Chapter 370: Raining Fire, Raining Death

Twark!

Cinder’s talons punctured the ground beneath her, tearing apart roots and soil, ripping apart the trees to reveal those hiding within. Their faces went pale as they watched in horror.

“RUN!” one man shrieked in terror, his voice nearly drowned out by the rhythmic pounding of her footsteps and the relentless blasts of flame.

Another yelled, “This isn’t our fight! We’re leaving! NOW!”

The remaining men began fleeing in chaos, desperate to escape the fiery abyss.

With a final, searing breath, Cinder rose into the sky, her powerful wings beating against the air, sending her higher and higher.

She turned in mid-air, her crimson gaze following the fleeing figures below.

Her roar filled the heavens as flames rained down, drenching the jungle in fire and the screams of her victims.

“THIS IS FOR MY BROTHER!” she cried, her voice a thunderous storm, demanding vengeance for those she had lost.

…

The battlefield stretched out before Mar’Garet and Alzuring, a vast expanse littered with the desperate, fleeing figures of humans.

Mar’Garet, in her humanoid combat form, twirled her spear, the tip gleaming as it cut through target after target. Her crimson eyes glowed, chuckling as she manipulated the very laws of gravity and motion, a fierce smile on her lips.

“Time to show them what happens when you mess with a dragon,” she whispered to herself.

Suddenly, ten humans charged forward, swords raised, their desperation etched into their faces.

In an instant, Mar’Garet halted the motion law for them, their limbs locking mid-stride.

With a flick of her wrist, her spear lashed out, cutting through them like a blade through butter. Severed heads and limbs soon piled up on the floor.

The screams of agony followed each clean slice as gravity law crushed them into the ground, their bones shattering beneath her power.

One by one, they crumpled, bodies twisted grotesquely. The air was filled with the smell of blood and crushed earth.

She heard a massive boom in the distance, accompanied by Cinder’s voice. She then looked back at the humans as she said, “It appears I will have to pick up the pace. I don’t want to be outdone by Cinder now.

“She’s being awfully loud too.”

Her spear gleamed again, motion law halted for another group. This time, the agony was swifter, more bloody as she sliced her weapon through them. Slicing, twisting, and crushing—with a twisted look of delight on her face.

From a hill above, Alzuring stood in his humanoid combat form, exuding an intense aura.

His bow was drawn, the mana string taut. Each arrow he fired carried the force of a tempest, obliterating everything in its path.

“Target 77,” Alzuring said, his voice steady as he loosed the arrow.

It burst through the air, striking down a human mid-run, slicing them in half cleanly at the waist.

The force was so intense the arrow slammed into the earth with a massive BAMM! The upper body was completely crushed to the ground as the lower half tumbled forward.

The remaining humans gasped in horror, their eyes wide with fear. Shock rippled through the group as they witnessed the devastation wrought with each arrow.

“Target 78,” Alzuring said, releasing another arrow. This one hit a man directly in the chest, obliterating the upper half while the head remained intact. The impact sent a crater into the ground as the lower body and skull fell to the earth, dust billowing into the air, scattering blood and organs all over the place.

The rest of the humans fell to their knees, shaking with fear.

“Target 79,” he said again, and another arrow tore through a man, disintegrating him from the neck up. His head was blown into pieces, and the rest of his body collapsed.

It was chaos.

Some humans tried to run, their legs moving frantically in a desperate bid for survival, but Alzuring’s precision was unmatched.

He could see all of them clearly, and his arrows never missed.

“Target 80,” he said again. The arrow tore through a man’s side, turning his entire upper body into a mist of blood and bone shards.

“Target 81,” another arrow. The ground shook as a crater formed beneath the corpse, the force of impact sending chunks of dirt and debris flying into the air.

One by one, Alzuring’s count rose. “Target 82,” “Target 83,” each arrow more devastating than the last.

Mar’Garet was impressed by his skill. “You’ve reached 85 already, Alzuring? Perhaps I’ll have to step up my game.”

Alzuring gave her an intense glare, redirecting his gaze and releasing another arrow.

“Target 86,” he said. “Target 87,” he fired.

“Target 88,”

As the numbers climbed until…

“Target 99,” Alzuring said, loosing a single massive arrow. It flew through the air, tearing through a group of humans at once, crushing them entirely under the weight of its force.

Blood, bones, and screams filled the air as the ground beneath them caved in.

“Done here,” Alzuring said coldly, his eyes scanning the area. “No more humans left.”

Mar’Garet looked up from her ruthless destruction, her crimson eyes flickering with approval. “I guess you’re not half bad, Alzuu,” she said, a smirk on her lips.

“What is Alzuu supposed to mean?” Alzuring asked with a look of irritation and curiosity on his face.

Mar’Garet chuckled, twirling her spear in her hand, crimson eyes gleaming with amusement.

“Alzuu…”

“It’s a nickname, of course. You know, to make things less… formal.”

Alzuring’s piercing glare snapped toward her, his expression cold. “Don’t ever call me that again.”

Mar’Garet smirked, clearly unfazed by his icy tone. “Oh, come on, Alzuu. It suits you.”

He raised his bow toward her, his expression hardened further. “I’m serious. Call me by my name or not at all.”

Mar’Garet tilted her head, feigning innocence as her lips curled into a mischievous smile. “Not even in private?” she teased, twirling a lock of her hair around her finger.

Alzuring turned away, his focus shifting back to the battlefield.

“Never,” he said flatly, raising his bow and loosing another arrow into the distance, silencing any further argument.

Mar’Garet let out a mischievous laugh, shaking her head. “You’re no fun, Alzuu,” she whispered.

He didn’t respond, though his tightened grip on the bow gave away the fact he heard her but chose to ignore it.

They then began to head toward the center of the village, where they believed they would meet up with their lord.

“But what would you do if I start calling you that after I have my lord’s first child and I become queen?”

Alzuring shot her an intense glare, “Such a nightmare will not come to pass, so I am not worried.”

Mar’Garet simply giggled as she said, “You know it’s a possibility.”

Alzuring then said, “Hardly, if you do become queen, I’d balance my entire body on my bow.”
