“Bad news! Our earnings for this week have plummeted to about 80% lesser than the average! At this rate, we won’t be able to make any more profits for this month if this continues!”
An average salary man of a game company reported to his boss after he showed his boss the statistics of their average daily income from before and after. Judging from the reaction of his boss, the salaryman knew that their game had to be shut down if it didn’t reap any more profits.
“What’s the cause of this!? How can our profits lower this much? Did the world experience a financial crisis or something?”
“Not to mention, you only showed me statistical data! Where is the report for the cause of our profit loss?”
The game company boss slammed his fist on his desk furiously as he yelled at his subordinate’s half-assed report. Not only did his subordinate forget to give him the reason for the cause of their profit loss, but he also didn’t even provide any solution!
If only their company had more intelligent minds within their midst, the boss wouldn’t have to slam his fist on his desk almost every day. He rubbed his forehead out of stress as he waited for his subordinate to compose himself after his outburst.
And it seemed that his subordinate didn’t come unprepared when his subordinate reported to him about their company’s problem since, without any hesitation, his subordinate took out another report from his folder.
Reading the contents of the folder, the boss of the game company knew that it was the cause of their major profit declination.
“So you are telling me, that the cause of our profit loss was because of someone who sold his SSR characters to other players? Therefore, the players who bought those SSR characters no longer spent their money on the gacha rolls which were our company’s main source of profit, right?”
The boss asked his subordinate after reading the report that his subordinate had given him while he tapped on his desk using his finger impatiently, waiting for his subordinate’s response.
The man’s boss’ impatient actions caused him to tense as he was nervous to respond to his boss but if he didn’t respond, he would be fired from his job which he didn’t want to happen.
“Yes, boss. From my investigation, the cause of it is an anonymous player who sold their SSR characters through either the gift function or trade function of our game. I don’t know how they amassed countless SSR characters but from what I have asked the moderators and administrators of the game, they had checked that the anonymous player didn’t have any cheats so he obtained those SSR characters by luck.”
Without any choice, the man answered his boss’ questions. Either he answers his boss’ question and gets fired if his boss wasn’t satisfied with his answer, or gets fired by his boss. Of course, the salaryman chose the former.
“That’s bullshit! From your report, you stated that the anonymous player who went by the alias of ‘Supreme Luckster’ had sold a total of at least 700 SSR characters in just a week, right?”
“Do you really believe that obtaining 700 SSR characters is still because of luck? How about I give you a thousand rolls and let’s see if you can get 700 SSR characters?”
Not only the boss, but the salary man also knew how ridiculous his report was but it was the truth!

So getting one SSR character was already difficult let alone 700 SSR characters without using any cheats was almost impossible. Not to mention, the 700 SSR characters they knew about were just the number of SSR Characters that Supreme Luckster had sold.
So, it wasn’t far-fetched to claim that there were more SSR characters in Supreme Luckster’s inventory since it was impossible for him to just own 700 SSR characters. After all, he dared to sell that amount of SSR characters which only meant that those SSR characters that he had sold were duplicates.
Judging from that, one would know how absurd it was to own that many SSR characters. Even the boss of the game company couldn’t believe such an event to occur.
It wasn’t unusual for gamers to use cheats to obtain the SSR characters they wanted but all of those said cheaters had already been banned from the game. Even the cheat engine that was invented by the <Supreme Inventor> was detected by him so he, the boss of the game company, dared to claim that there weren’t any cheaters that could slip past his game’s security.
That was why the boss could only think of two possibilities for such an unusual event to occur. Either Supreme Luckster was using a cheat engine that was much stronger than the <Supreme Inventor>’s or he was just extremely lucky.
The boss believed that the latter was more probable considering that the player dared to use that alias. And only the <Supreme Programmer> could create a better cheat engine than the <Supreme Inventor> and since he knew the <Supreme Programmer> all too well, he knew that the <Supreme Programmer> wouldn’t resort to using a cheat engine.
After all, as the boss of the game company and also the <Supreme Game Developer>, there were a few instances where he collaborated with the <Supreme Programmer> in developing games with him. And he was also friends with the <Supreme Programmer> so he knew that the <Supreme Programmer> wouldn’t cheat.
“Sigh, just update the game and remove the trade function and gift function. That will minimize the decrease in our profits. Although it will cause dissatisfaction from some users, it is better than losing lots of profit.”
“Yes, Boss!”
The salaryman left when his boss gestured for him to leave, as the boss was left alone in his office, rubbing his forehead out of stress again.
