This is the first time Rex saw something like this,
Although it’s been not too long since he became an Awakened, he never heard of an Awakened possessing two elemental affinities just like what Evelyn did right now.
Evelyn’s sudden burst of power greatly surprised Rex,
Rex who was about to dash to help her caged his intention to help, it seems Evelyn doesn’t need his help in fighting against the Undead cavalry and the Elder Liches.
After killing the Undead around her,
The fire mana gathers on under Evelyn’s feet before she suddenly leapt into the air.

All of the Undead look up to Evelyn whose body blazes with dark red fire, even more, the fire swirls around her body like a coiling snake creating a spiral around her.

Upon seeing this, Rex can feel spirit energy aside from fire mana gathering around her body, ‘This spirit energy… It’s the first circle of Pneuma Spell’, he thought in surprise.
Rex can feel the spiritual energy gathering as Evelyn prepares her spell,
Although the Pneuma Spell that she’s using right now falls to the first circle unlike Rex’s ether blink, this is still the first time Rex saw someone using Pneuma Spell aside from him.
The compatibility of Evelyn and her spirit must be very high to be able to do this.
[Hoo, She has a decent spirit], Devo suddenly praised inside Rex’s head, and this surprises Rex since Devo usually only talks badly about other spirits.
Like Dray’s spirit, for example, Devo suppressed that spirit for a simple reason.

[Probably around in the upper half of the four thousand years old, pretty strong for the current state of the human race], Devo replied after sensing the spirit’s energy.
‘Pretty strong?! That’s like the strongest aside from you?’, Rex thought in surprise.
Based on the spirit that Rex meets from the other families including Dray from the Burton Family, there are hardly any spirits above the one thousand year mark.
So Rex found it surprising for Evelyn to get such a powerful spirit,
After the spiral around her body merge with the spiritual energy, the dark red fire’s aura got amplified bursting with a powerful flame that makes the surrounding turns reddish.
Evelyn right now looks like a fire goddess as her entire being is covered with dark red fire.
Back when Adhara did a similar spell that makes her afloat in the air, she also looks like a fire goddess too but her looks lean to the burning jealousy of a goddess.
Just like her element’s nickname, the Fire of Jealousy.
While Evelyn on the other looks more intimidating, her fire looks like it came straight from hell.
After the dark red fire burns the brightest as it is at its peak,
She glances at the ice wall and also the elder lich with burning eyes before she started to descend, she spins her body as the dark red fire turns into a spiral fiery drill descending from the sky.
It makes her look like a meteor engulfing the surrounding in flames.
Looking at this, the elder lich and also the other liches gather their ice mana amassing it before a giant shield-like coffin made of ice appears from thin air to block Evelyn.
Rex is watching this from the side as the ground trembles under their mana.
Even his skin started to get scorched from Evelyn’s spell, it almost felt like he was inside an oven, ‘Wait! The others are still here!’, Rex thought as he glance to the side.
But right after he glances to the side, a white energy barrier covers him.
Maurice, Seve, and Dray who already recovered from the attack also got covered by the white barrier, even Rex felt that his body is burning.
They are the closest ones to Evelyn so they felt the effect more than the others.
Rex glances to the back and saw Gistella’s hands glowing with white energy, she uses her protection spell to shield Rex and the others from Evelyn’s Pneuma Spell.
“Hellfire Meteor!”
BOOM!!
A powerful shockwave blasted to the surroundings as Evelyn collided with the ice coffin, the tip of the meteor drill focuses on the center part of the coffin trying to push through.
Hundreds of Undead in the surrounding got blasted by the shockwave,
Rex saw them sent flying away because of the shockwave, an Undead cavalry was also sent flying away and even hit the white barrier surrounding Rex.
Upon closer inspection, the Undead cavalry’s armor is melting because of the shockwave.
CRACK!
The ice coffin started cracking under the pressure from Evelyn’s spell, and it didn’t take long before a shattering sound can be heard as the meteor drill pierced through.
KABOOM!
SWOOSH!
Gistella’s protection barrier cracked upon getting hit by the explosion,
Debris such as rocks, dirt, and others was blasted turning into bullets, this makes Rex’s vision covered as he got protected by the white barrier.
After a moment, the explosion receded as the battlefield was covered by smoke.
The white barrier surrounding Rex disappears after the explosion ended, Rex looks around in worry, ‘Are the others okay? That even cracked Gistella’s protection barrier’, he thought.
Glancing to his side amidst the smoke, Rex can see the others are recovering.
Rex sighed in relief before he looks forward, his eyes darted left and right searching for Evelyn.
The smoke slowly dissipates and Rex saw Evelyn standing on two feet, blood can be seen on her arms as her armbands broke because of the collision.
Evelyn is breathing roughly amidst the carcass of Undead,
Parts of her body got frozen in ice because of the collision, but she should be okay.
Rex widen his eyes when the smoke finally got brushed by the wind, he saw the ice wall shatters as the liches bodies were scattered lifeless around.
