DING! DING! DING! DING!
"H-Huh?"
Frank slowly opened his eyes, hearing the annoying alarm clock of his phone, which he quickly turned off, realizing it was quite late.
"Eh? It's… I'm back home?"
He looked around, realizing he was back home. He could swear he was fighting someone or something before but…
"It was all a dream then?"
He sat back down over the bed sighing.
"Hm…"
He realized he couldn't hear anything downstairs.
"Mom? Dad?"
Wondering what was happening, Frank quickly walked out of his room and then looked downstairs.
"Mom…?"
His eyes widened, noticing something.
Something eerie.
"E-Eh?"
There were blood trails all over the living room floor.
And the strong smell of blood too, as fresh as it could get…
"Mom! Where are you?! Dad?!"
He ran downstairs, suddenly reaching the first floor and… gasping disbelief.
"N-No…!"
In front of him, the bodies of his parents were all over the floor.
Torn apart to shreds.
Their hands, blood, heads… all scattered.
The disgusting smell of blood, and of fresh organs.
"Haah… Haahh… No…! No…!"
The world around him turned dark, he started crying blood, as he realized his own hands were covered by the blood of his mom and his dad.
"No…! NO…! AAAH…! AAHHH!"
He started screaming in horror, crying, stepping back, his face filled with utter despair.
Everything was turning red, dark, twisting, warping itself.
His heart was beating faster and faster.
So fast, it felt like it was burning, and about to burst out of his chest.
"Ungh…?!"
He groaned in agony, touching his chest and feeling like his heart would explode.
As he cried in horror, he felt immense agony, the burning sensation spreading through his entire body.
Flames started spreading on his own body, as he started burning.
"Uuuaagh! W-What's going on?!"
As he screamed in agony, Frank suddenly…
Saw something.
And heard someone.
"Oh well, what do we have here? Finally awake, sleepyhead?"
"E-Eh?"
While burning, he glanced at the origin of that voice.
A man with a creepy smile, long white hair, sharp black and red eyes, was looking at him.
At his side was his sister, trembling in horror, with a long scorpion-like tail wrapped around her body and her mouth, she cried at her brother, trying to say something, but she couldn't.
"K-Kamei…?! A-Ah…!"
The man, covered on blood laughed as he saw Frank fall into despair.
"She's next you know?"
"No…!"
Frank began crawling towards Kamei, as he saw her being defenseless before the monster in front of him.
The tail began wrapping tightener, and Frank tried to move, but the flames burning his body wouldn't allow him.
"KAMEI!"
Kamei started struggling, making sounds of agony as she was being asphyxiated.
The man enjoyed every last second of it!
"No…! Stop…! Please…! PLEASE STOP!"
As Frank cried and was unable to reach her…
CRACK!
He heard a loud crack, as his sister's head fell limp.
"NOOOOOO!!! UUUAAAGGGHHH!"
Flames burned everything, his entire body started burning to ashes, his house fell apart, and the one that did it all was gone.
As the flames consumed it all, Frank felt something dragging him down, deeper into hell.
"You're mine now."
"A-Ahh…!"
His eyes widened in horror even as he burned to ashes, as something even more terrifying was awaiting him in the deepest pits of this inferno.
"Forever."
"Aaaagggh!"
Frank screamed in horror, his eyes opened in a flash, as he gasped for air, coughing loudly, as he felt asphyxiated by nothing at all.
"Cough, cough…! Aaah…! Cough…!"
He looked around desperately, terrified, only to find himself…
"Hah… Haaah…"
He was inside the room of an old Japanese house, with paper doors and wooden floor.
Frank realized he had been sleeping over a Japanese bed on the floor this entire time.
He touched his chest, feeling slightly pained.
"Ugh… W-What happened? Where am I? In… Am I inside… Is this Matsuo's house?"
He looked confused, if anything.
Slowly, the burning pain he felt went away, as he relaxed, resting over the bed.
But even then, he felt very tired and exhausted.
However, that terrible nightmare he had… It forced him to stay awake.
Seeing his entire family like that, and then burning into hell was an horrendous ting to witness, even if it was all just some dream.
"My mom and my dad… Kamei… I saw them all die… A-Again? Is this… why?"
He grabbed his head, confused, tormented by his own mind.
Frank felt alone, isolated.
Weak.
And then…
The doors opened, as someone that was walking inside with some soup and warm towels noticed Frank was awake.
It was Harumi.
"F-Frank?! You're awake!"
She ran towards him, leaving the things she brought over the floor and hugging him.
"H-Harumi…"
Frank felt moved by her sudden hug, Harumi had never hugged him like this before.
The loneliness he felt, the darkness he could feel wrapping around him slowly faded away.
She wasn't warm, she was quite cold as a Dhampir, but not too cold either.
Her cold body temperature helped calm down his burning fever, thankfully.
"You're burning! Are you still feverish?"
"F-Fever? Ah, I guess… I'm a bit feverish, but I'm fine."
"Are you sure? I brought you something… You should stay here and rest, Frank."
"What happened though? How long has it been since… Since… ugh… we fought someone right? Medea… the witch…?"
"Yeah, I'm glad you still remember, it has been two days since then…"
"T-Two days?! M-My parents…! Are they…?! I have to explain to them that…! What about Kamei?!"
Frank quickly checked the charms and talismans he had prepared; they were untouched.
Thankfully, nothing has happened to them yet.
"It's fine, calm down."
Harumi calmed him down, patting his shoulders.
"We contacted your parents… I mean, Matsuo's dad did, they talked for a while about letting you stay at his house and your mom agreed at the end. It helped that there was a festival so there wasn't any school."
"O-Oh… But even then I bet they're worried, I haven't even contacted them…"
"Hm, a bit, but it hasn't been that long, calm down."
"Okay… I understand… Thank you Harumi."
"I'm glad you're okay, Frank…!"
Harumi shed a little tear, as she hugged Frank again.
