Chapter 1
Imperial City. Autumn.
In the extravagant room of a mansion, a delicate face was seen in the mirror of the dressing table. The face looked pure and untainted, its grape-like eyes were full of energy.
Luo Yangyang looked at herself in the mirror.
After a while, she got up.
Then, she walked downstairs in a strapless blue dress.
It was her mother’s wedding that day, and she was the bridesmaid.
At the turning point of the stairs, Luo Yangyang came face to face with the best man. He was her stepfather’s son.
“Bro.”
Luo Yangyang glanced at Feng Sheng, who was wearing a dark blue suit. His features were sharp, and his eyes were cold. She did not dare to look at his solemn face.
“…” Feng Sheng peered at the meek Luo Yangyang who was in the corner of his eyes.
She was standing still obediently. Her immature looking face shocked him.
She was so quiet and innocent, and she looked so pure that it was scary.
It was so terrifying that it made one have the urge to destroy her.
Nevertheless, in his cold demeanor, he did not respond to her.
On that narrow staircase, Feng Sheng stopped as he stood next to her.
“Don’t call me bro, you’re not my sister.”
They were standing on the same step, but Feng Sheng did not even look at her.
“…”
His cold voice sounded in her ear. It was so cold that she felt like it could pierce her bones. Luo Yangyang’s eyelashes fluttered, and she lowered her head even more.
She knew very well that the child of her stepfather wanted nothing to do with her.
After that short conversation, Feng Sheng continued walking upstairs. Luo Yangyang stood motionless on the spot. She only lifted her head to look at him after he had gotten out of her sight.
In the blink of an eye, Feng Sheng’s tall body disappeared at the corner.
He gave out a terrifying aura even from the back of his head. No one dared to get close to him.
The wedding went smoothly.
Not a lot of people attended the wedding. The people who attended the wedding were mostly her stepfather’s friends and family.
That night, the youngsters wanted to party. As the bride’s daughter, Luo Yangyang was unable to refuse. Hence, she followed everyone to Imperial City’s largest club, The Crown.
In a luxurious private room, Luo Yangyang watched handsome men and beautiful women drink and chat without a care in the world. She felt out of place as she sat on a sofa.
She wanted to get out of there even though it had only been 10 minutes. However, because of her special status that night, she could not.
A waiter brought in some more alcohol, and she asked him for a glass of water. The waiter was shocked by her request, but still fetched her a glass of water nonetheless.
Luo Yangyang did not want to drink any alcohol, so she took a sip of her water without thinking too much.
After seeing her drink the water, Ye Shayan who was sitting diagonally across from her let out a cold and profound smirk. She played with her long curly waves as she peered at Luo Yangyang.
Luo Yangyang was feeling bored, so she kept nursing her water. Just as she was about to finish her glass of water, she felt that something was wrong.
Then, her whole body began to burn without reason. The heat was traveling from her heart all the way down to her abdomen.
Luo Yangyang’s breathing was rapid. Her eyebrows furrowed as if she was in deep thought.
She glanced at the glass of water in her hand and immediately put it on the table as if it was on fire.
What was going on?
Why was her body so hot? Could it be that she had been drugged like what You You had said?
But…
It was not some dodgy bar. How could she have been drugged?
Even though everyone was acting crazy around her in the private room, no one was really paying attention to her.
After a while, Luo Yangyang felt like her brain was going to explode, and she felt dizzy. She did not notice Ye Shayan looking at her as she lowered her head to rub at her temples. Ye Shayan gave a young man a signal.
Even though Jiang Haifeng had been flirting around with different girls, he had also been paying attention to Luo Yangyang at the same time. After getting Ye Shayan’s signal, he put down his glass and walked over to sit beside Luo Yangyang as if it was the most natural thing for him to do.
“You’re Luo Yangyang, right? Hi, I’m Jiang Haifeng.” Jiang Haifeng was grinning from ear to ear. He looked friendly.
Luo Yangyang was extremely suspicious since she was feeling weird. Not to mention, Jiang Haifeng was suddenly flirting with her. She was on high alert and thus replied to him with a cold, “Hi.”
“Why is your face so red? Are you feeling not well?” Jiang Haifeng looked at Luo Yangyang with concern in his eyes. He looked surprised when he saw her red face. He pulled her up and said, “Come, why don’t I take you somewhere else to rest?”
Even though it sounded like a question, Luo Yangyang could not reject him from his actions.
Luo Yangyang’s vision turned blur as she was pulled up suddenly. She felt an unknown desire well up in her heart after accidentally coming into contact with Jiang Haifeng’s body.
Shaking her head to try to stay awake, she pushed Jiang Haifeng and ran without hesitation.
She needed to get home, and not with just anyone at that. Especially not a man.
Jiang Haifeng was startled. He was not expecting Luo Yangyang to have the strength to push him away. After seeing her run away, he decided to chase after her.
Luo Yangyang’s felt like her feet were not hers, she was in a dire state. After getting out of the private room, she ran straight into a chest.
