Alex slowly got up, his body reforming as he revived himself from the [Hatred Demon]’s previous attack.
He wiped the blood trickling from his nose, his breathing heavy.
Even though he had the powers of a god and attributes to match, he still felt a growing fatigue.
It wasn’t enough to slow him down in battle, but there was a strange, gnawing pain in his chest, as if something was trying to take over his heart.
[The Heart of Calamity warns you to be careful now.]
“No shit,” Alex groaned, his voice strained as he steadied himself and prepared to fight again.
The longer this battle dragged on, the stronger that unsettling feeling in his heart grew.
But it didn’t matter.
He could feel that the end was near, and he wasn’t about to back down now.

This was his lifeline.
Every point counted, and he couldn’t afford to waste them.
As for the [Hatred Demon], it still had two hits left before it would die.
Two more strikes to its heart, and this nightmare would be over.
“Here goes,” the [Hatred Demon] warned, its expression serious as crimson aura erupted from its eyes.
It dashed forward with terrifying speed, the sound of its movement like a thunderclap.
‘No, you don’t,’ Alex thought, his mind sharp as he selected an orb.
[You have selected the “Orb of Annihilation.”]
He activated it immediately, the orb glowing as it floated above him.
It began firing spears at the [Hatred Demon], one every second, each one shooting forward with incredible precision.
The spears seemed to predict the demon’s movements, forcing it to dodge and weave as it tried to close the distance.
The first spear hit its mark, exploding on impact and destroying one of the [Hatred Demon]’s arms.
The creature growled in frustration as it regenerated the limb, its movements slowing slightly as it avoided more spears.
“How annoying,” the [Hatred Demon] groaned, its voice filled with irritation.
“You think overwhelming me with these… things, will allow you to win?” it shouted, its tone mocking.
And then, it used its ability again.
FULL ASSAULT!
In an instant, the [Hatred Demon] seemed to vanish, leaving behind an afterimage as it moved faster than the eye could follow.
The spears from the [Orb of Annihilation] continued to fire, but they couldn’t keep up with the creature’s speed.
“DO YOU BELIEVE YOUR LITTLE ORBS ARE ENOUGH?” the [Hatred Demon] shouted, its voice echoing from every direction at once.
Alex couldn’t pinpoint its location, the sound disorienting him.
“Shut up,” Alex replied, his voice steady despite the chaos.
The spears kept firing, but they were no longer fast enough to hit the [Hatred Demon].
“WHAT HAPPENS ONCE YOUR ORBS RUN OUT?”
“Shut up…”
“You have already lost, human,” the [Hatred Demon]’s voice returned to normal, though it still moved at blinding speed.
“Give up.”
And then…
[Last spear has been launched.]
The final spear shot into the air, and the [Orb of Annihilation] disappeared, its purpose served.
But something was strange.
The last spear had aimed upward, and Alex’s eyes widened as he looked up.
There, above him, was the [Hatred Demon], its grotesque face twisted into a grin.
Time seemed to slow as the creature loomed over him.
“I can sense your weakness,” it whispered, its voice dripping with malice.
“I can sense your fears.
Let me guess, you don’t have that many revives left, do you?”
“SHUT UP—”
Alex shouted, but before he could finish, the [Hatred Demon] swung its claws.
The attack was too fast, too precise.
Alex’s head was severed from his body, falling to the ground with a sickening thud.

Thankfully, hitting the [Hatred Demon] with that spear had increased his points by two, meaning he only needed one more to revive himself again.
But he couldn’t afford to be careless.
One wrong move, and it would all be over.

Alex revived himself, his body reforming as he gasped for air.
He barely had time to react before the [Hatred Demon] was on him again, its claws slashing toward him.
Alex deflected the attack, his movements sharp and precise.

‘Good,’ Alex thought, his mind racing.
‘One more.’
“DON’T YOU REALIZE,” the [Hatred Demon] shouted, crimson air escaping its mouth as if the hatred itself was corrupting it.
“YOU WON’T WIN!”
“You know,” Alex mumbled, his voice calm despite the chaos, “I despise villains like you, whose only sentences are ‘You can’t win’ and ‘Give up.’ But keep doing that,” he smirked, “Because until now, not a single one of them has ever won.”
“Then I’ll be the first,” the [Hatred Demon] growled, its voice filled with determination.
It joined its hands together, and Alex immediately flapped his four wings, soaring into the air to avoid what he assumed was another [Hatred Beam].
But this time, something was different.
“Another life lost,” the [Hatred Demon] said, its voice cold as it spread its arms wide.
A giant portal appeared around them, and from it emerged a single, small orb.
“Wait…” Alex’s eyes widened as he recognized the symbol on the orb—a spike.
It was the [Orb of Cataclysm].
“There’s no way—”
Before he could finish his sentence, the [Hatred Demon] grabbed the orb and threw it toward him, snapping its fingers at the same time.
“SHIT, IT’S AN ORB?!” Alex shouted, his heart racing as he realized what was happening.
The [Hatred Demon] had used its second strongest skill:
HATRED COPY!
[Effect: allows you to copy any attack that harmed you.
The attack copied is random, meaning you cannot decide.]
It was random, and though it thankfully hadn’t copied [World Cleaver], it had still copied one of Alex’s orbs.
That was why the creature was so confident in his death—every skill Alex had thrown at it was either an orb or [World Cleaver], guaranteeing that he would die at least once.
But even then, Alex wasn’t in despair.
He knew his orbs had one specific weakness: when thrown, their speed wasn’t that high, meaning there was a way to avoid them.
And so, he flapped his wings, dashing toward the orb.
When he got close enough, the orb began to glow repeatedly, indicating it was about to activate.
At the last possible moment, Alex flapped his wings backward, propelling himself away just as dozens of crimson spikes erupted from the orb.
Thanks to his quick thinking, he managed to avoid the spikes by a hair’s breadth.
“Heh,” Alex grinned, his voice filled with defiance.
“And here you said that I would die!”
“You will,” the [Hatred Demon] replied, its voice cold.
Alex turned around just in time to see the creature in a dropkicking position.
BOOM!
The [Hatred Demon]’s dropkick hit Alex with such force that his body almost gave out from the impact.
He was sent flying forward, straight into the spikes.
His body was pierced in multiple places, the pain overwhelming.
‘Oh, come on…’

He was running dangerously low on [Destiny Points], and it almost felt like they were stuck in a loop.
But even then, Alex didn’t give up.
He couldn’t, the fight wasn’t over yet.
