“Matteo, come in,”
As soon as Matteo had walked into the blacksmith shop, he instantly noticed the brand new Two-Handed Warhammer in the hands of the barbarian girl Lagaray; the Warhammer was nearing completion and was in the process of being polished.
Matteo’s eyes immediately widened, staring transfixed at the dense spikes on the top of the hammerhead!
He had never before seen such an exaggerated, even ‘ferocious’ design for a hammerhead.
“Lieutenant, this… this black Warhammer, is it your new weapon?” Since Matteo had been present at last night’s attack by the Iron Maiden automaton, he knew that Rein’s bronze Warhammer had shattered, so he asked.
“Yes, how is it, Lagaray’s craftsmanship is not bad, right!” Rein, too, was looking at the ‘hog’s head hammer’ with a satisfied expression.
“Yeah! It’s really impressive!”
“Sir, how heavy is this Warhammer? It looks very heavy!” Matteo, quite interested, walked around the Warhammer that was being polished and asked after a careful inspection.
“Uh… this…” Rein only felt that the hog’s head hammer should weigh over a hundred pounds, much heavier than the Glimmering Greatsword.
But the exact weight, he really didn’t know.

“It’s almost one hundred fifty pounds!” said Lagaray, the barbarian girl polishing the Warhammer, rolling her eyes at Rein.
Her expression seemed to say, as the owner of the hammer, not even knowing the weight of his Warhammer.
“Hisss~” Matteo couldn’t help but suck in a breath of cold air, his eyes widening again!
One could hardly imagine the effect of a spiked Warhammer weighing nearly one hundred fifty pounds, should its point strike a human body!
Terrifying! Terrifying!
“By the way, Matteo, have you found a house yet?” Rein turned to look at Matteo and asked.
It was only then that Matteo remembered the purpose of his visit to the blacksmith shop; he slapped his forehead and said, “Oh! Right, sir, I’ve checked out a few houses near the town administration hall, and I think there are two that should meet your requirements.”
“If it’s convenient, sir, we can go and take a look now.”
“Okay! Let’s go take a look now,” Rein nodded.
He wanted to settle the matter of the house quickly so that he could get his parents to start moving.
Additionally, the creation of the Warhammer only needed a final touch, and staying around wasn’t going to gain him much blacksmithing experience.
Immediately afterwards, Rein said to Lagaray, “I’ll step out for a bit to check out the house, the rest is hard work for you.”
But Rein had just taken a step when he seemed to remember something, quickly turning around, he said, “Oh, right, how about using the blood-vein steel ingots to craft a shield?”
Lagaray paused at this, stopping her work and looking up at Rein with her beautiful eyes, “That would certainly suit well.”
Rein nodded, smiling and saying, “Then I will go back home later and bring you the blood-vein steel ingots; remember to craft a new shield for yourself.”
“This…”
Lagaray looked at Rein thoughtfully, initially wanting to decline, but then she hesitated.
“No, it’s too precious. Besides, a single shield wouldn’t need that many blood-vein steel ingots…” Lagaray shook her head.
However, before Lagaray could finish, Rein interrupted her.
Rein waved his hand, saying, “Don’t refuse. In last night’s battle, your oak shield was damaged. Without a shield, you can’t perform at your best.”
“If there are surplus blood-vein steel ingots, then make a blood-vein steel shield for me as well.” Rein looked at Lagaray seriously.
This caused Lagaray to blush slightly and she lowered her head a bit.
“Also, if the church’s troops arrive in a couple of days and we go to the Nightingale Forest, without a shield…” Rein shrugged.
Rein’s last words made Lagaray stop declining; she nodded, “Okay! Then I won’t be shy, Rein, thank you.”
Smiling, Rein left the blacksmith shop.
Upon stepping out, Rein decided he would first go with Matteo to view the house.
Because once it was decided, he could have his parents start moving, and along the way, he could also go home to fetch the blood-vein steel ingots.
“Matteo, which one shall we see first?” Rein asked.
“Sir, the first house we are going to see belonged to the pie shop owner Makoff Delgado,”
“Makoff was a good man, but unfortunately, his whole family died in the church, killed in the Cult’s ritual.” Matteo briefly explained the background of the house.
“The pie shop owner?” Rein’s brow lifted, as if he remembered something.
“The one not far from Abel’s potion shop?”
“You know of it, sir? Yes, that’s the one,” Matteo initially showed surprise, but then it seemed natural to him that Makoff and Rein were both from Flashgold Town and they knew each other.
Rein of course knew the pie shop well.
He had often bought meat pies there; Makoff’s meat pies were one of his sister Bo He’s favorite pies, second only to the meat pies made by their mother Emma.
Shortly after, the two arrived in front of the first house, a two-and-a-half-story residence just over a hundred meters from the Flashgold Town administration hall.
The house had an independent fence, and there were small yards both in front and in the back, but the front yard alone was much larger than Rein’s family’s front yard.
Also, there were quite a few flowers planted in the front yard, with barely any weeds around, indicating that the original owner Makoff and his family regularly took care of it.
Rein nodded slightly; the yard seemed very suitable for digging around, and he believed his sister Bo He would most certainly like it.
