“Ari…”, Edward mumbles as he saw Ari standing in front of the door.
There’s an apologetic hint in Ari’s expression as he bowed slightly and apologized for his absence, “I’m sorry for being absent at that time, I didn’t expect someone will be so daring”
“I will immediately find out the culprit to make up for my mistakes”, he added.
Hearing this, Adhara and Edward looks at each other with a complicated gaze before Adhara finally replied, “I’ll call Kyran, he’s the one that saw the sniper so he might be able to help”
“Alright, then excuse me”, Ari said as Adhara stepped to the side letting him in.
While they’re talking with each other, Edward is blankly looking at Ari from the side,
Feeling the gaze coming from Edward as Adhara signals for Ari to sit on the sofa, Ari then asks when he saw Edward’s roughed condition, “What happened to you? Is this because of the sniper?”
There’s a moment of silence as Edward only stares at Ari,
Even Adhara stopped in her tracks as she was about to call for Kyran, she even wanted to pinch Edward to make him snap out of his daze.
But Edward then shakes his head, “It’s nothing, I went to spar with Adhara earlier”
“Oh, Did Adhara able to beat you this time judging from your look?”, Ari said teasingly, he’s giving two thumbs up at Adhara which makes her smile wryly.
Edward also smiles as he replied, “She’s using her elements, that’s why I lost”
After seeing that Edward has already collected himself, Adhara went to Kyran’s room to call for him as Edward sat on the sofa in front of Ari.
“The butlers and maids are still here, do you want to drink something?”, Edward suddenly asks.
Hearing this, Ari smiled politely as he replied, “Tea would’ve been great, I’m pretty tired today so it’ll be great to drink tea”
“Stuart, Can you please make us tea?”, Edward called after hearing this.
Stuart who just got out of a room heard his name being called, he then went to get the teapot from the kitchen before he went to Edward and pour him the tea alongside Ari.
“Thank you…”, Ari said as he takes the glass and sips on it.
While Ari is stretching to take the tea in front of him, Edward suddenly catches a glimpse of a blade scar that poked out from the suit he’s wearing right now.
It makes his expression darken but he quickly collected himself,
Edward then suddenly asks after Ari puts down the glass, “So, Where were you just now?”
“Sorry?”, Ari mumbles lightly.
This makes Edward repeat his question again, “Where were you just now? It’s so unlike you to not be around here, and since you came this late at night you must’ve just finished whatever you’re doing am I right?”
“Yeah, Sir Stevanus asked me to do something. I can’t really talk about it”, Ari replied.
Hearing this, Edward also takes his tea slowly while keeping eye contact, “Huh… You don’t say”, he said before sipping his tea.
It didn’t take long for Adhara to come back with Kyran,
Kyran and Adhara sit among them before Kyran explained in detail about the sniper he encountered the other night, Ari takes notes of all the details as he nodded his head.
“So you’re saying he’s not an Awakened?”, Ari asks lightly.
Hearing this, Kyran looks at Adhara before he nodded his head.
This makes Ari frown as he leans back on the sofa, “If this sniper is not an Awakened and can even match Kyran in terms of strength, then he must be from the SCO, there are no other explanations”
“We haven’t even allied with them yet, but now look at how daring they are”, Ari added with a mocking tone.
Since the sniper was said to have no elemental aura, then the main suspect will be the SCO which consists of black hands that is strong without using any elemental aura.
It’s still a mystery for the others how the SCO operates,
“I don’t know what those suckers juiced the black hands with, but they’re damn strong as if they’re not humans at all! I bet they’re doing an experiment using the Supernatural, there’s no way a normal person can be that strong aside from Awakened”, Ari cursed with a bit of disgust on his face.
But then Adhara replied, “I don’t think it’s the SCO, why would they aim for Ryze?”
Although what Adhara said is also a point bearing consideration, the real reason she doesn’t think that it’s the SCO is that Rex is a part of the SCO.
He’s even the one that makes this alliance between the UWO and SCO possible,
Edward even got saved by the black hands earlier, it’s just unlikely for the SCO to aim for Ryze who is someone without any standing.
