“I’ll kill that Enchanter this night myself”, Rex said while grinning mischievously.
Upon hearing this, Gistella was confused as to the sudden change in Rex’s vibe from gloomy to horrifyingly cheerful in a snap.
The grin on Rex’s face didn’t fade as they walks back to the descendants,
Rex went back to the others with wide strides making Dray who is sitting on the ground jolt up, the surrounding place is a badland so there’s almost nothing except for rocks.
This is why Intuma’s company spotted them easily earlier.
Nothing can act as their cover thanks to the very bad terrain that looks like a dead plain with hardly anything around, dead trees are the only thing besides rocks around here.
Dray stands up before he approaches Rex,
Seeing the grin on Rex’s face can’t help but make Dray think that Rex just thought of a plan, the gloomy vibe around him vanishes instantly.
Rex then glances at Liliya and Velten before signaling them both to come here.
While standing in front of the three, Rex then asks while looking at the resting wounded, “How many able people that can still move around freely?”
“My team is still completely fine except for two people”, Velten replied.
Liliya glance at her team before she added, “About three, we got hit hard by the liches”
“Six Awakened can still go including me, the rest can hardly move with the injuries they sustained”, Dray added in turn with a helpless sigh.
Although none of them died, the aftermath is gruesome leaving only a handful.
Hearing this, Rex nodded his head since this much is enough for the plan that he just thought of, “Pick half of them to go around this place to search for the Undead that manages to flee”
“I can feel their presence still hiding around here, so they shouldn’t be too far”, he added.
The sudden instruction makes the three frown since the ones that flee the battlefield are the stronger ones, it’ll be difficult to catch them all, especially with the condition they are in.
While Dray and Velten can only frown after hearing Rex’s instructions,
Liliya who also thought the same thing as them speaks their mind, “The ones that manage to run are all at least fifth rank and above, it’ll be hard to find and kill them”
“I’m not asking you to kill the Undead”, Rex suddenly replied.
This makes the three look at Rex in confusion before he added, “I want you to capture them”
“Capture them? That is more difficult than killing them”, Liliya rebutted upon hearing this, capturing the Undead is a harder thing to do than killing them on the spot.
Dray also nodded his head in agreement from the side, “They won’t just let themselves be captured, it’s practically almost impossible to catch them with the state we’re currently in”
While the three of them are complaining, Rex shook his head.
“I’m not asking for much, just about twenty or thirty of them will be fine. The three of you will stick together, and I’ll also try to capture some myself”, Rex said shrugging his shoulders.
After a moment of persuading the three, they finally agreed.
It’s due to the fact that Rex told them to group up and capture the Undead one by one.
Rex also told the three of them to meet back here before the sun goes down just like before, but they can go back earlier if they manage to catch enough Undead.
Aside from that, Rex also emphasize that he didn’t need too many.
‘It’ll be hard to restrain many of them at one go, about thirty is probably enough right?’, Rex thought rubbing his chin in thought.
But he eventually decided that it was enough,
While Rex was about to mount Delta, his eyes were suddenly attracted to Evelyn who is sitting amidst the wounded Awakened and black hands.
She glances at Rex questioningly making Rex sigh,
Rex approaches Evelyn who is looking at him with a demanding look before he said, “We’re going to capture the Undead that manages to flee, you stay here and rest”
“Why do you need to capture them? What are you planning?”, Evelyn asks with a frown.
Although the wounds on her body have already been healed by Morana, she is still exhausted thanks to the Pneuma Spell that she just cast before.
Even Rex himself can only do ether blink so much,
The Pneuma Spell is a very powerful spell that contains a mix of mana and spiritual energy, it’s taxing to use especially for those who are not used to using the spell.
Hearing this, Rex smiles mysteriously as he replied, “I won’t go into the details”
“But all you need to know is that if this plan works, you guys don’t need to fight the other company of Undead”, Rex added making Evelyn even more curious about his plan.
When she was about to persuade Rex to tell her the plan,
Rex beats her to it as he glances at Evelyn, “You need some explaining to do”, he said.
“Explaining? What kind of explanation do you wa-“, Evelyn mutters but then she suddenly realized as her words stop mid-track.
Her expression makes Rex smirk as he added, “That spell earlier, that’s sound magic isn’t it?”
Evelyn can only smile back mysteriously mocking Rex’s reluctance to tell her about the plan, she then replied with a teasing look, “All you need to know is that it’s a secret”, she replied before giving Rex a teasing wink.
