"Not just some petty quarrelâŠ", Rex said fiercely.
Although he never really care about it, Rex knows that he can triumph over any student who is still learning in a university with the current power he has right now.
Even the alumni will likely lose against him, he's almost as strong as a Head Family right now.
Duncan Platchi who is the Head Family of the lowest ranking family in the 25 Golden Crest is just a tad stronger than Rex, his power is just incomparable to students anymore.
But his real goal is not that,
Rex didn't compare himself to students, it's not his end goal.
What he strives the most is to fight against Supernatural, and many other Supernatural are way stronger than him just like Anna from the Delarosa Family that he met before.
She toyed with Rex as if he's nothing, and he even got lucky by the Eternal Curse.
Without the Eternal Curse poisoning Anna, and Jarvald helping him fight with Anna, Rex might just die right there by Anna's hand.
So he needs to keep getting stronger, there's no time to play around.
The guy looks at Rex in shock as he heard what Rex said, "Unlike me huhâŠ", he mumbles.
"I don't know what's inside all of your minds, we're at war so at least act like you care", Rex said while pointing and looking around the gathered students coldly.
Because of the event unfolding, Rex remembered the past when he was in the military.
Hundreds or even thousands of people die every day during the skirmishes against the Supernatural, normal people gave out their lives for the sake of humanity.
Kids were brought into the war, abandoning their families, they gave up everything in the war.
To see that the thing they're fighting for looks like they didn't care, thinking about nothing else except for acknowledgment and reputation makes Rex angry at those who gave their lives away.
It's just starting to not be as worth it as he thought.
Hearing Rex's sharp remarks, all of the students look down avoiding Rex's glare.
After looking coldly at the surrounding students for a moment, Rex finally turns his body back and leaves the place.
Nobody said anything, only silenced covered the place.
While heading for the Training Ground, Rex saw that the training ground is full of people.
The robot that guards in front of the Training Ground immediately steps aside and lets Rex get in, the long lines of queuing people were confused at first but then they realized it was Rex.
Inside the Training Ground, Rex saw that the center of the Training Ground has changed.
There should be a couple of arenas in the middle of the Training Ground where students can train with robots, but now it has changed into one big Arena that should be made because of the sparring match.
After looking around the place,
Rex notices that there are many brown orbs above the students' heads around here.
'They're visitors from the other universities, there are many of them', Rex thought as he saw at least four or five brown orbs on each of his sides.
Since Rex is the strongest, there's a golden orb above his head.
Looking at the bright golden orb, the visitors from other universities' attention got attracted to it.
There are two people on Rex's right that saw his entrance,
Both of them look at the glowing golden orb above Rex in surprise, "He's a ranker in this university", a woman said whisperingly.
"Why don't we introduce ourselves, before the sparring match of course", a man replied.
Seeing the smirk that appeared on the man's face, the woman sighed, "Since when did you introduce yourself just end up only introducing yourself"
But the man ignores her remarks and walks towards Rex with the woman following behind.
When they both start to get closer to Rex,
The woman squints her eyes before she suddenly grabbed the man's arm stopping him, the man looks back at her in confusion, "What are you doing?"
"I don't think we should mess with him", the woman said with a pale expression.
Upon seeing the pale expression, the man frowns, "What are you talking about? You're scared of this guy?", he asks mockingly.
The grip on the man's arm gets tighter as the woman shakes her head.
"T-That's Rex Silverstar", the woman said whisperingly feeling suffocated even at a mention of Rex's name.
Hearing this, the man then asks, "Why is he here? Isn't he not supposed to come?"
"Let's ask him, and we can even test him to see if he's really as the rumor said. He's from the military right? The same as that Edward guy", the man added with a smile.
But the woman shakes her head repeatedly, "Don't mess with him"
"He killed a sixth rank winged demon! Are you insane?", the woman added in disbelief.
Seeing the man's nonchalant expression, the woman then continues, "Do you even know what it takes to kill a sixth rank winged demon? The winged demon has a very high resistance to fire, and their body is harder than any Supernatural out there and even rivaling the Dragonman's!"
"So? That Edward guy also has outstanding feats, but I'm still on par with him. Besides, there's no actual proof that Rex killed the winged demons on his own", the man replied.
This makes the woman helpless,
When they're both are quarreling, they suddenly saw Rex walking the other way leaving their sights making the man clicked his tongue.
But when he's about to went after Rex,
Another voice suddenly intervenes them, "I wouldn't do that if I were you"
"You are?", the man asked while squinting his eyes.
Hearing this, another man that walks up to both of them stretches out his hand and said, "My name's Brock, I used to know Rex back when he was still at Ochyra University"
"Oh, I didn't know Rex need an ex-friend to protect him", the man said with a mocking tone.
Brock shakes his head with a wry smile, he then taps on the man's shoulder before he said, "I'm doing this for you. I saw you fight with Edward and you thought that they're friends from the military which makes their power equal right?"
"Just trust me on this one, Rex and his feats are the real deal. Cross him once, you'll regret it for sure", Brock added warning the man.
