Kent gazed at the screen displaying a multitude of skills and techniques—things he’d never imagined could actually exist somewhere in the universe.
He’d done a few fantasy movies, so he was familiar with some of these fictional abilities, but he’d never considered that they could be real.
As he looked through the list, Vexthra turned to him with her usual piercing gaze.
“I promised I’d give you the power to have any woman you desire, and I intend to keep that promise. But before we continue with what I have in store for you, I need to tell you about the world I’ll be sending you to. Your previous world is just a low-level one, with no cultivation.”
Kent nodded. He had no intentions of returning there anyway. His parents were gone, and as an only child, he felt no strong ties. As for uncles and cousins, he knew they’d be fine; his assets would be passed on to them once his death was discovered.
“The world I would be sending you to is called Sonox, it is a Medium-level world. And before you ask, worlds are grouped into different levels. The world you came from is a low-level world and as such, low-level worlds don’t have Spiritual Qi to cultivate and grow stronger.
“But aside from that, there is a Medium, High, Immortal, God, Supreme, and Celestial worlds. Based on the naming you should know they each have different power levels”
Kent nodded. He doesn’t need someone telling him a High world would be superior to a low-level world. What troubled him though was the fact that she wasn’t sending him to a high world or even a God world instead of just a Medium world.
“You’re probably wondering why I’m not sending you to a god world, considering I want you to kill a god. It would only be natural to go there instead,” Vexthra said rhetorically. Kent nodded.
“That’s because, although I am a goddess, I don’t have the authority to manipulate the laws and send you there. Since you won’t be transmigrating into another person, it would be hard to send you there.
The same is true for an immortal world. The laws are just as strict there, so sending you to those two areas is next to impossible.”
“What about a high world?” Kent asked. At least a high world would be a step up from a medium one.
“Although I can work my way into sending you to a high world, it wouldn’t be something you could survive, considering the kind of life I have in mind for you—or more precisely, the kind of power I have in mind for you,” Vexthra replied.
Kent raised an eyebrow at that. ‘The kind of power she has in mind for me. What kind of power would be that disadvantageous for me?’ Kent wondered.
“It’s simple, actually. You’re doing this so I can help you live the life you never had in your previous one. So tell me, say you went and slept with the wife of a king who is a Spirit King—do you think you could defend yourself?
“Of course, I did promise to make you powerful, but I can’t just make you immortal. What I can do, though, is give you the power to grow stronger. So while going to a high world would make you grow faster, it would also be dangerous.
“And like I said, you’re the only one who can help me now, so I can’t afford to send you into the lion’s den. Even the medium world I have in mind for you is just a few steps away from becoming a high world, so that place is also dangerous.
But I have my reasons for wanting to send you there…”
“Go on,” Kent said. He didn’t really care where he went, as long as he could find Nether Caves to stick his rod in; he’d be okay.
“Sonox, as I said, is a medium world. However, it’s not a world for humans alone. It’s a mixed-race world where Humans, Dragons, Elves, Beastkin, and even Demons reside.”
“Demons are real?” Kent asked.
“Of course demons are real. I am a demon myself,” Vexthra said, watching Kent’s reaction.
‘Damn, I wonder how her p*ssy would taste,’ Kent thought, eyeing her with a glint of mischief. Vexthra, hearing his thoughts, reacted inwardly but hid it well—though, of course, the former p*rn director noticed.
Cough!!
“As I was saying, the world of Sonox has different races. I will be sending you to the Human Continent, to a kingdom called Althea. It’s one of the four kingdoms kingdoms with roughly ten cities. However, before you get any ideas, just know that this single kingdom is as large as a continent in the world you came from.
“The strongest there could crush you like an ant, but if you lay low for a few months and diligently use the powers I’ll be giving you, you can start roaming as you see fit.”
“Sounds good enough,” Kent said, looking more pleased with himself than before.
“Now, let’s talk about how you’re going to approach the task,” Vexthra said.
“I already know. You want me to kill the God of Alchemy, so it’s only natural that I become an alchemist. That would be the only way to get close to him and snuff him out, right?” Kent replied with a grin.
“Yes, but I don’t plan on making you just an alchemist. I’ll ensure you have the power to fight like a warrior and concoct pills like a true master. And, of course, you’ll also gain the ability to learn anything much faster,” Vexthra said, making sure Kent understood she meant every word.
“So, does that mean I’ll become something of a Grandmaster Alchemist right off the bat?” Kent asked with a smile. Alchemy was one of the professions he explored in his movies, so the thrill of actually having the chance to experience it in real life was enticing.
“No,” Vexthra said.
“But you’ll have a legacy with all the necessary knowledge in it. All you’ll have to do is build a foundation, which will make things even easier for you in the future.
“But before you get disappointed, know that once I hand over what I’ve planned for this mission, you’ll see that the task will be just as enjoyable as you can imagine.
“All I ask is that you do well and grow stronger so you can help me. Of course, I won’t have any influence over your life after you leave this place, so you could choose to ignore me and go live your life. However, I hope you won’t do that.
“After all, I’ve been planning this mission for the past two million years,” Vexthra said. Had it not been for her nature as the Goddess of Hate and Resentment, Kent would have seen the pain in her eyes. But even without the look, he sensed her pain in her tone.
“I promise I won’t slack off or abandon my mission. You’re giving me a second chance at life; I won’t waste it,” Kent said.
Vexthra paused for a moment, just staring into his eyes. Then, she extended her hand, and a small tower appeared.
“What is this?” Kent asked.
“It’s called the Tower of Inheritance, but after hundreds of thousands of years of fine-tuning, it has become something of a sentient tower.”
“Like a system?” Kent asked, his fists clenched.
“You could say that.”
“YESSS!” he shouted, punching the air.
