“Yup, you’re going to be the Green Messenger starting from now”, Liliya said which makes Rex can’t help but raises his eyebrows in surprise, the news greatly caught him off guard.
Collecting himself, Rex then asks in confusion, “How can he make me the Green Messenger?”
“He didn’t even contact me at all since I manage to confirm the UWO to ally with the SCO, what about the King?! Is he even going to allow this?”, Rex added.
The news about the Green Messenger giving his position troubles him,
Although Rex has already become a part of the SCO even before he becomes an Awakened, he never felt burdened by it since the Green Messenger is pretty lax and carefree.
He only gives two missions during Rex’s time in the SCO,
Because of that, Rex finds it very convenient to be a part of the SCO while he himself can do whatever he wants without being restrained by the organization.
But now, things might change which really troubles him.
“I don’t know about the details, but you should ask the Green Messenger himself. You might just worry for nothing, at best he’s probably too lazy to even deal with the green team”, Liliya said.
Rex frowns but he eventually accepts the fact as he will visit the Green Messenger later.
‘I hope what she said is the true reason’, Rex thought with a sigh.
After helping Katya, Rex and the others went back to Eqosa City in the hope Gerrard’s team will already be there so they can plan their departure back to Ratmawati City.
The mission is already done, and thankfully Rex has no casualties on his side.
Upon arriving back at Eqosa City, the same guard that escorted Rex before is already waiting for him at the gate as his eyes lit up when he saw Rex return.
“Sir!”, the guard greeted before bowing politely.
Seeing the guard, Rex then asks, “Is the other team already here yet?”
“Yes, they just came back a moment ago. They’re in the resting quarter, and the leader of the group seems to be asking for you”, the guard replied.
Rex nodded his head before he made his way back to the hotel,
A couple of hours later, Rex is in the restaurant section drinking while waiting for Gerrard to come down from his room.
When he’s searching for Gerrard before,
Turns out Gerrard is currently in his own room so Rex has no choice but to wait for him.
Rex intends to let him rest for a moment,
It must be at least be tiring for Gerrard to fight against the other companies of Undead, so Rex was not just about to rush and asks for Gerrard right away.
Beside him is Evelyn who accompanied him,
Since they’re in the hotel again, they’re not in their armor as they changed into normal clothes.
Rex is wearing a casual white t-shirt and short pants that the hotel provided for him so he can be comfortable, and so is Evelyn who’s wearing a white crop top.
Because of the shirt, Rex’s muscular figure is exposed clearly.
The muscles on his arms make the already big white t-shirt looks small, his chest and abs muscles are visible through the thin fabric of the white t-shirt and even his legs muscles are stacked densely looking strong and powerful.
Saying he’s a great toned guy is even an understatement,
The same goes for Evelyn whose figure is also exposed clearly making Rex sweat a little.
Her graceful manner and her tapering fingers added with the curves that cannot be hidden under her clothes makes her a sight to see for men’s eyes.
She even teases their eyes by wearing a crop top showing her silky flat stomach.
Evelyn’s curious gaze was locked onto Rex as she saw him drinking for the first time, her eyes never left Rex as he averted his gaze by focusing on drinking.
‘Why is she here? I told her to not follow me’, Rex thought as he takes a sip of his drink.
The burning gaze coming from his side can be felt clearly by Rex,
Evelyn didn’t avert her gaze at all as she supported her chin with her hand with her eyes locked onto Rex in amusement, she then suddenly said, “You’re acting weird today”
“This brings back the first time you’re in my room, very docile like this”, she added.
Hearing this, Rex glance at Evelyn briefly before his eyes land on Evelyn’s neck.