‘This woman…’, Rex thought feeling a bit annoyed since Evelyn used his line on himself.
After sighing, Rex finally turns to his back-mounted Delta before he glances at Gistella, “You go with the other team and protect them, I don’t want anything to happen to them do you understand?”
“Yes master, I’ll protect them with my life”, Gistella replied, bowing her body slightly.
Hearing this, Rex was caught off guard.
He looks at Gistella and finds that she’s serious about what she said, Rex then can’t help but say, “Just do your utmost best, don’t throw your life easily”
After saying that, Rex signals to Dray, Velten, and Liliya before they all move out.

Meanwhile, Faraday University.
Rex’s room,
After the accident last night where a sniper takes action even though they are on the university ground, Edward and Kyran become alert.
They told Adhara about last night’s attack as she too becomes alert,
Edward already told them that it’s unlikely for the sniper to come from the Atkins Family since the Atkins Family doesn’t have anyone like that, but it’s not fixed since they might hire someone.
But still, no one mad enough will accept an assassination inside the university ground.
Kyan also explains that the sniper seems to not be an Awakened, he told Adhara and Edward that there’s no sign of mana coming from the sniper’s body.
Even when the sniper uses the red energy to escape, Kyran can feel that it’s not mana.
Then again, the sniper’s target is not to assassinate but rather to kidnap Ryze which makes the three of them confused as to who the identity of the sniper is.
Because of having Rex’s parents and Adhara’s father as a guest,
Mrs. Greene and Robert slept in Rex’s room, and Adhara’s father sleep in the empty room.
Adhara let Rex’s parents sleep in the master bedroom while she went to sleep in Rosie’s room, while Edward sleeps on the sofa since he doesn’t have any choice.
Sleeping with Adhara’s father is out of the option because turns out he’s a heavy snorer.
He decided to just stay here in Rex’s room, sticking together will be better until Rex got back.
The sun is already up in the sky as Adhara steps out of her room with the two daggers that Rex gives her in her hands, her workout outfit shows that she was about to train.
Upon passing the guest room, she found Edward playing with his phone.
“Edward, What are you doing?”, she asks making Edward turns his head to her.
Hearing this, Edward turns his attention back to his phone again before he shows the screen to Adhara, “Look! The UWO and the SCO’s meeting has been officially announced”
“Really? When is the official date?”, Adhara mutters taking Edward’s phone.
Adhara scans through the news and finds that there’s no fixed date yet, but the UWO has officially announced that they will be allying with the SCO to fight the Supernatural strongholds.
The people have a positive view of this, they all support the alliance between the UWO and SCO.
After reading through the news, Adhara gives back the phone to Edward before she leans her cheek on the sofa Edward is sitting on and asks, “Do you want to spar with me?”
“Oh? Are you feeling confident to actually challenge me again?”, Edward replied teasingly.
This makes Adhara pouted, she has to admit that even though in terms of Awakened power they both are in the same realm, Edward’s skills in close combat are still way above her.
She spars with Edward a couple of times while Rex is gone, but she ended up in defeat still.
“This time, we can use our elements during the spar”, Adhara said with a grin.
Hearing this, Edward sighs as he knows what Adhara is planning, “Do you really want to beat me that much? Rex will certainly be disappointed”
“Shut up!”, Adhara rebutted making Edward chuckle.
But when Adhara was about to ask again, the sound of a door opening and closing can be heard making Adhara poke her head to see the hallway.
“Father? Are you going out?”, Adhara asks as she saw her father coming out of the room.
Russ glanced at Adhara and Edward briefly before he scratch his head and said while still walking towards the entrance of the room, “I feel like a prisoner in here, I’m going out to smoke”
Adhara glance at Edward with a meaningful look before he instantly knows what she means,
“Let me accompany you, sir! I also want to get some fresh air”, Edward stands up from his seat.
Seeing this, Russ waves his hand, “Suit yourself”
The both of them leave the room leaving Adhara alone, she sighs when she finds that there is no one else that she can ask to spar with.
Adhara wanted to ask Kyran but he seems to be in a bad mood.
Kyran is in grumpy mode since he got back from the hospital, Adhara even notice that he sometimes sneaks out but she didn’t remind him or anything.
It’s just useless to forbid Kyran from doing anything, she decided to just leave him be for now.
As long as he didn’t leave the university building, Adhara is okay with it.
Without having no other choice, Adhara decided to just go train in the training ground alone intending to try the daggers that Rex give again.
Even though it’s still early,
The training ground is already packed with students training, all of them are training hard trying to get stronger showing that they’re quite dedicated.
