Robbie Reyes came with his racing suit and was a little bit startled as he stepped out of the portal. He didn’t know where he was, and as he looked around, he didn’t even recognise who most of these people were! But he noticed that the place was ravaged just like an aftermath of a big battle!
Robbie backed away from the weird purple man in front of him as he didn’t know him, but he noticed Dio among the group of people. Obviously, if Dio summoned him here, it meant there was an enemy he must face!
“Is this guy the enemy right now?” Robbie asked as he pointed his finger to the purple man behind him. Thanos was obviously offended by the way Robbie addressed him!’
“Is this your reinforcement? It is a little disappointing!” Thanos said coldly. Aside from a few people who didn’t know about Robbie, everyone else was just quiet as they knew how much of a headache Robbie could be.
“Oh wow, you’re disappointed in me before even facing me? I hope you can still say something like this after we duke it out!” Robbie said annoyedly. Thanos immediately frowned as the flame from the meteor strike on the ground vanished.
Suddenly, a blue flame burned vigorously on the ground! It was a strange phenomenon as Thanos didn’t know what Robbie could do. The flame began to rise a few meters from the ground and formed a circle around Thanos.
“You didn’t even say hello as I came out of the portal. Did anyone ever teach you some manners?” Robbie indifferently said as he smiled at Thanos. He immediately threw his chain towards Thanos, binding the Mad Titan tightly.
Thanos wanted to set himself free with the Infinity Stones’ power, but he found that it wasn’t that easy as he couldn’t even move his hands. What made him even more surprised was that the chain on his body wouldn’t break with his sheer power!
This was quite interesting for Thanos as he had never encountered this kind of situation before. Furthermore, Robbie turned into his Ghost Rider form and set the chain on fire! Robbie immediately pulled Thanos towards him easily, which confused Thanos even further as he had never encountered anyone who could rival his strength.
Surely, Thanos had never encountered the Ghost Rider before this!
Meanwhile, Natasha and the others were quite shocked to see that Thanos was easily handled by the flaming skeleton! Who could say that a skeleton has the power to drag a mass of muscle like Thanos so easily! It was a scary scene for anyone who didn’t know who Ghost Rider really was!
They suddenly remembered the scene when Thanos handled the Hulk like a little kid earlier. Thanos indeed had more power than the Hulk at that time. Furthermore, they remembered that they had no answer to Thanos’ strength even when they ganged up on him earlier! But the skeleton in front of them right now did everything they wanted to do earlier so easily!
Only Dio knew what was happening right now yet didn’t change his expression the entire time. Although the scene was surely shocking, Ghost Rider hasn’t done much against Thanos! His blue flame of hell didn’t burn Thanos’ skin, but surely it reinforced the chain that shackled Thanos to make sure that Thanos couldn’t escape it!
Robbie also seemed to grasp the opponent’s power as his ordinary attack didn’t seem to work. He no longer threw the Mad Titan around but pulled Thanos directly in front of himself and stared at his eyes!
“Look into my eyes!” Robbie said confidently. A whirlpool of flames appeared in Robbie’s eyes and drew Thanos’ soul towards it. At the same time, Dio was smirking victoriously as Thanos easily fell under Robbie’s ability. It was the Penance Stare that would burn every sinner’s soul that the Ghost Rider laid his eyes upon!
Thanos had already killed so many people in his life, so it went without saying that his sin would be tremendous! The Penance Stare should work no matter how much Thanos struggled. Even the Soul Stone on Thanos’ hand wouldn’t do much to help him in this situation!
But what happened next left Dio dumbfounded!
“Impossible! Why aren’t you affected by my ability? Didn’t you murder people in cold blood before?” Robbie said confusedly. The Penance Stare didn’t do anything to Thanos. The Soul Stone on his hand didn’t even glow!
Thanos finally broke free from Robbie’s chain and looked down upon the shocked Robbie.
“Your ability is interesting. It forced me to look back on those that I had killed! But this is still too early to repent for my sin! Maybe I would like to have you burn my sin away sometime later!” Thanos said with a smile on his face.
“Is there no trace of guilt in your heart? I saw that you already destroyed many civilizations, planets and even killed people with your own hand mercilessly! Don’t you ever feel guilty for any of that?” Robbie said confusedly.
“Guilt? Why would I feel such a thing? Everything I do is a tremendous help to ensure that the universe can continue to last longer, for all species to continue thriving! The universe is too cramped right now, and someone has to fix it! Someone has to cull down the population here!” Thanos said confidently. Robbie was silent after hearing Thanos’ words as he never expected his Penance Stare to fail against a killer like Thanos!
Robbie knew that Thanos’ word made a lot of sense as the population was surely too high right now, while the resources in this universe wouldn’t be enough for everyone! This overpopulation would only lead to war and even more despair!
Thanos’ method of doing things might be wrong, but he still did it for a greater cause! This was why Penance Stare didn’t work on him, as what he did wasn’t considered to be a sin! No one was willing to sacrifice themselves in order for everyone else to live. Thus, a method of randomly killing half of the universe would be the correct method for the survival of the entire universe!
This was why Thanos never felt guilty by what he did. He never felt that what he had done to others was wrong in the first place!
Dio also knew about this reason, and it was a horrifying thought to have for even someone like Dio!
