Dio and the Grandmaster started to play the game casually. After Dio gave the first move to the Grandmaster, he groaned and picked the right leg of the doll on Dio’s hand and chose number 7! Dio then tore off the right leg of the doll he held and threw it towards the Grandmaster! The Grandmaster caught it and immediately turned giddy as it indeed had the number 7 on it!
“I am such a lucky guy!” The Grandmaster said with a smug. He then walked towards Topaz and picked one of the 7 swords placed on the shelf, and immediately thrust it into Topaz’s right leg without any hesitation. For a moment, Dio saw Topaz’s expression turned sour, but she resisted it and just groaned out of pain, clenching her teeth to keep her composure.
Blood was flowing down Topaz’s legs. At this rate, it was safe to say that either Topaz or Scrapper 142 would die even if Dio didn’t use his [Reaper’s Gaze]! Even so, Topaz that was just stabbed on the leg just now still had the audacity to look at Valkyrie tauntingly. Dio didn’t understand where this resentment came from, but he totally didn’t care about it!
Valkyrie, who wasn’t in the mood to deal with any of this, began to wonder what she had done wrong to receive such treatment! Although Dio had assured her that he wouldn’t lose and would heal her injuries afterward, she was still anxious about the game! It was all because of the Grandmaster! Hadn’t it for him, she wouldn’t be trapped here right now! One thing she was certain of was that she wouldn’t stay on this planet after this game was over!
“Your turn! Don’t end this game too soon!” The Grandmaster said excitedly. Dio then put his hand on his forehead and immediately used Epitaph once again. He saw that he chose no.1 in the future and the Grandmaster marked no.1 on the heart of the doll, meaning that Dio lost the game! But he didn’t care about it now and immediately used [King Crimson] ability and deleted the unfavourable future.
“Is everything alright?” The Grandmaster asked as he noticed that Dio was just standing there without doing anything. Dio then used Epitaph once again as he deleted the future when he chose number 1, and now he chose number 2, which turned out to be the number on the left arm of the doll, and Dio didn’t have to change this future!
Dio quickly shouted number 2, and as expected, the Grandmaster took off the left arm of the doll, and it was indeed number 2! Now, Dio knew for sure that he couldn’t pick number 1 as it would end the game completely with his loss!
“It seems my luck isn’t so bad either!” Dio said with a smile on his face. Dio then walked towards the sword on the shelf beside Valkyrie and immediately stabbed Valkyrie’s left arm with it! Although it seemed cruel, Dio was actually helping Valkyrie! If she became the Grandmaster’s avatar, her life would be over for sure as Dio didn’t have any intention to lose!
In that sense, Dio was confident in winning, and Valkyrie would be as good as new once Dio healed her. No matter how badly she was injured, she could be easily cured by using [Gold Experience]’s ability or even [The World]’s Reality Overwrite ability. Even if she really died, Reality Overwrite would be enough to resurrect her, although it would consume quite a lot of Soul.
But with the amount of Soul he had accumulated beforehand, it should be enough to resurrect a person! He knew resurrecting a person wouldn’t require as much as making the Serpentine Gate disappear! Valkyrie groaned as she felt her bones were broken when Dio stabbed her, but she toughed it out as she wasn’t some weak chick that would cry from that level of wwound.
“It’s your turn again!” Dio said calmly.
“Number 1!” The Grandmaster said confidently.
“You keep getting lucky!” Dio said as he tore off the left arm of the doll, revealing the number 1! The Grandmaster smiled, and once again, picked up a sword and stab Topaz’s left arm with it! Now, the doll had no left arm on both Dio and the Grandmaster’s side!
Now that it was his turn to pick again, Dio touched his forehead once more and then shouted number 3! It turned out to be Valkyrie’s right arm, and Dio immediately stabbed it before giving the turn back to the Grandmaster!
“I also choose number 3!” The Grandmaster said, and Dio revealed it to be the left leg. The Grandmaster stabbed Topaz’s Left Leg, and it was Dio’s turn again.
“Number 4!” Dio shouted confidently. Now, it was Valkyrie’s right leg that would be the target. After they have taken 3 turns each, they both were short of “safe limb” now. Valkyrie had her left leg left, while Topaz still had her right arm! But now that the probability of picking ‘Head’ or ‘Heart’ increases, the game would end soon!
“Hmmm, Number 5!” The Grandmaster said as it was his turn to pick. Dio remained calm and tore the doll’s chest, revealing that number 5 was in the doll’s chest! Dio’s expression remained unchnged, but he was glad that the game was finally over!
Valkyrie tried her best to persevere as she had lost so much blood, but she instantly felt relieved when she heard that the Grandmaster had picked the heart! Every time Dio picked a number, her heart beat insanely fast as she was nervous that Dio would pick a heart or a head, but thankfully it would end soon!
But at the same moment, she saw the Grandmaster smiling while walking towards Topaz with a small knife in his hand. “As long as the avatar didn’t die, you don’t lose, right?” The Grandmaster confirmed.
Dio immediately frowned as he realized that the game wasn’t over just yet! Topaz watched the Grandmaster calmly stabbed her heart with the sharp knife, but she really didn’t die! The amount of blood that spilled out of her wounds should be enough to kill anyone else, but not her!
“Uh, in order to avoid the misunderstanding here, allow me to explain what is going on! Topaz’s race has three hearts, so it’s natural that she would be alive if only one is destroyed! Now, this shouldn’t be a problem, right? It didn’t violte any rules of the game, after all!” The Grandmaster grinned at Dio.
He really was a sly old man, the most cunning individual in the entire universe!