Adhara even finds some regular faces here, she got motivated upon seeing this.
The golden orb above Adhara attracted the students’ attention since it shows that Adhara is one of the top-ranker, she was just below Rex and above Kevin who is number three in the university.
If he wanted to, Edward can take the third rank from Kevin.
With the black fire that he had from getting influenced by Kyran’s darkness, his element should match or be even stronger than Kevin’s dark fire.
But it seems Edward is not interested in rankings,
“Is that the daggers that she used before?”
“Yeah! I think so, will she burn another room to a crisp this time again?”
“I think that daggers are a high-rank equipment, for Adhara to not be able to control the daggers shows that the daggers are at least sixth rank or above”
The students around started gossiping as Adhara walks past them.
Adhara heard all of this which makes her cover her face in embarrassment, the last time she used the daggers she accidentally exploded the entire quiet room leaving it in maintenance ever since.
Her purple fire went havoc every time she tries to activate the dagger,
Even though all of her attention went to controlling the daggers as she imbued them with purple fire slowly, she never last for more than ten seconds before the purple fire went chaotic.
Adhara was about to head to a quiet room that she usually uses,
But the room is still under maintenance which makes her go to the room beside it, she was about to enter the quiet room before suddenly someone called her from the back.
“Adhara!”, a manly voice called out from the back.
Hearing this, Adhara turns around and finds a guy approaching him.
Adhara squints her eyes while she looks at the guy since she finds the guy’s face is familiar, even the guy’s smell is familiar signing that she definitely has met this guy before.
The guy stops in front of Adhara with a smile and said, “Do you remember me?”
“Have we met before? You look familiar”, Adhara replied bluntly.
Upon hearing this, the guy felt hurt but he was not complaining as he said, “My name’s Brock, I’m also a part of Ochyra University’s team back when you and Rex participate in the tournament in Faraday University”
“Oh, right…”, Adhara mutters with an awkward smile.
Although Brock already told her who he is, Adhara still can’t remember him.
With a wry smile, Brock then scratches his head before he asks, “Sorry if I interrupt you, I just wanted to ask if you see Rex anywhere. I wanted to meet him before I go back”
“Rex? I’m sorry, he’s not in the university currently”, Adhara replied lightly.
Meanwhile, just beside the university’s entrance.
Edward and Russ are smoking near the entrance as they enjoy the sunlight.
Although Edward looks calm, he’s actually really alert since they’re outside of the university ground even though the entrance of the university is just by them.
The attack from before shows that the sniper is willing to go to extreme lengths.
Both of them talk about the military since that is what they have in common, they’re chatting while looking at the busy street filled with cars and motorcycles passing by.
While they both are talking and smoking calmly,
There comes a point where they both just enjoyed smoking in silence, but after exhaling deeply a frown suddenly appears on Edward’s face, ‘Wait a minute…’, he thought.
‘Now that I thought about it, Where is Ari?’, he thought in confusion.
Although the sniper attack suddenly from afar which is very hard to track if not for Kyran, Ari is nowhere to be seen even after Kyran confronted the sniper.
He was supposed to be always on the lookout in the university,
‘I also didn’t find the two Awakened that are supposed to guard Rex’s parents’ house’, Edward thought again, Edward frowned while thinking this.
Back when he went to Rex’s parents’ house,
Edward didn’t pay much attention but now that he thought about it, he didn’t meet with the two Awakened from the Reed Family that are supposed to guard the house.
But while he’s thinking, his phone suddenly rings.
“I’m going to answer this for a moment”, Edward said to Russ after throwing his cigarette to the ground before stepping on it.
Russ nodded his head nonchalantly,
Edward then walks a bit to the side and answers the phone, “Zelene? Why are you calling me this time? Did you miss me already?”
“Uncle? What’s wrong with him?”, Edward asks with a frown.
Zelene on the other side said something which makes Edward starts to frown again, he then immediately replied, “Okay, I’ll check on uncle when I have the time”
After saying that, Edward turns off his phone before he went back to Russ.
But his phone suddenly rings again,
This time, Edward looks at the caller before he slides the answer button, “Linda? Is there something wrong?”, he asks.
“Right now? Can you tell president Vargas about this?”
“Okay that’s fine, just send them here”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be careful. At least help us reach for Rex when he got back”
After saying that, Edward puts his phone down before heading back to Russ.
Russ glanced at Edward and saw there was an urgency in his expression, Edward then said, “Sir, let’s go back inside after you’re done smoking”
