“I want you to take back Igor before Rex brought him to Daniel’s presence”
Hearing this, Edward raises one of his eyebrows in confusion, “Who’s Igor?”
“You don’t have to know Igor, all you need to know is that Igor is a kid with green hair. Someone from Rex’s side manage to take Igor, and if you want our help then prove that we can trust you by bringing Igor to us before we can talk more about our cooperation”, the figure explained.
This makes Edward think for a moment before walking past the figure.
A heavy silence was covering the place with only the singing of bugs in the background, but the silence was broken by Edward, “I expected Hans to come to see me, why did they send you?”
“Hans has some business to take care of, and I’m his replacement”, the figure replied.
Edward nodded his head a couple of times slightly before he asks with a questioning look, “When did Rex take the kid? Is it yesterday?”
The figure didn’t answer as he just looks at Edward blankly,
But just from the figure’s expression alone, Edward already knows that his guess is correct, “If Rex took Igor yesterday then aren’t you suspicious of me? I told Hans yesterday too”
Hearing this, the figure cracked a smile, “I’m sure you didn’t”
“We have our ways to keep an eye on you, so just do your job. Do we have a deal?”, the figure added with inspecting eyes.
After a slight deliberation, Edward then replied, “I’m on board”
Right after Edward said that the figure then disappear right under Edward’s gaze as if the figure was never there, to begin with.
Edward then takes another cigarette before he lights it up,
Although it is very brief, there’s a smile on his face when he’s smoking before he sat back down.

Rex is currently outside of the university with a frown,
When he’s giving Evelyn the woman and Igor to be kept in her place safely, Evelyn also told him that Adhara came into her room angrily before losing control.
She almost exposes her identity as a Werewolf in front of the guards,
The scar on Evelyn’s cheek clearly indicates that she’s not lying when she told Rex this, and thus Adhara really did lose control of herself.
‘Just why did she get that angry for?’, Rex thought in confusion.
After talking with Evelyn before, both of them went to the place where Evelyn will keep the woman and Igor so that they won’t be kidnapped back by the Atkins Family.
It’s not that far from Faraday University but it won’t be easy to find,
The place is an underground office that was built upon an abandoned subway station, the head of the Luc Family, Evelyn’s father bought it and makes it one of his offices.
While they’re going there, Evelyn told that her father likes to be alone when working.
She so happened to find this place accidentally when she was following her father, and that is the only way that she manages to find this place.
So because of that, the Atkins Family wouldn’t know the place.
There are no guards around the place though since that beats the whole anonymous place, and Rex didn’t mind as long as Evelyn is confident that the place will not get found out.
At the underground office,
“If this is your father’s place, then won’t he be angry knowing you did this?”, Rex asks.
Hearing this, Evelyn shrugs her shoulders before she glances at Rex pouting with puppy eyes, “Are you going to be angry with me? I’m sorry…”
“W-What?”, Rex asks in confusion.
Although it’s only brief, Evelyn looks so cute when she did that expression.
This even caught Rex off guard since the time and place are contrasting with her expression, and seeing this Evelyn then returns back to normal and said, “I just need to use that”
“My father will definitely forgive me, so you don’t need to worry”, she added.
Rex smile wryly upon hearing this, ‘Well there is a saying that a father’s biggest weakness is their own daughter’, he thought while shaking his head.
The woman and Igor were told to stay in this office,
The place is an underground office but there’s a bed and everything in this place, and it’s very luxurious nonetheless and this is surely way better than their own house.
So both of them don’t have a problem fitting in,
“Give me your phone, I’ll link the CCTV in this office to your phone”, Evelyn suddenly said.
She stretches her hand asking for Rex’s phone,
Rex without much thinking gave her his phone before she immediately went to work, while Rex is sitting on the sofa closing his eyes.
‘Adhara is not far from the university, I can feel it’, Rex thought.
Evelyn told Rex that although Adhara loses control, she manages to take care of it at the last second and she will probably be fine.
But after doing this, Rex will head to check on Adhara first just to make sure.