He even saw a couple of dead elder lich on the ground,
The pneuma spell is very powerful that even the elder lich succumbs under its might, Evelyn turns her body around towards Rex before a smile appears on her face.
Seeing this, Rex shakes his head as to how stubborn Evelyn can be.
If only Evelyn let Rex deal with the liches then she doesn’t need to sustain these injuries, she looks beat up but she still has a bright smile on her face.
But then suddenly, Rex widen his eyes in surprise,
Right beside her is an elder lich that should’ve been dead, but Rex saw the elder lich moves as it gathers death energy on the tip of its index finger intending to cast a spell on Evelyn.
Since Evelyn is facing Rex, she didn’t see this happening behind her.
“NO!”, Rex shouted as he dash with all his might.
He activated his flash spell intending to knock Evelyn out of the way, but Rex soon realized that he will not make it in time as he chanted, “Force Beam!”
BOOM!
Rex punches the air sending a red force beam toward the elder lich,
The red force beam flies to the elder lich even faster than Rex’s movement, and before the elder lich can finish the spell,
BAM!
SWIT!
Rex’s force beam landed right on the elder lich’s head as the elder lich’s head disappear from its place, its index finger was also shot by something dissipating the gathered death energy.
Upon seeing this, Rex stops as he felt relieved that the force beam arrives first.
Evelyn saw this happening as she glance to the back, she widen her eyes when she realized that the elder lich was about to kill her from the back.
But Rex also notice something pierced through the wind and cut off the elder lich’s finger.
Rex glance to the back and finds Velten holding the pistol the Green Messenger gave, it’s clear that he’s the one that shot the bullet at the elder lich’s index finger.
The accuracy that he has was impeccable, to actually hit his mark from quite far away.
Using a pistol with no scope nonetheless,
But then the ground suddenly shook as Rex snap his head towards Evelyn, there he saw Intuma running towards Evelyn with bloodthirsty eyes.
Intuma was enraged when it saw the liches die in front of its eyes,
ROAR!!
Evelyn was about to leap away but she found that Intuma is way faster than her, she can’t escape from Intuma’s charge especially since she just used the Pneuma Spell.
The bastard saber was raised high as Intuma intend to slash Evelyn,
Looking at this, Evelyn closed her eyes since she can’t dodge the attack before suddenly,
CLANG!
THUD!
Intuma was pushed back before its bastard saber can even reach Evelyn, a voice then seeped into Evelyn’s ears, “Open your eyes, you’re okay”
Hearing this, Evelyn opened her eyes slowly before she find Rex standing in front of her.
Rex’s wide back is facing Evelyn which gives her a feeling of comfort and protection, his back is like a tall wall that shields her from the incoming monster.
After pushing Intuma back, Rex turns his face to the side exposing a slight smile.
“You keep your words by clearing a path for me, now I’m going to keep mine so let me handle this”, Rex mutters feeling a bit impressed by Evelyn’s feat.
Usually, he doesn’t like stubborn people,
Seeing this side of Evelyn somewhat impressed him, this stubborn side of her is not that bad.
Evelyn nodded her head as she stands back up, “Okay, I’ll leave this to you”
She then dashes away after saying that leaving Rex and Intuma face to face alone, there are no more Undead in the surroundings because of Evelyn’s pneuma spell.
The army of Undead has decreased tremendously,
“Now that there’s no one standing in our way”, Rex mutters before glancing at Intuma.
Intuma’s glowing red eyes are filled with bloodthirst wanting to rip Rex to shreds, even the other heads around its body are glaring at Rex with horrifying bloodthirst.
But this doesn’t faze Rex as he looks at Intuma calmly,
He then asks while putting the Amuerus katana on his traps with a grin, “I’m collecting Undead heads, will you be so kind as to gift me your heads?”
“You have many of them, I’m sure giving me one will not be a problem”, Rex mocked.
Hearing this, Intuma slammed its bastard saber to the ground angrily before he replied with a nasty smile, “Are you tired of living, human? Why don’t you give me your head instead?”
“If you don’t, I’ll squash your puny body with my bare hands”, Intuma added.
The crazed smile on both of their faces increases the tension between them.
Rex and Intuma are keeping eye contact, none of them back down from the intense stare.
The wind gently brushes their bodies, the air is filled with a mix of a burning smell and the smell of rotten carcasses of the Undead.
It’s like they’re both engaged in a staring contest,
The one that breaks the eye-contact first will be the loser, but not only the one that breaks the eye contact is the loser but this will also signify the start of their fight.
After a moment, Intuma can’t hold eye contact as its vision is filled with Undead carcasses.
Especially since there is a crazed smile on Rex’s face that looks as if it was mocking Intuma, there is not one human who died from their exchange but thousands of Undead die instead.
It’s clear that the Undead is being overwhelmed right now,
The black hands and the descendants are still fighting as Rex and Intuma face each other, and this sprouts a chill on Intuma’s spine before Intuma finally snapped.
ROAR!!
With its humongous body, Intuma dashes toward Rex in anger.