It just doesn’t make sense,
So by thinking with that logic, the SCO shouldn’t have any mix with this mysterious sniper and even if they did then it must be a rogue black hand.
While Adhara and Ari are talking, Edward’s mind was still stuck to when Ari cursed about the black hand as his expression turns drained before he leans on the sofa.
“It’s weird for you to say that…”, Edward mumbles.
Hearing Edward mumble, Ari and Adhara glance at him before Ari asks, “What did you say?”
Edward raises his gaze realizing that Adhara and Ari are looking at him, he then smiles as he waves his hand in front of him, “Oh nothing…”
“I was just thinking about what you said about the black hand earlier”, he added.
Ari smiles in confusion upon hearing this,
But then Edward glanced at Ari as he chuckles, “You seem to bore resentment for them and you also said that they’re damn strong almost as if you’ve just fought them, I was just thinking about that. Have you fought one of them before?”
The words that come out of Edward’s mouth make Ari’s expression stiffen,
Kyran looks at both of them and finds there’s a weird tension in the air even though Edward seems to be joking, he’s quite confused about the situation.
While Adhara on the other side knows exactly what Edward means,
“You got the details right Ari? It’s kind of late, you should go back”, Adhara suddenly added from the side dispersing the tension in the air.
Hearing this, Ari stands up politely, “Well then, I bid you all good night”
After saying that, Adhara escorted Ari out of the room before she closes the door light.
Her eyes then landed on Edward who is still sitting tensely on the sofa, Adhara then said, “Based on how he acts, it seems what we thought is true”
“No… It’s definitely true”, Edward mumbles as his expression turns dark.
Edward’s mind is currently piecing up things together as he just confirmed that the figure he met being chased by the black hands before is definitely Ari, there’s no doubt about it.
He even came here still with his scars from earlier,
Maybe that’s why Ari is wearing a suit or it’s just an excuse to say that he just did something for Stevanus, but the fact still stands that Ari is the one beside Hans earlier.
‘So that’s how Hans manage to find out about Zelene and uncle…’, Edward thought.
Now that he confirms Ari is the one beside Hans earlier who’s holding onto Zelene, it’s clear that Hans got the information about Zelene and his uncle from Ari.
Since Ari is always in Faraday University,
He must’ve caught Edward and Adhara talking with Zelene and his uncle before meeting with Daniel Burton, there’s no other explanation aside from that.
“But Ari is the one that kept Zelene alive, Why is he helping Hans?”, Adhara asks.
Hearing this, Edward shakes his head as he replied, “I already suspected him a while ago and we’ve talked about things, his true aim is to find out how Rex makes you and Kyran strong”
“If that’s the case, why are you so angry with him right now?”, Adhara asks again.
There’s a nasty expression etched on Edward’s face as he clenched his hand strongly, even his jaw is clenched as he mutters, “He didn’t keep her alive, he just doesn’t want to be a part of it”
“And also, if it weren’t for him Hans will not know the existence of Zelene and my uncle”
After saying that, Edward stands up abruptly as he said, “I’m going to take Zelene and my uncle to my room, I will feel bad if I let them stay here and disturb you”
Edward then walks towards the room but Adhara stopped him,
“What are we going to do with Ari? He’s going to come by like usual and I don’t know how to act in front of him”, Adhara said stopping Edward in his tracks.
Since Ari turns out can’t be trusted, Adhara feels conflicted about how to behave.
She then added, “I can’t act properly to someone that I don’t like”
“Don’t worry, you won’t need to act in front of him for long”, Edward suddenly said.
Adhara tilts her head to the side in confusion upon hearing this,
But Edward then continues, “I saw the battle scars from before still on Ari, the Reed Family has their own healer so if they’re trying to keep it a secret from us then they won’t do that kind of dumb mistake for not healing Ari first”
“Then there can be only one thing, Ari is moving on his own. At least under Stevanus radar”
Seeing that Adhara is still confused, Edward then added, “Think about it, why would he risk getting caught by us instead of healing his wounds first. He must be hiding this from Stevanus, and if he’s hiding from Stevanus then that means…”
“Stevanus will not like what he’s doing!”, Adhara exclaimed as her eyes widen.
