Chapter 2553 - 2553: Rainbow River

The place Emery arrived in was nothing short of magical. It stood majestically atop the cliffs of a vast waterfall, where torrents of crystalline water cascaded down in an unbroken stream, catching the sunlight and painting rainbows across the sky. It was known that once a year, this very waterfall would reverse its flow, rising toward the heavens and forming the legendary Rainbow River—a celestial pathway that opened a spatial passage to distant planets within the Tartarus system.

Near this magnificent structure lay a quaint settlement known as Rainbow Town. Usually bustling with travelers waiting for the annual event, the town was eerily quiet this time of year, its streets nearly empty, save for a few scattered merchants and local guards patrolling under the watchful eyes of the Pardera Kingdom. Their role was crucial—ensuring that all those who journeyed through the Rainbow River were accounted for.

Soltz crossed his arms as he and Emery hovered above the waterfall, gazing down at the shimmering mist below. “So, what’s the plan?” the old magus asked, his voice edged with skepticism.

Emery didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he closed his eyes, reaching out with his divine sense to probe the vast spatial anomaly surrounding the waterfall. His mind extended outward, tracing the unseen currents of energy that wove through this place like an intricate tapestry. Something was different here, a unique spatial signature.

“Give me some time,”

Soltz let out a huff. “Fine. I’ll be waiting in the town.”

Hours passed as Emery worked tirelessly, casting multiple spatial gates, testing the boundaries of his newly refined Law of Space. The more he studied the phenomenon, the clearer it became that this place was no ordinary structure—it was intricately linked to the seven major planets of the Tartarus system.

Determined to confirm his hypothesis, Emery ventured into Rainbow Town, seeking knowledge from local scholars. He managed to find a star chart detailing the region and spent the better part of a night poring over it. The revelation was staggering. Unlike other planetary systems known in the Magus Universe, the Tartarus sector was enveloped in a chaotic void, making travel between planets incredibly difficult. Even cosmic experts, capable of interstellar movement, could get lost for weeks if they attempted to navigate these unstable currents without guidance.

The Rainbow River, however, was a rare anomaly. Once activated, it cut through the void like a beacon, illuminating pathways to seven specific planets for a single month.

Unfortunately, the river was currently inactive.

Emery frowned. For days he pushed himself to the limits, soaring high into the upper atmosphere, meticulously mapping the strange spatial distortions, trying to force the pieces of the puzzle together. On the fourth day, Soltz returned, arms crossed and a look of pure exasperation on his face.

“You don’t actually have a plan, do you?” the old grand magus sighed, rubbing his temples.

Emery exhaled slowly, not denying it.

Soltz let out a long breath before shaking his head. “Damn it… fine. Seeing how serious you are about this, I’ll help you.”

Emery raised an eyebrow. “You have a way in?”

“Not personally,” Soltz admitted, “but I know someone who does. A powerful cosmic expert with connections to the Fey Clan. He won’t do it for free, though. It’ll be costly. But…” His sharp eyes studied Emery. “You won the alchemy competition, didn’t you? You should have enough wealth to afford his services… if you are interested I will take you to meet him.. he lives in an island five days away from here”

Emery considered it. Money wasn’t the issue. But time—that was a luxury he couldn’t waste. The duel with Kronos was approaching fast, and his current clone body had limited time left before it deteriorated. Returning to the Skyroot Clan for another clone was not an option. No, he couldn’t afford the delays that hiring a guide would bring.

“No,” he said firmly. “I don’t have time to wait.”

Without another word, Emery reached into his spatial storage, retrieving two crucial items. The first was a [Space Walk] pill—a rare concoction that would enhance his resistance in space. The second item, however, made Soltz’s breath hitch.

It was a sleek, interceptor-class spaceship, compact yet powerful, designed for rapid traversal through space.

“Are you insane?!” Soltz hissed, his voice barely above a whisper. “If anyone sees that, they’ll know you’re an outsider! A traveler!”

Emery knew the risks. But he had already made his decision.

Ignoring the old magus’ protests, he activated the ship. Its hull hummed with energy, a faint blue glow tracing along its edges as the cockpit opened, revealing seats for two. Time was slipping away. He had to move before anyone took notice.

“Are you coming or not?” he asked, turning to Soltz one last time.

There was a long pause. The elder’s face twisted with frustration, hesitation flickering in his eyes. But in the end, he let out a loud groan of resignation. “Urghh… I’m going to regret this,” he muttered before stepping inside.

The moment the cockpit sealed shut, Emery engaged the ship’s systems. Energy surged through its engines, and in an instant, they shot skyward, piercing through the clouds and ascending into the chaotic void beyond the planet’s atmosphere.

As the ship accelerated, Emery focused his divine sense outward, mapping the distortions ahead. This was uncharted territory—an unstable, shifting maze of spatial currents that had swallowed even seasoned cosmic magi.

But Emery was different. He could feel the pathways before him, and sense the fluctuations in space like ripples in a pond. This was his domain. His Law of Space had evolved beyond what it once was.

Soltz gripped the armrest tightly as the ship veered sharply to avoid a sudden rift in the void. “You better know what you’re doing, boy. I dont want to spend months getting lost in here”

Emery smirked. “Then let’s not get lost.”

With that, he pushed the ship further into the unknown, forging his own path toward the Fey Clan’s hidden world.