About half an hour later,
“Why is there no photo on your phone? So lame”, Evelyn suddenly said from the side.
Hearing this, Rex opens his eyes and saw Evelyn walking toward him while scrolling on his phone, “I don’t know what’s worth taking pictures, so I don’t really take pictures”
Evelyn sat beside Rex on the sofa before she said, “Memories, pictures worth memories”
“Although that is what normal people said, it means a lot more for Awakened. The mission we did fighting the Undead has opened many of the descendants’ eyes including me, although we’re stronger our responsibilities are also heavier”
“Many of us realized we’re not going to live as long as normal people, even though our bodies practically can bring us to hundreds of years old. So we need to make memories”
Rex was surprised when Evelyn said this,
While leading the descendants during the mission, Rex has only thought of keeping them alive and aside from that was probably showing them the horror of the Supernatural.
It seems what he did worked,
The descendants seem to understand that without him there, many of them will die because the Supernatural is that terrifying and practically more experienced than them.
Rex is sure of that since the descendants in his team even show him their gratitude.
‘I agree with what she said, we probably won’t live past 30 or 40 as long as this war continues’, Rex thought with a sigh, but then suddenly,

Out of nowhere, Evelyn kissed Rex right on his cheek while taking a picture.
This came out of nowhere making Rex touch his cheek in surprise, he glance at Evelyn who is smiling sweetly while looking at the picture she took.
“See, that is not so bad of a memory”, Evelyn said while showing Rex the picture.
The picture came out really good in Rex’s opinion even though in the picture he’s caught off guard, but Evelyn’s genuine expression added with his surprise creates a beautiful picture.
Rex then looks at Evelyn speechlessly after looking at the picture, “You-“
Before Rex can say a thing, Evelyn puts her index finger on his mouth before she said, “Now, go check on Adhara. She might still be depressed”
This makes Rex nod his head intending to leave but he suddenly stopped,
“Now that you say that, I’m sure you’re the one that provoked her”, Rex replied wryly.
Just from the way she’s acting and Adhara coming to Evelyn’s room, Rex realized that Evelyn probably did something to provoke Adhara.
He then added warningly, “Don’t do that again, you almost expose her”
Hearing this, Evelyn sighed before she replied, “I admit I didn’t think that far since you guys never had any problem with your transformation, but that’s a necessary mistake”
“Necessary? What did you do anyway?”, Rex asks in confusion.
Evelyn then smile mysteriously after hearing this before she said, “You can ask your mother”
“My mother? Evelyn… What did you do”, Rex mutters helplessly.
But Evelyn didn’t answer making Rex shakes his head and stands up, Rex then stretches his hand towards Evelyn out of nowhere.
Looking at Rex’s stretched hand, Evelyn was confused, “What’s this?”
“500 grand”, Rex said nonchalantly.
Evelyn knit her eyes in confusion before she asks again, “500 grand for…?”
“The photo and the kiss, that will cost 500 grand and I want it right now”, Rex replied as if what he said is natural, and this made Evelyn widen her eyes in shock.
Evelyn then said in disbelief, “Are you a hooker?”
Shamelessly, Rex then added, “Just lend me 500 grand, I need them for something”
Later that day,
Rex got back to the university at night after going with Evelyn before, now he’s standing just behind the entrance of the university with a frown.
Just from the gap in the fences, Rex can see a couple of people.
‘Atkins Family, I can sense their hostile intent just from standing here’, Rex thought-feeling troubled.
The Atkins Family is barricading the surroundings of the university,
All of them are crowding no matter where Rex’s eyes landed, but they didn’t wear their uniforms as they all disguised as normal abiding citizens.
A smoking guy on the street bench,
A customer inside a cafe, or restaurant sitting by the windows.
Even inside a car that is passing by the street around the university.
Some of the people from the Atkins even made eye contact with him,
Rex only looks at them with calm eyes unmoving from his spot, the more he looks at them the angrier he got since he should be in the Vampire territory right now.
He should be saving Rosie, or even doing other more beneficial things that he can do.