‘What?! How did this happen?’, Rex thought as he widen his eyes in shock.
The sudden drop in Sanity shocks him as it almost never happened except for that one time, his sanity stays in the seventies but now it dropped slightly.
It surprises him to see a notification such as this,
‘Did I need to add more pack members?’, Rex asks but the system didn’t answer.
This makes Rex frustrated as he can feel a slight pang in his head, ‘Is it because of her?’, he thought while looking at Evelyn’s eyes.
But he shakes his head, ‘Even when I’m with Rosie, I think this kind of notification never happens. What is this?’
Rex remembered the time when he almost did it with Rosie, he’s trying to remember if there’s a notification like this but he shakes his head, ‘I can’t remember, but I don’t think there is’
While Evelyn is constantly teasing him with her eyes,
Just by the entrance to the restaurant section, Rex suddenly saw Gerrard stepping in before he immediately jumped from his seat and went to Gerrard.
This makes Evelyn chuckles to see Rex avoiding her like this,
“Gerrard!”, Rex called out from the side attracting Gerrard’s attention to him.
Seeing Rex walking towards him, Gerrard also approaches Rex before both of them sit at a nearby table as they need to report to each other about their mission.
“How did the fight goes? Did your team suffer any casualties?”, Rex asks.
Hearing this, Gerrard was silent as he looks at Rex with an unreadable expression.
The way Gerrard looks at Rex is unsettling before he finally opens his mouth, “Are you the one that killed the seventh rank Undead?”
‘There’s no use hiding it’, Rex thought.
He then replied, “Yes, I encountered it when I’m scouting the edge of the forest. We fought very hard and somehow I ended up in that place which you surely know where and manage to kill it by some luck”
Since Gerrard knows about Durrant and was aiming for him,
Gerrard surely knows about the battlefield where Rex killed Durrant, his team is the one that roams the forest so it’s not surprising for him to find the battlefield.
Upon hearing this, Gerrard squints his eyes for a moment.
He then sighs before he turns his face away, “We encounter an unexpected Undead in the forest aside from the seventh rank one that you killed… It’s a Death Knight”, Gerrard said as this makes Rex widen his eyes in surprise.
The word Death Knight is something that holds quite a bearing in the Undead race,
Rex already read about the Undead race in the system’s information that he bought before embarking on this mission, and in that information also lies the different types of Undead by rankings and this Death Knight is a high rank one.
None of the Death Knights has power below the sixth rank,
Death Knights can be in numerous forms of Undead, they can be a type of Lich, Skeletons, or even Zombies but they are all more wicked than the normal Undeads.
These Death Knights are the ones blessed by the Netherworld,
Just like a Werewolf that has been accepted by the moon and can harness its power, these Death Knights are similar to that but they’re accepted by the Netherworld instead.
It’s a blessing for the Undead to be accepted by the Netherworld,
Lich Overlord, The highest rank type of Undead that should be the Undead’s race King or Queen gave an Undead with high potential an opportunity to interact with the Netherworld which if accepted birthed these Death Knights.
In fact, the system specifically describes the Death Knight as having pure Death Energy.
The death energy they possess is not the same as the ones the other Undead possesses, but theirs are death energy directly drawn from the netherworld which is several times more powerful and denser than normal death energy.
It is a form of almighty energy, and it cannot be purified as easily as normal death energy.
Because of this Netherworld death energy manipulation, they tend to be pure evil and very sick to their core and disregard any lives aside from theirs.
Even other Supernaturals loathes them as they have holier than thou code,
Only the Lich of Overlord and the Basilich are the types of Undead superior to Death Knight in the entire Undead race, this shows how high up they are on the ladder of high-rank Supernatural.
If put in comparison, these Death Knights are similar to the Archdemons of the demon race.
“The Death Knight has only peak sixth rank power, but it’s not an easy foe”, Gerrard mutters.
Even his prideful side where he always puffed up his chest and lift his chin was nowhere to be seen, it’s clear that this Death Knight is not an easy opponent.
Durrant might even be weaker than this sixth rank Death Knight,
In fact, Rex is sure that the Death Knight should be stronger than the seventh rank Durrant.
Gerrard then added with a dejected look, “Three of my team members are in the hospital right now, the Death Energy from the Death Knight is corroding their bodies fast and I don’t think they will make it”
“Even my higher rank light element can’t suppress the death energy, it’s too strong”
Hearing this, Rex frowns as he didn’t expect this.
‘Is it the weird aura I sense when I enter the forest? I know that it’s at least peak sixth rank but to think that it actually belongs to a Death Knight, I miscalculated to not help Gerrard’, Rex thought as he regrets underestimating the sixth rank aura he felt.
The news makes Rex’s face turns into worry, ‘This might be exploited by Sebrof’
‘The mission stated that every casualty will be punished, and although the casualty comes from Gerrard’s team Sebrof can just spout some bullshit to restrain me’, he thought.
After thinking that, Rex glanced at Gerrard as he replied, “I’ll see what I can do”
Gerrard looks at Rex in confusion before he eventually nodded his head and went back to his room.
Although he looks fine just from a glance, Rex can see that he’s trying to hide the fact that he’s hurt but Rex can feel the death energy coming from his chest area.
Evelyn sat on Gerrard’s seat before she asks, “What’s wrong? What did he say?”
“Three of his member got injured badly by a Death Knight, it seems the three won’t make it out of here alive”, Rex mutters with a frown on his face.
This makes Evelyn surprised as she also can’t believe they met a Death Knight,
Because of this, Rex then asks, ‘System, Is there any cure for the injuries inflicted by the Death Knight? I can’t afford to let any of them dies’

