The paleness and the fear in Maurice's expression can be seen clearly in Rex's eyes, Maurice's expression looks like a normal guy being pointed by a gun on his head.

This all happened right in front of Maurice's eyes as he stands by the window with a horror-stricken expression, he even saw how the black lightning tentacles carries the corpses.

He pulls down his mask exposing his wide grin before saying this, the cheeky grin was there just to show both of them that Rex is not bothered by their powerful aura.
After scanning Duncan Platchi, Rex then mocked with a calm tone, "You're still a sixth rank?"

Hearing this, Duncan grip his sword tighter upon hearing what Rex said before he replies, "What are you doing here Rex?"
"You didn't know?", Rex said pretending to be surprised.
His eyes then shifted to the right and landed on Maurice before he added, "I can feel your son is VERY, eager to talk to me during the meeting before. I thought I'll stop by!"
The bead of cold sweat can be seen clearly on the side of Duncan's face,
"Don't be cocky you piece of shit! You've made a big mistake coming here", Maurice suddenly intervenes from the side with a contorted expression.
Rex looks at him calmly for a few seconds,
Looking at this, Maurice grins back before he added, "The FAA should be on their way here now, Do you really think your fight outside wouldn't attract anyone?"
"All we have to do is keep you here, even you won't be able to kill us easily"
But upon hearing this, Rex holds his face with his hand with a slight chuckle.
The chuckle was a mocking chuckle, Rex can't believe what he's hearing right now, "The FAA will not come here, and your neighbors? I guarantee you they're still sleeping", Rex replied.
This makes a frown appear on Maurice's face.
While Duncan on the other side was not surprised,
In fact, when Maurice was threatening Rex, Duncan didn't have any changes in his facial expression aside from full caution towards Rex.
Duncan knows how cunning and ruthless Rex is,

While they're doing this, Rex is watching them calmly.
But there's also another thing in his vision aside from the son and father quarreling, there's the Sudden Quest that the system issued that told him to kill Maurice.
Rex is looking at the Sudden Quest tab as he crosses his leg in a figure 4 position,
His feet are moving up and down as it seems he's contemplating something, Rex is thinking before suddenly he realizes that Duncan and Maurice are looking at him dazed.
"Your son over there looks at me as if his eyes can kill, Do you have any explanation for that?"
Hearing this, Duncan glance at Maurice briefly before he replies, "As Maurice's father, I apologize on his behalf and hope that you can let this matter rest. He's still naive, I'll punish him for sure"
"Father!", Maurice said in surprise but quickly shut his mouth.
Rex then looks at Maurice before he sighs, he finally made up his mind, "You know that I never meant to kill Lucas right? He tried to kill me first because of an irrelevant matter"
"If you know Lucas, then you know what I'm telling is the truth", he added.
Duncan clenched his jaw upon hearing this but he didn't say anything to rebut Rex, he knows what his son's personality is like, and doing something like that is very much his son-like behavior.
Even Maurice looks to the side reluctantly,
Based on just their expression, Rex knows that Lucas is known for being a brat even to his family.
"It seems you both now understand why I was forced to kill Lucas, so don't blame me for defending myself and not letting Lucas kill me", Rex said before he slowly stands up.
Seeing Rex standing up from his seat, Maurice and Duncan points their weapons at Rex.
Rex raised his hands with a smile, "Easy there"
Under Duncan and Maurice's gaze, Rex started to walk around the guest room and the living room while inspecting the inside of the house up and down.
The inside of the house was comfortable, but Rex doesn't see anything fancy.
Only a couple of electronics of the newest model can be seen in the house, but aside from that, there's nothing else that can instantly differentiate them as a part of the 25 Families.
While walking around, Rex then said, "It seems you're not in a good condition"
"Is it because of the campaign to become one of the High Table? But seeing your state, your endeavor to become a member of the High Table doesn't go well is it?"
Hearing this, Maurice's face turns red as he grinds his teeth in anger.
Back when Rex is researching the Platchi Family, Rex found that the oldest son of the Platchi was trying to become one of the High Table to raise his family's name.
The money needed for this campaign is too much even for them,
So the head of the Platchi Family, Duncan makes the Fireband Market just to fund Maurice's campaign to become a part of the High Table which seems to be a complete failure.
Duncan and Maurice didn't answer which states the answer clearly to Rex,
"Then I have a proposal for you two, and the woman listening to us on the stairs", Rex said making the woman that's listening to them from the stairs heart beat faster.
With a wide smile, Rex then added, "I can hear your heartbeat"
A woman slowly came out of her hiding and starts to descend the stairs, without Rex asking he already knows that this woman is Duncan's wife.
Rex sits back on the sofa before he looks at the three while supporting his cheek with his fist.
"How about working with me as my subordinate?", Rex suddenly said.
Hearing this, the woman wanted to open her mouth with clear anger and so is Maurice but got stopped by Duncan that has a frown on his face, "What do you need us for? You have the Reed Family so why do you need us?"
"Because of some issues, I can't trust in the Reed fully", Rex said while shaking his head.
Although he didn't really think the Reed Family will betray him at some point, Edward insisted that the Reed Family can't be trusted so Rex is doing this just in case.
With a stoic expression, Rex then said, "I will help your family rise the ranks"
"In return, your family will be my subordinates giving every little information in the 25 Families circle and always at my disposal. You will eventually realize that what I'm offering you now is one in a million chance", Rex added nonchalantly.
Maurice turns his head towards Duncan before he denies, "Absolutely not!"
"Father! You can't possibly consider this blasphemy, don't listen to this damn fiend!", Maurice added angrily when he saw Duncan's thinking expression.
Even Duncan's wife is looking at Duncan in disbelief,
But Duncan realizes something the others don't, he can read Rex's expression clearly.
'He'll definitely kill us if we refuse', he thought.
After a brief moment and seeing his son and wife's reaction, Duncan finally said, "Can you let us think about this? This is not a small matter that I can answer right away"
"Don't worry, I'll give you time until we finish tomorrow's mission", Rex replied waving his hand.
After saying that, Rex's eyes glisten as he looks at Duncan, "Back to our topic earlier"
"You said that you're sorry on Maurice's behalf right? But how do I know if Maurice is also feeling sorry, so I need him to do something for me", Rex said as a brimming smile appeared on his face, this smile looks normal but it gives a bad omen in Duncan's heart.
Maurice is also frowning upon hearing this,
Duncan then said, "As long as it's within my son's power, he will definitely do it"
"That's great!", Rex said excitedly before he glance at Maurice.
But all of their faces contorted in shock when they heard the words that came out of Rex's mouth, "Gauge both of your eyes out, then I'll accept your sincere apology", he said with a smile.
