That afternoon, dozens of carriages approached the gate of Slumdon Town, causing a stir among the city’s residents. They hadn’t seen traders or such a large group pass through in a long time. The sheer number of carriages was so overwhelming that some might have
mistaken it for an army preparing for war.
“What is that?” one resident asked.
“Those are the materials the Lord ordered to start the city-building process,” one of the workers replied.
“Are you kidding me? Did the Baron really spend that much money to build this city?” another resident exclaimed.
“This is unbelievable,” another said. “I can’t believe this.”
“I thought he had some ulterior motive, like enslaving us or something, but he’s proven himself true to his word.”
“But we’ll have to see what he does next, right? At least the current Lord is really showing his efforts,” another person replied, swallowing hard. “I regret not taking his offer seriously yesterday.”
“No, I still doubt him,” the first person chimed in again. “This can’t be done without a bad motive, right? They want profits, and there must be some sort of sacrifice involved!”
The carriages slowly made their way into town, eventually stopping in an open field that had been prepared to temporarily park them and offload the materials. From the most lavish carriage at the front, three figures emerged a man and two women, who appeared to be leading the group.
The man, who seemed to be a melee fighter, wore an eager expression. “Hahahaha!” he exclaimed. “Finally, we will meet our supreme leader, Broken, the Legendary Broken Player!”
“Shut up and act normal, RememberMe! You might embarrass Broken with your stupidity!” Forev complained.
Pussycat chuckled at their conversation. “This town is quite charming. I can’t wait to see what it will become in the future.”
“This is going to be a great city! I guarantee it! Hahaha!” RememberMe laughed loudly, drawing the attention of many onlookers.
“Hi, Slumdon people! I’m a BFF of your Mayor!” he shouted.
Forev quickly smacked RememberMe on the head with her bow. “Shut up, stupid!” she hissed. Igor, the Knight, escorted RememberMe and the others to meet Broken. As soon as Broken stepped out of the House of Slumdon, he was immediately greeted by the three guests he had been eagerly anticipating that day.
“Hahaha, Master. I missed you!” RememberMe quickened his pace towards Broken, attempting to give him a hug. But Broken was too quick, stepping aside and barely avoiding the embrace.
“Oh, Master, don’t you know how much I miss you?” RememberMe said with a big smile. “It’s been such a long time since we last met, but you’re so heartless to me.”
“Hello, Broken,” PussyCat, the blonde-haired mage, greeted with a warm smile. “I’ve missed you too.”
Forev, the black-haired archer with an Asian face, gave a wave. “Hi, Baron of Slumdon Town. It’s great to visit your city,” she said.
Broken smiled, welcoming them all. “I’m so happy you could come. I want to hear everything you’ve been up to.”
PussyCat shook her head with a chuckle. “Nothing too exciting on our end. Just a few troubles, thanks to our problem-seeking friend over here.”
“That’s not trouble; it’s entertainment, hahaha,” RememberMe retorted.
Forev shot him a glare. “This idiot nearly angered an entire village. If he hadn’t paid them off with gold, those NPCs might have chased him into the real world and burned him for real.”
“Hahaha, that’s too memorable. I still recall that moment vividly,” RememberMe responded. “But this game is a robbery! It’s taken so much of my money.”
“That’s because of your stupidity. Don’t blame the game!” Forev snapped.
PussyCat and Broken laughed at their conversation.
“Luckily, I’m very wealthy, so that amount of money is no problem for me, haha,”
RememberMe added.
Broken laughed and said. “Well, no matter what chaos you bring, it’s good to see you all. Welcome to Slumdon Town.”
They all entered the house and quickly took their seats in the room.
“Woah, this place is quite cool even though it’s barren and hot outside. Haha,” RememberMe commented, throwing himself onto the sofa.
“You sure can’t keep your mouth shut, huh?” Forev remarked.
“Anyone who sees this place would say the same, right, Master?” RememberMe said to Broken.

Just then, Yara entered the living room with a tray full of glasses of various beverages. She smiled warmly at the guests before setting the tray down on the table in front of them. She then offered each guest their drink of choice before stepping back and leaving.
“She is Yara, someone who has taken great care of this place,” Broken said. “Hi, Yara… are you getting paid well enough?” RememberMe then asked.
“Uhm… Ehm…” Yara was taken aback by the sudden question.
“Don’t worry, I’ll give you even more money for doing a good job,” RememberMe said. “Come to me and tell me, has Master Broken been treating you well?”
“I’m sorry,” Yara said, her voice wavering. “But I’m just a maid, sir. If you want to buy me, you’ll need to ask Lord Broken first,” she added hesitantly.
“Damn, who wants to buy you,” RememberMe muttered. “You’re not actually selling her, right, Master?”
Forev then smacked RememberMe on the head with her bow. “Just shut up; you’re scaring her.”
Forev turned to Yara and said, “Go on with your work. That guy clearly left his brain behind.” “Ye-yes.” Yara said before quickly walking away.
After Yara left, Pussycat turned to Broken. “Broken, why are there so many beautiful girls around you?”
“I heard you also invited three girls to bathe with you, is that true, Broken?” Forev asked, raising an eyebrow.
“What, really??? Master, you are so cool, hahaha!” RememberMe exclaimed with a hearty laugh. “Just a short time apart, and you’ve already transformed into a Harem King!”
“No, that’s not true,” Broken said. “Who told you that?”
“The girl with blonde twin-tails in front of the house warned us not to get too close to you,” PussyCat added. “Melliandra.”
“That’s a misunderstanding!” Broken said defensively.
“We wouldn’t mind if that were true, either,” Pussycat replied with a small laugh. RememberMe then laughed heartily. “Master, how have you achieved such great heights in such a short span of time? You should have stayed humble and let us help you out more. Now you’ve become the Harem King with so many women around you.”
Forev clicked her tongue in frustration. “Can you stop acting corny like that, you idiot!”
After a few minutes of chatting, Freya stepped out of the elevator and walked towards them.
“Hi there! Finally, you made it here,” she exclaimed.
“Haha, Freya. If it weren’t for you, I probably would’ve been forgotten by my Master Broken already. He forgets me so easily. I want to devote my life to him forever,” RememberMe said, his face showing regret as he kneeled down.
“You idiot, can you stop it already!” Forev yelled, her face twisted with anger as she kicked RememberMe’s knee. “You’ve taken your stupid role-playing too far. Shut up or I’ll kill you right here and now!”
They settled into the cozy living room, chatting and laughing while they sipped their drinks and nibbled on small plates of food. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with everyone enjoying each other’s company.
After a while, when the casual conversation had run its course, RememberMe spoke up with confidence, “Let’s get straight to the point, Master. About the investments!”