Reading this, Rex instantly buys the High-Level Elemental Core.
It was a bit expensive to buy, it costs him 120,000 gold to buy three of them which really takes a huge chunk off of his total gold before Rex frowned when he was about to buy the Blazing Purgation Fire.
Turns out it’s not an item, but a spell instead.
‘It’s a fire spell?’, Rex thought with a frown, but his eyes then landed on Evelyn.
Evelyn tilts her head in confusion when he finds Rex is looking at her in thought, but Rex then finally said, “Come with me, we’re going to check on the injured ones”
A moment later,
Rex and Evelyn arrive at the room where the injured Awakened is.
Upon looking at the three Awakened that have half of their bodies blackened because of the Superior Death Energy, Evelyn frowns as their bodies are on the brink of death.
“It’s worst than I thought”, Evelyn mumbles as she looks at the three Awakened.
Rex finds a familiar face amongst the three Awakened, she’s the woman that fought with Dray at the banquet that goes by the name Valery from the Safran Family.
Without wasting any time, Rex looks at Evelyn before he stretches his hand to her.
Seeing this, Evelyn was confused as she steps back since Rex’s hand is heading towards her forehead, “Don’t move…”, Rex mutters lightly.
After his index finger touch Evelyn’s forehead,
Swish!
Evelyn suddenly jolted when rows of information enters her brain about a new spell called Blazing Purgation Fire, her mind and body instantly knows how to conjure the spell.
“How did you…”, she mutters in disbelief.
But Rex cuts her mid-sentence as he said, “Do the spell right when I say so”
Rex then approaches Valery who’s lying on the nearest bed before his hand suddenly glows with white light mana, it’s a blinding light that encompasses the entire room.
Even Evelyn closes her eyes since the light is very blinding.
The blinding light then covers Valery’s entire body before it started to dim,
Rex did this to the two other Awakened as their body glowed with light mana that is fighting against the Pure Death Energy, the two energies create a couple of sparks.
“Do the spell to them now, hurry!”, Rex commanded.
Hearing this, Evelyn was still confused but she follow Rex’s command and did the new spell.
‘System, What is the success rate probability for the Pure Death Energy to be cleansed from their bodies?’, Rex asks expecting the worst.
The system stated before that this procedure might cleanse the Pure Death Energy,
Just from how the system recommends a procedure to Rex using the word ‘Might’, it’s clear that there’s a probability of failing.

Reading this, Rex frown as the success rate probability is too low for his liking as he already anticipated that this procedure will fail on one of the three Awakened.
But 40% means a likelihood of failing on two Awakened out of the three.
Evelyn’s hand suddenly glows with incorporeal fire which shocks her,
“Blazing Purgation Fire…”, Evelyn chanted as she touches Valery’s body, the fire, and the light mana supported each other as it fights the Pure Death Energy.
Valery’s body started to burn hotter making her frown in her unconscious state,
“Rgghh!”, Evelyn grunted when the Pure Death Energy resisted the two energies, the bead of cold sweats on her forehead started appearing as this process drains her mana rapidly.
Looking at this, Rex then takes out a vial, “Drink this…”
“Where did you get this from?”, Evelyn asks amidst maintaining the spell on Valery.
But Rex immediately replied in concern, “Just focus on the spell and don’t think about anything, if you fail the three of them will die”
Without questioning Rex, Evelyn chugged the blue vial as her mana got revitalized.
After getting her mana restored by the blue vial, the incorporeal fire started to burn brighter as Evelyn focuses on cleansing the Superior Death Energy.
Rex saw that the blackened part of Valery’s body started to get better,
It takes almost an hour before all of the blackened parts of Valery’s body turn normal, the Pure Death Energy got cleansed from her body thankfully.

The system notification confirms Valery’s state before Rex gives a couple more vials to Evelyn as she started to do the same procedure to the other two.
After about two more hours, “Ahh!”
Evelyn got flung back when the Pure Death Energy consumes the light mana and destroys her incorporeal fire, the last Awakened only got half cleansed before the procedure failed.

Reading this, Rex massages his forehead as the last Awakened failed to be cleansed.
Although the probability is low, Evelyn manages to heal two of them which beats the odds but the last Awakened failed to be cleansed from the Pure Death Energy.
It’s already as expected though,
Rex was about to tell Evelyn to try cleansing the Pure Death Energy from the last Awakened again but the system’s notification stopped him,
