"So you've been toying with me all along huh?" Xu Feng fixed his glasses, creating a sharp glint in reflection as he questioned Zhao Kai.
"Not at all. I don't overthink much like you do and I really came in here to enjoy some food. But I thought you would want some reasons along the way to follow through." Zhao Kai responded, proclaiming his innocence.
"You should know I really don't want to involve myself with complicated things, especially when it's a game. But for you, I did some investigation and research so that I won't become a burden. You definitely wanted my assistance, seeing how you tried to convince and persuade me previously to drop the school competition and join you."
Smiling briefly, Xu Feng nearly forgot Zhao Kai's intelligence was no less than his, albeit with less usage.
He got the brain, but he doesn't want to use it much, mainly because he wanted a carefree life.
However, just because he didn't want to use it and remain carefree, doesn't mean others would let him be. Otherwise, he wouldn't have lost contact with him in the future.
'Back then, I was occupied by the Reaver Guild, so I couldn't assist you. But not this time.' Xu Feng exclaimed inwardly, clearly enraged about what happened to Zhao Kai.
"Well, I'm glad you picked up on that, and I just treat it as a repayment for punching you in the face." Xu Feng calmly said, calling the staff from earlier and ordering the dishes that Zhao Kai mentioned, plus extra.
"Oh? Brother Feng, you really know how to treat a fellow brother." Zhao Kai laughed heartily.
"But there's too much food. Even if this is a game, there's a limit to how much I can eat. I was so damn full previously by stuffing myself too much." He scratched his head, seemingly embarrassed by the ordeal.
Imagine nearly killing himself because he over-eats?
That was definitely an embarrassing event and not something he would wish to divulge.
"Shadow Blade, you did do some research, but not enough. You have an inventory, and you can store the food there without worrying about it rotting." Xu Feng explained.
"Right, we have our inventory slot. How could I forget about it when I had the letter stored there?" Zhao Kai clasped his hands, acting as if he had been enlightened.
Xu Feng was speechless at the reaction. One moment, he was like an expert and intelligent folk, but the next moment, he turned into a fool-like person.
'Sigh, I need to learn how to interact with Zhao Kai in the future.' He made a mental note to himself.
He was afraid of losing his composure and mannerisms if he continued to interact with him in such a way.

After all, anyone who had managed to complete the Hell Mode difficulty dungeon at this stage when no one else was able to even clear Easy Mode spoke volumes of the achievement.
"It's this Silver Wind Guild topic again. I kept hearing them that I'm annoyed by now." Zhao Kai shook his head and said, seemingly disappointed by the discussion he was eavesdropping on.
"It's not a surprise that this kind of event would garner tons of attention everywhere." Xu Feng casually said, acting as if he wasn't an involved party.
"Tsk, it's just some First-Clear Achievement and extra advance rewards that might give them a head start when compared to others. It's not that big of a deal. Games are meant to be fun."
"But games are also meant to be competitive, otherwise, why would anyone want to level up and grind for equipment?"
"I guess it just depends on the player's mindset." Zhao Kai knitted his brows.
"Anyway, there's no point in listening to the conversation further. Let's talk about you. Did you choose a Gunner class?" Xu Feng smiled, shifting the conversation topic.
He was not a bit interested in the recruitment process of the Silver Wind Guild, especially when two people had already attempted to poach him.
Others might have wished for such an opportunity, but not him.
Why should he care about such an achievement when he could easily obtain them himself?
A few seconds went by, and Zhao Kai confessed, "I'm not a Gunner."
