Feng Xun darted a bemused look at Jun Linyuan.
Boss Jun had never given a damn about anyone or anything; why was he suddenly in the mood to tease Ning Chenxi now?
But Feng Xun didn’t give it much thought, for he was busy persuading Ning Chenxi at the moment.
“Ning Chenxi, have you gone bonkers? You’ll marry no one but Feng Liu? Do you even know what kind of girl she is? What are you thinking?” Frowning, Feng Xun found Ning Chenxi’s decision unbelievable. “Feng Liu is the worst. She’s snobbish, unkind, arrogant, and vicious…”
Ning Chenxi, who had looked rather shy only a moment ago, jumped to his feet at those words and glared at Feng Xun. “Cousin! How can you say such things about her behind her back? I guarantee you that Feng Liu is nothing like that! I’ve seen it with my own eyes. She’s the best!”
That almost gave Feng Xun a heart attack. Jabbing Ning Chenxi in the head with a finger, he said, “Are you blind or something? You’ve seen it with your own eyes? Feng Liu is the sixth daughter of the Feng family and used to run after Feng Wu. But once Feng Wu was crippled, not only did Feng Liu twist the knife, she even tried to kill Feng Wu. You call someone that evil ‘the best’? Are you nuts?!”
“Cousin!” Ning Chenxi’s eyes were bloodshot red as he said solemnly, “I respect you as a cousin. But, if you say one more bad thing about Feng Liu, you won’t be my buddy anymore!”
“You —” Feng Xun was so frustrated that he felt like choking his idiotic young cousin. “You’ve lost your mind!”
“I haven’t! She’s the best! She is! No one can say anything bad about her when I’m around! I’m going to marry her and no one can stop me! Cousin, even if you can’t offer me your blessing, the least you can do is respect my decision!” Ning Chenxi said with a straight face.
Feng Xun fumed like an erupting volcano.
Jun Linyuan darted a nonchalant glance at Feng Xun. “Mind your own business.”
Feng Xun was vexed to begin with, and Jun Linyuan’s comment nearly made him choke on his own breath.
Glaring at Ning Chenxi, Feng Xun said, “Fine, fine. I stuck my nose into your business. You want to marry Feng Liu? Marry away! Go ahead! I’ll wait to see how long it’ll take you to regret it!”
Ning Chenxi glowered at Feng Xun. “We’ll be very happy together!”
Feng Xun waved him off. “Aren’t you supposed to be getting reinforcements from Anping City? Go, go now —”
“But cousin, with you guys here, what other reinforcements do I need?”
“I don’t want to see you now! Get lost!” Feng Xun kicked Ning Chenxi in the butt.
Ning Chenxi jumped onto his horse and promptly set out, yelling over his shoulder, “Cousin, you guys go help the people of Wanping Town first. My mum and Feng Liuliu are both there. Promise me you’ll keep them safe for me —”
“Feng Liuliu? I’m gonna throw up!” Feng Xun swore he was getting a headache as he watched Ning Chenxi dash off. Turning around, he asked his buddies, “Tell me now. Is it me, or there’s really something seriously wrong with him?!”
Jun Linyuan darted Feng Xun a glance without saying anything. He then flicked the reins and dashed off first on his snowy white horse.
Concerned about the current situation in Wanping Town, Feng Xun pulled the reins on his horse and charged out after Jun Linyuan!
An idea suddenly struck him and his stomach lurched. “Oh god!”
Xuan Yi gave Feng Xun a bewildered look. “Why are you so jumpy today?”
“If Feng Liu is in Wanping Town, what about Feng Wu? We tricked her brother and sent him to the imperial capital in secret. Feng Wu will definitely go after him, and she’s very likely traveling with Feng Liu!”
“So?” Jun Linyuan asked unhurriedly.