Intuma held the bastard saber high with its muscular arm, death energy is gathering on the bastard saber making the bastard saber glow with a dark hue.
Seeing this, Rex also dashes forward imbuing his swords with red force.
CLANG!!
Both of them are locked in a standstill as they both gaze at each other fiercely, Rex’s swords and Intuma’s bastard sword are shaking while they try to overpower each other.
“Don’t be angry that much, you’ll meet your minions soon enough”, Rex said.
He then twist both of his swords making the bastard sword slammed the ground,
With the decisive movements of an expert, Rex appears on Intuma’s right before he swings his swords aiming at Intuma’s waist.
But then suddenly,
CLANG!
Intuma’s movement was fast as Intuma parried Rex’s attack while moving in an unnatural manner, its head didn’t even turn to see Rex.
Only Intuma’s arm moved to parry Rex’s attack,
‘How did it block my attack? I’m sure that is its blindspot’, Rex thought with a frown.
Then he saw the head on Intuma’s back glance at him, and just from that Rex realizes why, ‘Those heads, its vision is basically 360 because of those heads’
It seems Intuma’s vision is linked with the heads all over its body,
Thanks to this, Intuma has a perfect vision that can’t be ambushed even from the back.
SLASH!
Rex dodge Intuma’s attack by tilting his body to the side, the both of them then started exchanging slash after slash relentlessly.
Their arms are blurry which shows how fast they are exchanging blows,
Blows after blows were parried or dodged, the ground around them got destroyed from each of their swings creating a powerful gust of wind that pushes the approaching Undead back.
None of them can even near Intuma and Rex as they exchange attacks crazily,
During this exchange, Rex frown when he realized that he can’t reach Intuma’s body with his swords thanks to the heads that are watching every inch of his movement.
But Intuma manages to land a few blows at Rex which shows the battle experience it had.
Even Intuma’s reflex is as fast as him which greatly surprises Rex,
“If that’s the case, let’s see you keep up with this!”, Rex shouted as his eyes sparkled with black lightning, a rumbling sound can be heard from the sky before suddenly.
CRAACK!!
A lightning bolt strikes down from the sky as Rex disappeared from his place.
Looking at this, Intuma was surprised before it looks up to the sky feeling there is something hawking from the sky.
But less in a blink of an eye,
Intuma widened its eyes when it suddenly saw a thick black lighting bolt descends from the sky, it didn’t give Intuma any time to react as the lighting bolt arrives,
SLASH!
“RAARGHH!”, Intuma roared as it got slashed by Rex’s swords.
Rex manage to slash Intuma with both of his swords from its chest all the way to the thigh, it was pretty deep as it spilled black liquid.
<The enemy’s stats has been decreased by 1%>
The Amuerus katana takes effect sapping Intuma’s power,
Seeing that the spell is effective, Rex did it a couple of times slashing and stabbing Intuma’s body like a madman.
Ether blink is too fast for Intuma to dodge,
Roar!!
Intuma growls angrily feeling its skin got sizzled by the silver sword, it then slash down with a wide swing making Rex smirks, ‘There it is, you let down your guard’
SLASH!
Rex dodges the wide swing and slashes Intuma’s armpit intending to chop its arm off.
But to his surprise, Intuma’s bones are very sturdy that even the silver sword didn’t manage to cut it off with one powerful clean swing.
ROAR!
Another powerful roar imbued with death energy escapes Intuma’s mouth,
‘Shit! That’s more powerful than I imagine’, Rex thought as he covers his ears, the heightened hearing of his becomes his downfall as the roar shook his eardrums.
Rex has heard of Intuma’s roar before, but he’s quite far.
Now that he’s directly in front of Intuma, the roar almost shatters his eardrums.
Upon focusing back on the fight after the roar, Rex widened his eyes when the bastard saber is already right in front of him.
BAM!!
The bastard sword landed right on Rex’s stomach sending him crashing away,
BOOM!
Rex’s body got slammed to the ground a hundred feet away as he throws up a mouthful of blood, it was a direct attack and the air in Rex’s lungs got forced out.
“Arghh!”, he grunted while covering his stomach.
The wound on his back that he got from Durrant is also throbbing, the situation is not good.
But Rex saw that there was a protective white barrier blocking the attack, it lessened the impact of Intuma’s strike greatly.
It was nonother than Gistella’s spell,
Rex glanced to the side and found Gistella is paying her attention to him while fighting the Undead, and just from her spell alone, Rex didn’t regret one bit of making her one of his pack.
After catching his breath, Rex stands up strugglingly.
Intuma is dashing towards him with immense killing intent as Rex exhales harshly, ‘If only someone can fight alongside me, it’s sure going to be easier taking it down’
But right after Rex thought of that,
ROAR!!
A bolt of white lightning flashes past Rex’s vision before hitting Intuma,
Upon getting hit by the white lightning, Intuma was pushed back even though it has its guard up while receiving the white lightning.
Rex widen his eyes before a smile crept on his face, ‘Just about time’
