‘What the fuck is that howl? Why am I also trembling…’
Even when Rex is not actually there near Wedron City, the howl sent a shiver down his spine as if he is really there and can clearly feel the howl affecting his actual body.
It’s like a soundwave of pure terror that makes Rex also looks in the direction of it.
But when Rex is frowning after hearing the howl, his eyes then catch the people in Wedron City acting as if nothing happened, the merchants and some people that are coming out of the walls to hunt are doing their business without even a hint of concern.
For such a powerful howl, they should become more careful so this is weird.
‘Didn’t they hear the howl? Why aren’t they reacting to it?’, Rex thought in confusion, but then he have a wild guess that the howl can only be heard by Werewolves.
Probably some sort of frequency that can only be caught by Werewolves.
If what he suspected is true then this Werewolf that just howls is not just a regular Werewolf.
Rex then looks at Jarvald and Vivian below him, he saw both of them running through the forest before disappearing into some kind of cave.
It seems they are hiding from the howl,
After remembering the location of the cave, Rex wanted to cancel his Eagle Mind ability before suddenly a ray of energy shot up to the sky that is coming from the howl direction,
He marvels at it but then suddenly, “Argkkh!”
The Eagle Mind’s ability suddenly got canceled before he falls from the red throne holding his chest, Rex is gripping his chest as his eyes waver from normal to glowing red.
‘What’s happening? I can’t control my body!’, Rex thought in surprise.
Just after seeing the energy that shot up from the sky, his entire body started to burn as his eyes turns red and will not change back no matter how hard he tries to control himself.
It’s not supposed to be like this, he’s usually able to perfectly control his transformation.

Out of nowhere, the burning sensation all over his body started to shift.
This makes the burning sensation stronger as his blood rushes faster alongside his heavy breaths, and without even being able to hold anything back.
Swoosh!
Red energy burst from his body shooting up to the sky,
Rex looks at his body which is now brimming with red energy, his claws and fangs are exposed but he tries desperately to suppress this feeling that is forcing him to howl.
‘What the hell is this?! Ancient Spell?’
The carpet got scratched by Rex’s claws as his hands tensed, it’s similar to when he got the Silverstar Howl skill but the urge to howl is ten times greater.
‘If I howl now… I’m going to get caught!’, he thought while gritting his teeth.
With veins and muscles bulging all over his body, Rex desperately holds the urge to howl, he even bites his lips that are starting to bleed due to his fangs until the red energy dissipated after a minute.
He then kneels on the ground on all four with heavy breaths, ‘What was that…’
‘It must have something to do with that Werewolf that howls before, Tracing Howl? Is he trying to locate me or something? and it definitely worked’
The red energy that exploded from his body before is definitely the sign that the Ancient Spell work, and whoever that Werewolf is, it knows where he’s right now.
After recovering from the sudden form of attack, Rex retracts back his transformation.
Not long after, Adhara and Kyran got inside the room as they are the only ones that can feel Rex’s dominating aura that shot to the sky.
Rex stands up slowly before he peeked outside of his mansion from the window,
In front of his mansion lies many Awakened that is guarding his place talking with each other, they’re mainly from the Platchi Family and Reed Family.
Seeing them minding their business, Rex turns his head away.
‘Does that weird red aura only be sensed by Werewolves? If that’s the case then I’m sure that Werewolf doesn’t want anyone to know that he’s searching for me’
‘But how did he do that? Is it the Werewolf King?’, he thought while shaking his head.
Adhara who saw Rex’s body drenched in sweat and even saw blood on the corner of his mouth asks, “What happened? I suddenly feel your aura becomes berserk”
Rex sat on the red throne in thought, he doesn’t answer Adhara’s question.
In just a moment of thinking, Rex then stands up from the throne and said, “I need to go somewhere, you guys stay here. Wait for Gistella to be here with Ryze and wait for me”
After saying that, Rex changed his clothes into black armor again.
With two swords strap on his back, Rex went out of the mansion without any of the guards even noticing before he dashes away jumping through the tall fence.
A moment later,
Rex is currently dashing like a streak of black lightning before he finally stops, he has arrived near Wedron City as the wall under construction can already be seen at the far distance.
It only took Rex two hours to go to Ratmawati City entrance from sector two.
At the Ratmawati City entrance he was delayed a bit since he needs to pass the guard, but knowing that he’s a seventh rank Awakened makes them let Rex through.
