Kent woke up sweating.
He was now inside the Sword Gate, surrounded by the two lolis, Gaia and Akira.
“What happened?” he asked calmly, but the mood and aura around him were different. Gaia was happy, and Akira was not smiling, though she was happy.
She predicted Kent would remember his life as the Chaos Dragon, but from the sharp aura around him, it was no secret he had just returned from the memory of him as a swordsman.
“One minute, you entered the door; the next, you appeared here. It was a couple of seconds at best,” Gaia said, making Kent raise an eyebrow.
“A couple of seconds?” he asked.
“Yes, Master. You entered, and before we knew it, you were back inside the Sword Gate. It all happened so fast,” Akira answered this time, making Kent sigh.
‘I was there for a couple of minutes…At least that is what I remember.’ He said to himself
He stood up and walked toward the Sword of Enlightenment.
‘It’s the same sword as the one in that weird place,’ he said. He then turns to the two Loli’s beside him
“I will need the next few days to cultivate. Notify me if something happens while I am here,” Kent said before sitting in a lotus posture.
With his authority inside the tower, he could tell Alina was still not awake. But he wasn’t about to worry about that, considering she wouldn’t have any visitors in the outside world for the next couple of days.
She can sleep for a month, and only two days will pass in the outside world.
The two lolis left despite having so many questions. They knew what had to be done, so they left to give Kent the time to handle his affairs.
“So, I was just a slave and a dreamer, huh?” A small smirk appeared on his face as he went through the memories.
It was from when he was born up to when he declared that he would create his own sword path—the first sword path.
He was a slave for 16 good years. Then, he escaped under the watchful eyes of all the guards. They didn’t stop him, mainly because that was the way out created for all the slaves.
Afterwards, he joined a sect and was picked by a swordsman who became his master and taught him the path of the sword. He was a quick study, though the path back then wasn’t up to the standards.
“I have so many questions, like how did they know the Saint stage was the last for that path? Or wait, how did anyone know the path goes beyond the Sword King stage?”
He asked himself, but the answer came faster than expected.
“The Sword Dao”
The Daos are the paths set by nature. They are simply there. You don’t need to find a predetermined path to follow if you have what it takes to find your way.
The path is essentially about finding your own way to comprehend the Dao.
That was what Kent, as Jest, discovered. He knew that there had to be a way to keep moving, so he created a way to keep moving.
“I was a genius,” he smiled and extended his hand for his sword to appear. He stood up and drew his sword from its sheath, causing a powerful energy to engulf him entirely.
His sword intent and qi burst out; now, they appear more refined and deadly.
“As anticipated, the memories are like me reliving my life as Jest. My understanding of the sword has clearly improved, and it was because of Jest.”
He smiled as he remembered how he would sit down after his shift in the mines and gaze at the tall wall. He could now remember clearly how it felt when he was halfway there.
‘I was determined, focused, and brilliant back then. I need to be even more remarkable this time, considering I can learn and improve from my mistakes.’
Kent was rather very happy to have remembered that part of his past.
He was drawing closer to the Profound Sword Intent and Qi stage, and it was all thanks to his past as Jest. Now, he had a much deeper understanding of the basics of the sword.
This influenced not only his understanding but also the way he used his aura.
“I guess there is no better time than now to start practising for the Sword Saint stage. Who knows when the next set of memories will be given to me.”
He looked at the [Sword of Enlightenment] and sheathed his sword. He sat in a lotus posture and began comprehending the next 10,002 sword moves.
This time, he was using his mind instead of picking up his sword to practice. It was because he needed to train his mind to focus so that when he picked up the sword, no matter the situation, he could remain focused.
It was one of the many aspects every swordsman should have. Their focus should always be on the sword in their hands.
And to achieve that, they must train their minds.
Just like that, three days passed inside the tower, but Kent didn’t even move a finger. His eyes were closed, and the only things changing about him for the past three days were his sword aura and intent.
His presence was becoming much sharper and more refined.
It was as if he finally understood what a swordsman should be like. He spent two days going through Jest’s memories, which helped him come to terms with his path as a swordsman.
It wasn’t much, but he had changed so much that if he had when he fought the spear Saintess back then, she would have been forced to use 80% of her strength.
This meant a lot, and Kent, who still hadn’t had enough, was now practising the 10,002 swordplay techniques.
He wanted to reach a certain pedestal at least before the next memory came, which would be soon, considering his mission to assassinate Bright Faywood would also grant him a memory key.
That mission would be due in two weeks’ time.
That would be when he could get closer to Bright Faywood and initiate his assassination plan.
He saw the mission as a bad start, but it wasn’t all wasted. He will get a Memory key to open another set of memories.
Now, he wanted to see where he would go from there and why he would be known as the Savage Sword when he was clearly not a savage.
