On the horizon, Alister’s figure emerged, his silhouette as radiant as the setting sun as he approached the central part of the jungle.
His presence alone seemed to ripple through the air, announcing his return before he even arrived.
In the clearing ahead, his generals stood. Wyverns perched on the towering trees, and dragon kin, both warriors and civilians, gathered.
Mar’Garet was the first to notice him.
Her crimson eyes caught his figure, her expression turned static as she smiled, her cheeks blushing as her voice rang out with unrestrained excitement.
“Welcome back, my darling!”
The crowd stirred at her words, all turning their attention skyward.
Even Cinder, now in her humanoid form, paused and looked up.
As Alister descended gracefully to the ground, his presence was met with gazes of reverence.
All present lowered their heads, their voices filled with respect.
“We pay our respects to the Overlord.”
Alister’s voice, deep, echoed over the gathering.
“Rise,” he commanded.
The dragon kin lifted their heads, and some of them began to cry as they realized their families were among those Alister had returned with.
The sight of loved ones they thought lost brought an overwhelming feeling of relief and joy. Alister turned to the dragon kin that arrived with him, his golden eyes softening as he spoke. “Go now. Your families are waiting.”
The dragon kin hesitated for only a moment before rising to their feet, their tears flowing freely.
They rushed forward, tails wagging in excitement, as they embraced their loved ones.
Cries of joy and laughter filled the air as families reunited, their bonds stronger than ever in the presence of their Overlord.
Mar’Garet rushed over to him. Without even pausing, she wrapped her arms around Alister’s waist.
“You’re as radiant as ever, my love,” she said, looking up at him with shining eyes, her breath coming out in steamy gasps.
“Saving those dragon kin… and arriving in such a breathtaking way, such is to be expected from my Overlord.”
Alister placed a hand on her shoulder, calm yet commanding.
“Compose yourself, Mar’Garet. That is an order.”
Her lips curled into a mischievous smile as she reluctantly pulled away.
“Anything for you, my love,” she said, straightening herself. With a soft hum, she dusted off her feet, her crimson eyes filled with contentment.
As she settled, a soft chime echoed in Alister’s mind, and a system notification appeared before him.

Skill Description:
The blood of an Overlord carries unparalleled power, teeming with regenerative and rejuvenating properties.
When consumed, it transforms other beings into dragon kin. The more of the Overlord’s blood a creature consumes, the closer they come to achieving the status of a full dragon.
This skill allows the player to share their blood with others to add them as members of their family, allowing the player to properly guide and control their evolution via the Dragon Stratus Tree. Each member becomes bound to the Overlord and gains significant enhancements in power and vitality.
Current Household Member Limit: 0/2,000
Additional Effect: If the player offers their blood to a ‘female dragon,’ she will be registered as a spouse. The Overlord’s bloodline is precious; this thus slightly amplifies his allure, increasing his charm toward females regardless of race while increasing base hostility among males as well.
Alister’s thoughts raced as he read through the window.

‘System… Do you want to play matchmaker now? How convenient… As if Mar’Garet isn’t enough already.’

The reason it is necessary for heirs to ensure only living offspring of the previous Overlord become the Overlord is due to the necessity of possessing the qualifications to control and safeguard the unique laws the Dragon God obtained after he consumed his creator.00
Such laws are necessary to maintain balance and keep celestials in check.00
When an Overlord has a child, the bloodline is diluted, and a creature that isn’t a royal dragon won’t be able to take control of the said laws. Hence the need for one to consume the
other.00
That last part came as a surprise to Alister.

This is the very reason the royal bloodline members can never be more than two in each

Alister found this odd. ‘Why didn’t the royal bloodline members simply interbreed and become large enough to prevent the need for such a thing? Then the king would simply pass down his throne to his first child.’
The player’s question is valid. However, the Overlord of Creation, Sonoris, imposed this rule as a failsafe. A larger royal bloodline would increase the risk of infighting and instability, which could lead to a division in the dragon race. This would make them more focused on fighting each other instead of performing their duties and could lead to the potential misuse
of the laws.00
Alister was shocked to see that name.
‘Hold on… Wait, I did this?’
The system didn’t give a response.
Alister then asked, ‘This doesn’t make any sense… What if the one who inherits the laws is the
one who misuses them?’ he said, as he recalled the Overlord candidates from Kealan’s
memories-the brother who hunted down the other.
Then at the very least, the dragon race wouldn’t be divided.”