But these guys are preventing him from doing that.
The reason Rex can go meet with the Green Messenger and kidnap Norman is all thanks to the Luc family, they created a safe path for him to leave the perimeter of the Atkins Family.
If not for them then Rex will need to create a path on his own,
When that happened, then the path will be a bloodied one for sure unlike the path before.
‘Let’s not meddle with the 25 Golden Family Crest after this, it’s not worth it’, Rex thought before turning his gaze away and walking back to the university.
After checking the surrounding, Rex then stops and looks at his trembling hands.
‘It’s starting, the Wolf Moon effect is starting’, Rex thought as he takes a deep breath.
Rex then looks at the university building before he frowns, ‘Kyran and Gistella, both of them I don’t need to worry about since they both are obedient currently’
‘But Adhara might be the one that is affected the most’
A moment later,
Rex arrived in front of his room before he then notices Robert and Ryze walking alongside each other, they even seem close for some reason.
Upon seeing Rex looking at them, Robert then waves his hand, “Rex!”
“Robert, What are you doing with Ryze?”, Rex asks in confusion.
Hearing this, Robert then smile wryly, “You called me dad earlier, but now you go back calling me by my name?”, he said with a sigh.
But seeing Rex ignored him,
“We just came back from the library, I’m not like your mother who likes to walk around so might as well accompany Ryze here reading in the library”, Robert added.
Rex glanced at Ryze and find him nodding his head agreeing with what Robert said.
Before they can get in, Rex then signal for Ryze to approach him and whispered, “Do you find anything related to the Countess of the Dark Luniric?”
“I just found a bunch of legends, but I’m trying”, Ryze replied honestly.
Rex nodded his head with a sigh knowing that the chance is slim since the price of the information cost a fortune, but he still is hopeful to find out about it.
After saying that, Ryze walks inside the room.
Robert then stops beside Rex and asks, “Who is that kid anyway?”
“It’s a kid I saved before being sold as a slave”, Rex replied nonchalantly.
Hearing this, Robert widens his eyes as he mutters, “They still did that in this time and days? It seems even in dire times humans are still humans”
“No parents?”, Robert asks again.
Rex shakes his head before Robert holds him by the shoulder, “Just remember, although he might be the same as you. You can’t save everyone, you took two under you already”
The words penetrated Rex’s ear before Robert taps Rex’s shoulder a couple of times and get inside.
‘Fuck… I know that already’, Rex cursed inside his head.
Entering the room, Rex widen his eyes when he saw that the guest room just beside the entrance of his room was changed into somekind of the dining room.
Gistella, Kyran, and Ryze are already sitting there.
While Mrs. Greene is putting the food on the table while humming happily, her eyes then lit up when she saw Rex get inside the room, “My little boy! Come take a seat, hurry!”
“What is this mom?”, Rex asks as he takes a seat at the end of the table.
Since the table is rectangle-shaped that is quite long, there are two ends which were seated by Rex while the other one was empty.
Hearing this, Mrs. Greene then said, “You said that you’ll be busy”
“So I figured that I’ll make dinner for us to enjoy, I know you got a lot on your mind these days. I can see it in your face honey”, Mrs. Greene added while preparing the table.
Even Stuart and the maids are scolded when they try to help by Mrs. Greene.
All of them can only stand by the side while watching Mrs. Greene prepare the table by herself, it’s comical to see the maids and Stuart’s expressions.
While looking at the food on the table, Rex was speechless.
It’s been a very long time since he has ever experienced this from his mother, “You don’t usually cook this much”, Rex mutters albeit a bit happy while sipping water in a glass on his side.
This is something that he forgot that he missed dearly.
Mrs. Greene smiles brightly as she lights up the candles, “I’m in a very good mood”
“Oh yeah, Where’s Adhara? She hasn’t come back since I told her to deliver the food I prepared for your friend Evelyn, quick call her back so we can eat together”, she added.
Hearing this, Rex suddenly choked on the water as he started coughing a couple of times.
‘So that’s what ignites the problem…’, Rex thought wryly.
