Chapter 212: Getting a Girl’s Number
“So you have two sisters, huh? Both of them are older?”
Maria was, for whatever reason interested in what Alex had to say. Perhaps it was his abilities that enhanced his charm and attraction. Or perhaps it was simply the fact that she had a second hot guy to hit on her during today’s shift, or maybe it was the fact that aside from Alex the store was completely empty and so she had time to chat. Whatever the reason, Maria asked this question, which caused Alex to open up a little about his life.
“Yeah, I do… Although our relationship is a bit… unique… We spent a lot of time away from one another due to complicated family reasons, and have only recently gotten back in contact. I can honestly say I forgot what it was like to live with two older sisters.”
Maria could see the genuine smile on Alex’s face when he talked about his family. And this gave her a favorable impression of the man. Thus, she continued to ask him questions about his personal life despite the fact that they were total strangers.
“The way you smile when you talk about them, it seems like the two of you are close, do you have any pictures?”
Alex smirked when he heard this, and quickly retrieved his phone, where after carefully navigating through his phone so that none of the pornographic videos and photos he took of himself and his conquests were on display, he finally retrieved a nice and wholesome photo with him and his two sisters.
The photo was taken from a buffet at one of the many casinos that Alex and Diana owned. It showed Kristina and Madison fighting one another to see who could properly feed Alex a spoonful of their favorite dish. Meanwhile, Alex seemed distressed by the whole ordeal.
The photo had been taken by Diana, and when Maria saw it, her eyes practically sparked in excitement as she spoke about Kristina and Madison’s appearance.
It was only after a few seconds of silence passed that Maria realized she had just called Alex a ten to his face. Which caused the man to smirk once more than he asked for the woman’s phone number.
“Oh, you think I’m a ten? Well, if that’s the case why don’t you give me your number and I’ll take you out to eat sometime, or maybe drink if that’s more your speed?”
Maria blushed when she heard this offer. She had just met this man today, and he was already asking for her number? Even Angel, who had repeatedly come into her store to buy flowers and chat with her for months now had yet to ask such a thing.
But Alex didn’t wait for an answer. He pulled out his phone and held it at the ready in a not-so-subtle way. This caused Maria to feel slightly guilty as she pulled her phone out of the purse and exchanged numbers with Alex.
Once they had concluded this little exercise, Alex smiled and spoke to the woman in a far more casual tone.
“Oh, that’s right… I don’t believe I got your name. I’m sure you heard earlier, but I’m Alex… Alex Smith!
Maria blushed once more than she heard this. She was previously phased by the fact that she finally had a man’s phone number in her contacts that she wasn’t related to. She wanted to say something, but her voice failed her. She continued to blush and avert her gaze for several seconds until she finally mustered the courage to speak her name.
“Maria… Maria Santiago…”
Alex forced himself to wear the most charming smile possible as he spoke to the woman in an equally alluring tone.
“Maria… That’s a beautiful name! Well Maria, I’ve got to get going, but I’ll send you a text later today. Talk to you later!”
After saying this, Alex swept up the roses from the counter which he had paid for before walking outside the store, where another cab was waiting for him. Luckily for him, he had rolled the dice well, because Maria’s affection for him slightly increased.

Upon seeing this news, Alex smirked before entering the cab which drove him away. It would be a difficult and thorny path to conquer this kind hearted and traditional beauty. But he figured his game plan was to essentially make her fall head over heels in love with him, like 200/200 affection before exposing his secrets to her.

In another part of Mexico city, Angel sat down at the desk of his hotel room. There was a hideous expression on his otherwise handsome face as he thought about the blonde-haired gringo who dared to interfere in his conversation with Maria.
Ever since he first spotted the young woman attending to the flowers in the garden outside the shop, Angel had desired her for himself. He had done extensive research on who she was, and what liked, what she disliked, et cetera. And had perfectly crafted a façade that was sure to make her fall head over heels for him.
But it had been several months, and he had stopped by every day she was working, yet she was still so reserved around him. He was almost certain that he would make her fall for him, or at the very least agree to go out with him today. But that golden-haired shit just had to intervene. It made the man absolutely furious!
Still, making Americans disappear was a good way to get the US Army knocking on his door. After all, the American politicians were already threatening to intervene against the cartels with military force, and that was the last thing that Jalisco needed right now. Thus, Angel could not overtly make a move against Alex simply because the man had intervened in a conversation.
However, while Angel was coping and seething over this minor disturbance in his plans. He received a video call on his computer from his little sister, causing him to sigh heavily before accepting it.
“Big brother where are my lilies?!?!”
No amount of drugs could possibly quell the frustration that Angel currently felt as he sat in his seat and stared at the gorgeous face of his younger half-sister who had disrupted his seething session over such nonsense.
