Gabriel looked up in shock and saw her eyes open. He moved back a little, his hands trembling in excitement. Tears streamed down his face.
“Rose, Rose,” he called. He immediately hugged her tightly on the bed. “You’re back, sob.”
“We will leave both of you to catch up. You deserve your time alone,” Silva said and walked out of the room with Lily and Drake.
In reality, all Silva had done here was mostly a lie. There was no risk to the procedure—this was Lily, the smartest in stuff like this.
She found the solution weeks ago, but back then, there was some risk, so she spent the time fixing it until it was a hundred percent perfect.
But Silva didn’t want Gabriel taking it for granted. He wanted to make Gabriel scared, and when she was truly cured, he would hold the deepest respect for Silva.
All this was just a game that had to be played well. Silva just lived to always capitalize and play this game to the best of his ability, making sure that he made the best possible rewards from it.
“You two should get some rest. Tomorrow is the day we take a large step,” Silva said and left the both of them.
Everyone spent their last day preparing for what might be their greatest mission yet. Those that were not fully human met with Lily, and she helped them out, giving them a temporary human form.
They were still their true form inside, but the outside showed a different thing.
The next day, Silva stood in front of a massive mirror in his room. His hair was jet black, and so were his eyes, like they were the path to the abyss.
He didn’t exactly look different, but it would be near impossible to tell who he was. For good measure, he also added a tattoo of a large serpent beast coiling around his neck, the head coming to the side of his face.
“This looks good,” he said, also checking his gear. It was the simplest black armor he could get his hands on. It worked well for conventional combat and wasn’t too special.
He searched through all his armor to finally find this, and he liked it, mostly because it was black.
“Now for the sword. Drake should already be fine with it.”
Silva left the room and headed down the hallway to find Drake. He contacted him and asked Drake to meet him.
“I’m on my way to the throne room, master. I’m with the sword,” Drake responded. So Silva changed his course to the throne room.
He pushed the door open and saw that Drake was already inside waiting for him. Continue your adventure with empire
“You have to stop doing that every single time,” Silva said as he entered.
Drake chuckled but didn’t say anything. He just stretched out the sword for Silva to take. Silva collected it. It was in a black sheath, clean and simple.
He grabbed hold of the sword and pulled it out, holding it above his head. The blade was black, yet it didn’t look painted in the slightest.
Silva admired the beautiful blade. He brought it close to his face and took a look at the edges. The blade seemed sharp as hell.
“Damn, Drake, this looks crazy,” Silva said. He tossed the blade into the air and caught it by the handle. He took a few practice swings to get the balance.
The sword whistled through the air like it was cutting it. He spun a couple of times and slashed a few more before stopping.
He sheathed the sword and then looked at Drake. “Thank you. Now we can finally set off,” he said and hung the sword on his waist.
Everyone else was already waiting for Silva outside because he had said at the crack of dawn they would move out.
Drake nodded and led the way while Silva followed. As he got to the door of the throne room, he turned around and looked at the throne.
“It might be a while before I’ll sit on you again. Stay warm for me,” he said and walked out, the door of the throne room slowly shutting behind him.
Drake led him outside where everyone was waiting, all in human form. Silva was shocked to see this but happy as well. Now they would easily and seamlessly blend into society.
Though Lily had told him a drawback of these transformations, and that was the fact that they would not be able to use their full strength, that wasn’t really an issue now.
Silva was going with Dawn, Amber, Lia, Fay, Leah, Sage, and Aaron, an eight-man party including him.
Silva noticed that Leah had also changed her look from what it was before, mostly her hair and eyes, like Silva had done as well.
She was a hero candidate, after all, and even if she might not be really popular, a lot of people knew what she looked like, and they had been waiting for the opportunity to take her from Silva.
“Alright, everyone, it’s been a long ride here, and we might not really see each other much after today. But remember, we have a job to do, and we must do it.
Thank you all for honoring me and working with me. I’m not sure it would have been possible without you. And this is me pushing aside my massive pride and saying it as it is,” Silva said.
He walked to the large carriage that was prepared. It was more of a merchant carriage with a cover than a normal carriage.
It was used to move goods of all sorts rather than people, but it still worked for all. Silva entered the back, and so did the seven people that he would be going with.
Aaron sat up front. He would be the one driving the carriage, controlling both horses. As for Drake and the rest that would be in the shadow, they would be using other means to get into the city.
“Till we see,” Silva said, and Aaron used the reins to whip the horses, starting their journey.