After getting constantly reminded, the man turns his head away unwillingly.
But then suddenly, amidst the people passing by the man saw someone gazing at him with a stoic expression that gives him goosebumps.
Through the people walking by, Rex saw the man from afar.
He stares at the man calmly with his stoic expression that is very cold and sharp, everything that the man said can be heard clearly by Rex even with the Traning Ground full of noises.
Just a blink after the man realized who was looking at him, Rex is suddenly gone.
"T-Thank you", the man suddenly said catching the woman and Brock in surprise when they saw the man's pale expression.
The man knows that he almost made a mistake, he's just this close to crossing with Rex.
Meanwhile, Rex steps to the side with a cold look.
From the way he moves through the crowd, his body is very stiff as if he just looks at something shocking for him, 'What is he doing here?', Rex thought trying to keep his expression neutral.
While the man thought that Rex is looking at him,
Turns out Rex is not looking at him even though he heard what the man said, but instead, he's looking at another person behind the man.
Rex walks to the other side of the big arena with fewer people around.
He then stopped his steps and looks slowly to his right,
There's another man with green hair stopping across the place just like Rex, and both of their eyes meet probing each other with their eyes as the tension starts to fill the air.
From the slightly upwards chin and steady steps,
The green-haired man's pride reek out of his body clearly, his confident nature cannot be hidden especially since there is a wide smile on his face while looking at Rex.
Both of their eyes lock onto each other unwavering to the surrounding,
Their bodies didn't move at all as their eyes kept eye contact, it's like everything surrounding them was not relevant as they kept eye contact even when some people started to notice.
Without even knowing both of their histories, the people that noticed started to clear away.
After looking at each other for at least more than thirty seconds, Rex steps forward as the man also steps forward walking towards each other.
Some of the people recognize both of them,
They must be living in a hole if they didn't recognize the two, it's just impossible.
"Rex Silverstar, What a coincidence to meet you here", the green-haired man said with a smile.
Hearing this, Rex squints his eyes as he looks at the person in front of him, "Mr. Atkins, To what do I owe the pleasure of meeting you here?"
The man in front of Rex turns out to be Wesley Atkins, the head of the Atkins Family.
"Oh we're closer than that, just call me Wesley no need for the formalities", Wesley replied.
Wesley then signals to sit on an empty bench on Rex's back, they both then sit on the bench with clear tension around both of them that even the people around notices too.
"No need to be so tense", Wesley suddenly said.
Rex glanced at the side warily before Wesley added, "I'm here for my Son's sparring match of course, aside from the head of Atkins Family I'm also a father you know"
"I'm sorry for doubting you, but I don't believe this is a coincidence", Rex replied calmly.
With the cold war going on between the two of them, Hans probing everything about them, and also Rex finding Wesley's dirt, this coincidence is very doubtful.
Especially since the banquet is near, Wesley's visit is definitely planned.
"You see, I'm quite impressed by the feats that you accomplished in a mere few months", Wesley praised making Rex frown.
He then continues, "Saving Beah City from the blue demons, Taming a White Mutated Wolf and becoming a Zeragon, you even reach the sixth rank with a powerful spirit that destroyed the room in the Crystalline of Mana. You really surprised me"
"Are you keeping tabs on me? I thought we already settled our differences", Rex replied as his heart started to beat faster.
But instead of answering Rex, Wesley then said, "I'm going to need the spellbook now"
"I still have more than a month before giving you the last one, that is our deal", Rex said while emphasizing the last words.
Hearing this, Wesley smiles, "I was going to keep my words butâŠ"
"Since your incredible feats in just a few months' time, and your collusion with the Reed Family I'm having second thoughts. So you're going to give the last spellbook, I'll be expecting it during the Banquet", Wesley added threateningly while standing up and buttoning back his suit.
Rex's expression darkened as Wesley smiles smugly looking down on him before intending to leave.
"Oh, and also, to add a little bit more motivation for you", Wesley turns back towards Rex, "I found an interesting topic about you, I know that a Supernatural visit you during your little tournament in Faraday University and also during your time in becoming a Scavenger", he said with a smile.
The words that came out of Wesley's mouth makes Rex clench his fists in response, he was not expecting Wesley to know that much.
He thought that Wesley is angry with him because of his collusion with Reed Family and also the fact that he tampered with the spellbooks, but this just didn't cross his mind at all.
'Where did he know about that Shapeshifter?', Rex thought in confusion.
He then raises his gaze to meet with Wesley's, "And Where did he know about the Scavenger?', but then suddenly Rex remembered something, 'That Trench Predator Group!'
Seeing Rex's troubled look, the smile on Wesley's face went wider.
"Keep this up and maybe, I can get enough reason to turn you to the UWO for being a Supernatural Spy", Wesley said threateningly.
He then brings his face closer to Rex's by leaning forward before he whispers, "Do you know the punishment for a Supernatural Spy?"
"Public Execution, and do you know what will happen to the family of a Supernatural Spy?"
"Public Humiliation, and then Fire!"
