Villain 14. The Hero of Ilude
Soon, an announcement appeared on the screen. The words flashed in bright red letters, catching their attention immediately.
[The war event will start soon. The Devil Emperor and his subordinates will attack the town of Ilude. The event will end in 10 minutes. Everyone who participates will get a 2X EXP bonus.]
Excitement surged through him as he read the announcement. This was what they had been waiting for. The chance to show off their skills and prove their worth. He could feel his heart racing as he prepared himself for the battle ahead.
Kafra’s words echoed through the room, her voice laced with excitement and a hint of mischief.
“Now, let’s go to Ilude! Wreck and destroy everything! But the most important thing is to have fun,” Kafra repeated, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.
They nodded, their own excitement building as they prepared to face their enemies.
With a final glance at each other, they stepped forward and entered the portal.

The town of Ilude was a picturesque wonderland that seemed to have emerged straight out of a medieval magic fantasy era. Every inch of the cobblestoned streets, quaint little shops, and thatched-roofed houses oozed with an otherworldly charm that could transport any visitor to a bygone era. The town, which was situated at the edge of a sprawling ocean, was not too crowded despite the fact that it was a hub of activity for players in the VR game. Most players were off on their quests and hunting, leaving behind a peaceful ambiance that added to the charm of the place.
As one approached the town from the east, a stunning view of the sea stretched out before them. The glistening azure waters were punctuated with the occasional sailboat, while a large wood ship docked on the shore added to the town’s charm. The ship, with its tall masts and carved wooden hull, was a sight to behold.
Upon closer inspection, one could see that the ship was no ordinary vessel. It was the vessel that would transport players to the underwater dungeon on a small island near the town, one of the many challenges that the game had to offer. The ship was intricately designed, with ropes, pulleys, and sails that swayed in the breeze. One could almost imagine the sound of waves crashing against the hull and the salty sea spray on their face.
In the middle of that peaceful town, a male player named Mac stood out. With his blonde hair, and his sharp, angular features, he was the picture of a proud swordsman. His broad shoulders were accentuated by the uniform he wore, complete with a leather vest and a sword at his waist.
Mac had just returned from a successful hunt for slimes and other small monsters, as well as aiding the novices in their quests. He was already a seasoned player, having reached level 12 and gained a reputation for his prowess in battle. As he walked through the town, he scanned the vendors for the potions he needed to continue his quest.
Mac’s sharp eyes took in every detail of the town, from the quaint little shops to the towering buildings that loomed overhead. He knew every nook and cranny of the town, having spent countless hours exploring every inch of it. But even with all his knowledge, he always found something new to discover.
He scanned the sign above the door, which read ‘Item Shop’. His steps stopped. He pushed open the door and entered the shop. The interior of the shop was dimly lit, with shelves of items lining the walls. A wooden counter stood in the center of the room, and behind it was an NPC named Galen.
Galen immediately greeted him with a warm smile. “Hello there, adventurer. What can I do for you today?” he asked, his voice friendly and welcoming.
Mac approached the wooden counter, where an item list appeared in front of him.
The list was extensive, containing everything from potions to weapons to rare magical artifacts. Mac’s eyes scanned the list, looking for the items he needed for his next hunt.
1. Basic Health Potion – A potion made from ground Health Herbs that restores about 50 HP. (25 Coins)
2. Basic Mana Potion – A potion made from ground Mana Herbs that restores about 70 MP. (50 Coins)
3. Strength Potion – Looking to increase your physical strength? This potion will give you a temporary boost, allowing you to deal more damage in combat. (100 Coins)
4. Agility Potion – Need to be more nimble in combat? This potion will increase your agility, making it easier for you to dodge attacks and land critical hits. (100 Coins)
5. Fire Resistance Potion – Need to resist a particular type of damage? This potion will increase your resistance to fire type damage, making you less vulnerable in combat. (200 Coins)
6. Earth Resistance Potion – Need to resist a particular type of damage? This potion will increase your resistance to earth type damage, making you less vulnerable in combat. (200 Coins)
7. Wind Resistance Potion – Need to resist a particular type of damage? This potion will increase your resistance to wind type damage, making you less vulnerable in combat. (200 Coins)
8. Ice Resistance Potion – Need to resist a particular type of damage? This potion will increase your resistance to water type damage, making you less vulnerable in combat. (200 Coins)
‘So expensive,’ he complained internally and cringed, but complaining was no use. He clicked on the items he wanted to buy, he mostly spent it on the Health Basic Potion and the price appeared next to them. Automatically, his coins decreased according to the price of the items he selected and the items went into his inventory.
“Thank you for your patronage, adventurer. Good luck on your journey,” Galen nodded and bid him goodbye.
But when he was about to leave the shop, an announcement appeared on his screen.