Adding another two hours, Rex arrived near Wedron City.
With him reaching the seventh rank, Rex’s speed is way faster than before as he becomes noticeably faster than Delta who was supposed to be his mount.
It’s not an exaggeration that he can dash a mile in one second.
Rex then resume his journey as he went into the forest near Wedron City,
From the Eagle Mind ability he saw through before, Jarvald and Vivian should be in this forest where they’re hiding inside a cave avoiding contact with the humans.
If they made a ruckus here then the Awakened from the UWO and FAA might investigate.
Seeing that Wedron City has done their merchant things using the tree of fire from before, their value as a city definitely rises in the eyes of the big organization so anything that happened here will be known by the UWO and FAA.
Rex dashes inside the forest like a shadow in the night,
Even ghosts probably wouldn’t be able to follow his movements, he comes and goes in a blur.
A couple of mutated animals didn’t even sense Rex’s aura before it was too late, Rex passes them first before the mutated animals realize his violent aura.
They got flung away from the wind behind Rex, he’s that quick.
While dashing through the forest, ‘Why does it have to be now?’
‘Just when everything is almost done and I can focus on saving Rosie, something like this happened at the worst time’, Rex thought while gritting his teeth.
Rosie is held in the Vampire territory,
In order to get the information about Rosie’s whereabouts, Rex needs to attack the Delarosa Family first since he also needs to test how he fares against Royal Vampires.
But with the appearance of that howl, he needs to become more careful.
Just from the howl of this unknown Werewolf and what it did to him alone, Rex knows that this particular Werewolf is not just a normal Werewolf.
For a howl to affect him, a Prince this much is actually quite terrifying.
It’s like this particular Werewolf has dealt with a Prince of Werewolf just like him before, and just the thought of that makes Rex grinds his teeth as he knows this is not going to be easy.
Feeling a bit angry, Rex picks up his pace.
About ten minutes later, Rex arrives in front of a well-hidden cave.
With many mutated animals here that are as strong as a fifth rank, this deep inside the forest is devoid of people, ‘It seems they held their end of the bargain’, Rex thought.
The last time Rex met with Jarvald and Vivian, he warned them about killing humans.
Seeing the place they’re in that has plenty of mutated animals, lack of food will not be a problem so they should be able to quench their thirst.
But even if they did attack humans, they should make damn sure Rex doesn’t know.
If Rex just suspects even a little bit that they’re attacking humans in their spare times, he will not hesitate to eliminate them before going to the Supernatural territory to save Rosie.
Upon sensing Rex’s arrival, Jarvald and Vivian came out of the entrance.
There’s a stern look on Jarvald’s face as he saw Rex standing in front of the gaze, “You’re not supposed to be here, are you crazy?!”, he shouted.
“Why? I want to know who that Werewolf was”, Rex replied with a frown.
It’s not Jarvald’s reaction that makes him frown, but the meek aura that somehow surrounded his body which is so uncharacteristic of him.
Jarvald should be a fierce Werewolf also known as Brutal Grey,
But the meek aura surrounding him is contrasting with his notorious reputation, for such a fierce Werewolf like Jarvald to become like this shows the heaviness of the unknown Werewolf.
This makes Rex more concerned,
Rex then added, “Your expression tells me that you know who that howl belongs to, I need to know about that Werewolf. That howl affects me which shouldn’t be possible”
Hearing this, Vivian steps forward, “L-Let’s get inside first”
Sensing that there is no hostility coming from the both of them, Rex decided to follow them into the cave before the three of them stop.
While walking into the cave, Rex saw a rune engraved on the ground.

An ancient rune that has the power to block sound and aura from getting out, it is a modified rune that is made specifically to hinder the Werewolf’s senses.
‘They really scared of this Werewolf’, Rex thought with a frown.
Rex looks at Jarvald and finds that he’s glancing at the cave mouth a couple of times, he seems very paranoid which makes Rex turn his eyes toward Vivian.
Noticing Rex is gazing at her, Vivian sighs, “That howl belongs to Arnulf the Special…”
Without even Rex knowing who this Arnulf is, there’s a sudden change in their surroundings as the cold wind breezes their bodies as if the name Arnulf itself has power behind it.
The name is like a bad omen that shouldn’t be spoken lightly,
“Arnulf is so dangerous that he’s slumbering when the other Werewolves are awakened during the Seal Breaking or what the humans called as the Supernatural Emergence, he’s not even a Prince but the world decided that he’s way too powerful for the current times. He’s a Werewolf that lived even during the Beginning Era”, she added.
