“How shameless! Don’t you even think of going back on your word, Ling Chuxi. The fifth princess is our witness.” Lan Xinyu’s face fell and her fists were clenched tightly. Clearly, she thought Ling Chuxi was trying to renege on their bet now that she had lost.
Lan Xinyu’s earlier words were very loud and therefore they had attracted quite a few spectators. The majority of them pieced together the story behind this spectacle and were looking on in excitement to see how it developed. Some people thought that Ling Chuxi was bluffing and some thought she might actually win. Xia Zhuoyi stood by the sidelines and watched Ling Chuxi’s calm face fill with a wide smile. In his heart, he understood that Ling Chuxi wasn’t the kind of person who would play a bluff or renege on her word. Truth be told, even he didn’t understand what was going on. He hadn’t interacted much with Ling Chuxi wouldn’t be counted as a person who could claim to understand her, but somehow at this moment, Xia Zhuoyi was absolutely certain that Ling Chuxi would definitely win!
“It seems as though you still don’t understand what I’m saying. Your level of intelligence causes much anxiety.” Ling Chuxi sighed and then slowly took out a blood-red egg from the folds of her sleeves. The bright luster emanating from the egg allowed people to identify it at once.

Lan Xinyu’s face turned thoroughly pig-liver red this time. A monster beast’s egg?! How was this possible?! Ling Chuxi actually had a monster beast’s egg in her possession!
Lan Xinyu lost! Lost! Everything was finished!
This item did not even need a teacher’s valuation judgment. Lan Xinyu knew—she had already lost. She really lost! It felt like heaven and earth were spinning. A sense of despair overwhelmed her, consuming her in a craze.

“So what will it be, Teacher? Are we in first place for this year’s training?” said Ling Chuxi with a smile to the stunned teacher-in-charge of registration.
“Ah, yes, yes… Well, no…” The teacher subconsciously nodded but he felt as though this judgment was not quite appropriate. No matter who won based on his judgement, the loss was an outcome he couldn’t bear.
Lan Xinyu hopelessly raised her head to look at the monster beast’s egg in Ling Chuxi’s hand. The hand she had tucked into her sleeve was shaking non-stop at the sight. Lost. She really lost!
“Ah, both yours and Lan Xinyu’s groups have good results. Therefore, if nothing else unexpected happens, this year’s training will end with a tie for first place. A tie. All of you are very strong. I hope all of you can continue to work hard. In the future, all of you will be the pride of White Stone Academy!” professed the teacher-in-charge of registration. He was sweating buckets and thinking of what to do to avoid losing students with such potential. A light bulb went off in his head as to how to avoid such an outcome and so he blurted out these words. After which, he was secretly pleased with himself for generating such an idea under pressure. Seeing as how this was such a smart solution, neither the Lan family nor a student with such abilities such as Ling Chuxi would be offended and leave the academy.
When everyone around them heard the teacher’s judgement though, they all fell silent. It was obvious it was a misjudgment. It was a monster beast’s egg! Such a precious item was actually judged to be part of a tie for first place. Everyone could tell the teacher was siding with Lan Xinyu.
Shu Yuanfeng who stood behind Lan Xinyu breathed out a sigh of relief. It looked as though there was still room to turn things over after all.
Lan Xinyu’s face went from a pale white to a sickly green. How could she not understand that the teacher was speaking blindly with his eyes wide open to side with her?