This brought a smile to Edward’s face, “Exactly, this is the length he’s willing to go to find out about Rex. If that’s the case, all we need is to convince Rex, and with the black hands assigned by him, convincing him is practically done”

The next day,
Rex woke up on a bed with Evelyn lying beside him still asleep, the sun had just emerged in the sky and he rubs his eyes a couple of times as he collects himself.
Last night after talking to Raul, Rex got escorted to the resting quarter.
The resting quarter for the descendants is a five-star hotel that lies in the middle of the city, it’s quite good almost hiding the fact that this city just got sieged by the Supernatural.
Rex meets with Evelyn who is waiting for him in front of the hotel,
She’s worried about Rex since Rex is quite drained from fighting two companies of Undead as it’s evident by him taking a power nap to rest, that is why she waited for him in worry.
There’s also a chance that Rex met with the Werewolves’ reinforcement,
With the condition he’s in right now, meeting the Werewolves’ reinforcement might just spill his doom which is another reason for Evelyn to be worried.
But when Evelyn was asking about his findings,
Rex stopped listening after she asks if the secret route is real, and out of nowhere his body suddenly shut down as Evelyn supported him.
Although he tries to act strong about it, his body is clearly suffering.
No matter how much Rex tried to reach his room first before shutting down like this, the fact that he just got into the rest quarter and may be added with Evelyn’s presence made his body just give out in a snap.
This makes Rex feels uncomfortable thinking back to last night,
‘That shouldn’t have happened’, Rex thought remembering when his body gave out last night.
He is currently sitting on the bed after just waking up, his gaze was attracted to the side where Evelyn is asleep soundly beside him.
“At this point, she definitely deliberately does this to tempt me isn’t she?”
He then mumbles wryly, “This woman is dangerous, I can’t keep letting her like this”
Evelyn is currently wearing the hotel bathrobe as she sleeps defenselessly beside him, the hotel bathrobe can hardly cover much that even her cleavage and her upper thighs can be seen.
Her silky smooth skin and plump body are a sight to see, even for the manliest man.
It will be a lie if Rex didn’t get tempted by this at all,
‘Fuck, she’s really sexy. If only Adhara was the one beside me, I can do her right now!’, Rex cursed as he tries to turn his head away from Evelyn’s tempting figure.
Rex turns his gaze away as he thought, ‘Where’s Gistella?’
After looking to the side, he found Gistella sleeping on the sofa just beside the bed as she too seems to be tired especially when she just got turned into a Werewolf by Rex.
It must be overwhelming now that they’re not as hectic as before,
But when Rex was about to go out and get something to eat with his stomach grumbling, “Mmmph…”, Evelyn suddenly moves her body as she turned toward Rex.
Rex’s body stiffens as he looks down at his own thighs,
His eyes widen when he saw Evelyn’s arms wrap around his waist tightly as her plump body teases Rex’s skin, he is currently in his boxer right now as Evelyn seems to take his clothes off.
The firm yet soft body of Evelyn makes Rex’s skin crawl, ‘This is bad, I have to move her…’
With Evelyn’s body pressing against his waist, Rex can even feel her warm breath on his skin.
“Evelyn, wake up! You’re too close to me, stop hugging me”, Rex said while rocking Evelyn’s body trying to wake her up, but she seems to be deep asleep as this didn’t work.
Rex kept trying to wake her up but she suddenly mutters, “Rex…”
“Are you really saying that?”, she added while hugging Rex’s waist tighter, this makes Rex looks at her in confusion since he heard what Evelyn is mumbling
But then, “You’re such a playboy, what about Adhara?”
This makes Rex frown even harder as he saw Evelyn’s face turns red as she kept smiling in her sleep, she even rubs her thighs together as she mumbles in her sleep.
Rex’s body went stiff when she suddenly mutters, “Fine just this time, but be gentle”
