"Carry him." Evelynn waved her hand, "Interrogate and find out what he has been up to in the past few days. Learn what kind of information he sent to the enemies and what kind of information they want."

The eight pillars responded and brought that suspect away to interrogate him.
"Evelynn, you've just become our ruler and already managed to uncover one matter that decides the fate of our clan."
Empress Hexena Xylusc approached Evelynn, her voice full of pride. It was clear that she was reveling in the fact that she made the right choice when she chose Evelynn as her successor.

"Maybe he felt that taking you hostage could mean that he could negotiate his way out."
"That's very unlikely, given the circumstances."
"Yes." Evelynn smirked, "I'm just being humble, having a way out in case I was wrong."

Empress Hexena Xylusc burst out laughing, causing the two Ancestors to be stunned. Their eyes teared up as they hadn't seen her like that ever since the clan fell.
They conversed with each other and five minutes later, the pillars who left returned with interesting expressions. They had smiles, but they looked anything but happy.
"Chromatic Hex Empress, it is, as you said. Grand Elder Rhazim confessed that he's the spy who has been leaking our information to the Pyraxis Ember Arachnid Clan all this time. He further confessed that the last message he sent was that Empress Hexena Xylusc had been revived."
"We were too late." Syriss Xylusc clenched her fists.
She couldn't believe that they had let someone like that become a Grand Elder- or rather, this Grand Elder had been a Grand Elder for over two million years. He always stayed low-key but maintained justice throughout the asteroid living spaces and gained support from the masses, allowing him to stay in that position for a long time. For him to turn out to be a spy was a blow to their unity.
"I know."
Evelynn had been monitoring how they interrogated him using her soul sense.
It was brutal, to say the least.
From the interrogation, she learned that he was the culprit who relayed that she had come here. The Pyraxis Ember Arachnid had relayed back to him, saying that he needed to keep her here no matter what. The second transmission then consisted of him saying that the Divine Emperor of Death wasn't here. She was sure this emboldened the Pyraxis Ember Arachnid Clan. The subsequent periodical transmissions were like that.
Grand Elder Rhazim seemed to have received only one mission: which was to keep her here.
However, the moment he sent the message that Hexena was still alive, they actually decided to wait until Evelynn left.
It was unexpected that Empress Hexena would make Evelynn the ruler instead, causing Grand Elder Rhazim to be unable to say a thing and make Evelynn leave. Raising his voice at that time would've resulted in him being exposed. Unfortunately, he couldn't win against the pressure when Tia and Evelynn fooled him and made him reveal himself.
"It is pretty much confirmed that they're targeting the Emperor-Tier Essence of the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid. Their patience is truly amazing~"
Evelynn shook her head.
The Pyraxis Ember Arachnid Clan actually waited nearly four million years for this item? She was amazed and disgusted at the same time. The only reason that the remnant force of the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Clan could remain alive until this moment was because they had been waiting for the inheritor all along, but news of Empress Hexena's revival also made them joyous.
"But why?" Empress Hexena Xylusc's expression looked solemn.
She didn't look amused at all.
She couldn't believe the reason why her clan would be framed as evil would be because of her birth. It was incredulous.
"The spy swears that he doesn't know." Syriss Xylusc lowered her head.
She went down on her knees and cupped her fists, "Please forgive my incompetence. I will get the information out of him no matter what."
"Forget it." Evelynn waved her hand, "The Pyraxis Ember Arachnid wouldn't be stupid enough to tell their spy for what reason they wanted all this information. He really must not know. Otherwise, he couldn't be crying his heart out to spare him and end his life instead of confessing."

Syriss Xylusc looked unsatisfied, as though she knew she was capable of much more torture.
Evelynn considered the next move she should take.
Apparently, Grand Elder Rhazim decided to be in cahoots with the Pyraxis Ember Arachnid Clan when he realized that this clan wasn't going to survive if they wanted to revive a dead woman and be stuck in the past and vengeance. So, in his own way, he wanted to secure a safe haven for the clan when it was on the brink of extinction.
He decided to paint himself as the righteous side of the evil that was the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Clan. But it was unexpected that the Pyraxis Ember Arachnids would coldly kill them whenever they were on the outside but he was too deep outside to return inside, so he continued spying all the way until today when he got caught.
Regardless of his reasons, Evelynn felt that he could be used.
"What is the punishment for betrayal in our clan?" Evelynn asked.
"Their nine generations would be executed in public."
"I see." Evelynn felt that sounded about right, "Tell him that if he wants his family to be spared, he must send a message to the Pyraxis Ember Arachnid Clan that Empress Evelynn had left."
"Empress…?"
"Just do as I say."
Evelynn waved her hand, not bothering to explain but the end result, "If things go well, they should be here within the next twenty-four hours, playing right into our hands."
"Understood."
Syriss Xylusc went back, and the others were also released since Grand Elder Rhazim confessed that he was the only spy. The others weren't so delusional or forgiving enough to join sides with the Pyraxis Ember Arachnid Clan.
Evelynn and the others went back to their room.
Empress Hexena Xylusc was also here. However, she didn't seem to be here to chit-chat but to stabilize or even improve her bloodline purity.