Hearing this, Rex narrows his eyes and mutters questioningly, “Beginning Era?”
“Beginning Era is an era during the ancient times, tens of thousands of years ago and actually divided into two eras, the Radical Era and the Era of Might. Jarvald is quite experienced for a Werewolf as he lived during the Era of Might where Supernaturals are fighting against each other for Supremacy”
“Even Bertolf who is older than Jarvald is still only lives inside the Era of Might”
“The both of them fought alongside the Princes of Werewolf against other races, Bertolf can be considered as a right hand for a couple of Princes but even he has only seen a glimpse of the Origin himself one time during his span of life”
Rex listen to Vivian’s explanation attentively,
It’s not what he came here to do but it will surely be informative to learn about the Supernatural history, but then Vivian looks at Rex directly in his eyes.
“Arnulf is not the right hand of the Princes, he’s a front soldier”, Vivian added.
Hearing this, Rex frowns, “Front soldier? Then how did he do such a powerful howl? If he’s a front soldier then he should’ve been quite weak”
“You didn’t let me finish”, Vivian said making Rex stop.
She then continues, “He’s a front soldier dating back to the Radical Era where the Origin has just received their power, he fought alongside the Origin through many battles even against the ancient humans making him the oldest Werewolf aside from the Princes”
“Bear in mind that during the Radical Era, Werewolves only amounted to less than five hundred”
“We give him a nickname the Special because the chances of surviving through the Radical Era for a normal Werewolf is almost zero percent, only Arnulf survived the Radical Era and still lives to this day…”
Boom!
Rex widen his eyes in utter disbelief as he heard Vivian’s story of this Arnulf.
If put into the perspective of the humans, then Arnulf is a veteran that went through all battles and wars humanity went through and survived making him the ultimate veteran.
But not only that, Arnulf even fights alongside the Origin!
Upon looking at Rex’s expression, Jarvald then said from the side, “Arnulf is not as talented and blessed as other Werewolves, he might even have the slowest growth for a Werewolf”
“His battle experience separates him from the other which makes him a terrifying figure”
“Even with his current age, he should be only in the sixth rank realm. But it’s quite hard to pinpoint what realm he is right now”, he added.
Hearing this, Rex frown as he finds that Arnulf’s power is very low for his age.
Jarvald saw Rex’s frown before he said, “But don’t be mistaken by his realm… If you meet him right now even though you got noticeably stronger, you’ll die in a second”
Rex gulp harshly as he didn’t expect to feel a tinge of fear,
But that tinge of fear was quickly pushed to the side as he clenched his jaw, ‘If I really want to exterminate all Supernaturals, then I must go through him…’
After steeling his will, Rex then asks, “What’s that howl for?”
“Arnulf is a loyal servant of the Dark Prince, it seems the Dark Prince has awakened, and knowing King Baralt he will probably try to devour the Dark Prince to make himself stronger”
“The Dark Prince has a talent for devouring creatures to make him stronger”
“It’s way more potent than regular Werewolf devouring others to become stronger, and if I were the Dark Prince then I will probably tell Arnulf to search for you. Eating other Prince will naturally make him way stronger, and that howl is probably a method to locate other Princes”
Jarvald replied explaining the urgency of the situation,
Even Rex feels his throat dry as he got another problem coming his way, and it has just become way dangerous if he were to get inside the Supernatural territory.
But he had no choice, he had to, for Rosie.
“Alright, thanks for the information. I’ll create a measure for Arnulf”, Rex said while standing up.
Seeing this, Jarvald also stands up before he said warningly, “Whatever you do, don’t go outside of the human territory. Arnulf has methods from the ancient times like that howl before”
“Don’t worry, I can handle myself”, Rex replied while turning to the cave mouth.
Before he left the cave, Rex glanced back at Jarvald and Vivian and said, “I’ve met with Rurvi before, I will handle Rurvi so you better prepare for when I bring Rurvi to you”
After saying that, Rex walks out of the cave mouth under Jarvald and Vivian’s gazes.
Out of nowhere, the dark sky began raining drenching Rex’s armors as he deactivate the red force barrier around his body trying to embrace the rain.
“I need more power…”, Rex mutters amidst the rain.
With a deep breath, Rex activates his black lightning before disappearing from the place.
