The woman widened her eyes upon seeing both of them, “Y-You’re not supposed to do that”
“Not supposed to do what?”, Rex asks in confusion.
All they’re doing is just standing under the rain, they didn’t do anything that somehow can make the woman say what she said.
“Hello there, we’re trying to find shelter can you help us?”, Edward asks politely.
But the woman’s eyes are not looking at them, but she’s looking at their backs.
Edward glance to his back upon noticing the woman’s eyes are transfixed to their backs and finds only their car there, nothing else besides it.
Even Rex try to spot anything aside from the car, but the rain is too heavy and he can’t really sense anything beyond the mist.
It’s like his senses are trapped to just a couple of meters around him.
Kyran may be able to sense further beyond the mist, but Rex doubts it with such conditions.
The rough rain that creates a heavy splashing sound, the thick mist that covered the surroundings, it’s just simply impossible to sense anything beyond what they can see.
Before Edward can ask again, the woman suddenly runs towards their backs.
Rex already scans the woman and finds that she’s a normal human, so he’s not worried about what the woman is trying to do.
The woman runs towards the car before kneeling in front of it.
She then looks around before fixating her gaze onto a rock before picking it up strugglingly.
After picking a medium-sized rock with quite a bit of effort, she then suddenly slammed the medium-sized rock to Edward’s car headlight desperately.
Crash!!
The car’s left headlight dimmed as it got crashed by the medium-sized rock.
Looking at this, Edward’s expression turns pale as he didn’t expect the woman to do that, “WHAT THE HECK!!”, he shouted.
Edward then grabs the woman’s shoulder and tossed her to the side.
“My car!!”, Edward shouted as he saw his car’s left headlight is broken because of the woman.
Rex approach Edward with a slight chuckle, “Why don’t you put a protection rune on it? It’s a good investment for this kind of situation”
“Shut up! Who would’ve thought I will be going to this kind of place anyway”, Edward rebutted.
While Edward is picking up the shattered glasses on the ground, Rex glance at the woman that got tossed to the side in worry.
Edward might put too much force on her,
But instead of feeling guilty for what she has done, the woman looks at Edward in disbelief before she shouted, “Are you mad?!!”
“ARE YOU MAD?!!”, Edward shouted back.
Hearing both of their quarrel, Rex steps between them before he looks at the woman.
“What are you afraid of?”, Rex asks, he saw the bleak aura coming from this woman is immense just like when he threatened Clarice.
The woman then replied in a panic, “You don’t understand!”
Rex frowns upon hearing this, but then the woman continues, “YOU WILL ATTRACT ITS ATTENTION!”, the woman shouted in horror.
Right after she said that,
ROAR!!
A very loud roar suddenly can be heard, the roar is still far but the thudding sound states that whatever the creature is, it is heading this way.
The woman falls to the ground butt first while looking at the sound direction in horror.
Adhara came out of the car after hearing the loud roar, “What is happening?”
Because of that roar, Edward also stopped whatever he’s doing and stand up while looking in the sound direction, “What kind of creature can make such a roar?”
“What is that creature? Tell me”, Rex asks while shaking the woman’s shoulders.
The woman then slowly looks at Rex before she said, “It is coming, Vashag is coming!! EVERYONE HIDE!!”, she shouted signaling to the others to hide.
After she shouted that, many figures that were supposed to be humans scattered around.
It seems the map is right to say that there’s a village here, but from Rex and the other’s standpoint they still can’t see the village
Only a couple of shadows beyond the mist can be seen running around.
“Vashag?”, Rex mumbles upon hearing the creature’s name.
Upon hearing what the creature’s name is, Rex and Edward, look at each other with a frown before they both look at Adhara in a union.
“There’s no way right?”, Edward said with a wry smile when suddenly,
THUD!!
BAM!!
Something landed from above right behind them, the moonlight creates a shadow from the creature that landed behind them as the shadow covers Rex and the others.
This caught each one of them off guard as the woman crawl back in fear.
Grrr…
The low growling sound can be heard as a cold wind brushed their backs, this makes Rex and the others’ bodies stiff.
Rex glance at his back slowly and saw the creature at his back,

<The Mist Demon>
Upon arriving at the door of Bleak Everson Hills, the user has been ambushed by the mist demon, Vashag. Once Vashag lays his eyes on something, he won’t stop until he gets them. Survive the ordeal without causalities!

Reading the sudden quest from the system, Rex’s expression turns pale, “Survive…”, he mutters.
It’s the first time the system asks Rex to survive rather than defeating something, this can only mean one thing, it’s impossible to kill Vashag at his current level!
“W-We jinxed it”, Edward said while stepping back.
From what the woman said, the creature in front of them is clearly Vashag.
Adhara already told them about this Vashag creature that has a name around the Bleak Everson Hills, but they laughed at her and thought that the story is made up.
The reason for this is because Lountain City is a developed level three city.
With that on their head, there is no way that Lountain City can thrive and develop if there’s a creature like Vashag.
They would be killed and obliterated by Vashag.
But now they need to swallow their own words, the creature is standing right in front of them.
Rex needs to raise his eyes up to see Vashag’s whole body,
Vashag is not exactly like what the story describes it to be, there are some differences.
Aside from the bat-like wings on Vashag’s back, its body is ashy color while its arms are blood red. Vashag’s body is slender and tall that reaches at least 10 feet, its eyes are glowing red and its face is more like an owl rather than a bat.
Looking at Vashag, Rex’s eyes glister as he scans it,

With the low agility, Rex can match it in terms of speed.
Because it’s currently night, Rex’s stats got enhanced by 50% thanks to his passive.
But all of his other stats got trampled easily by Vashag, but this shouldn’t be an impossible opponent to fight because he still got other buffs that he can use.
In fact, he may be able to match its stats aside from its ridiculously high mental stats.
“Edward, Adhara, Run!”, Rex shouted.
Right after he said that, both Edward and Adhara dashes away.
Without wasting any more seconds further, Rex grabs the woman that is crawling on the ground in fright and dashes away too.
ROAR!!
Looking at its prey running, Vashag went after them too.
Rex looks back trying to find Vashag but to his surprise, its entire presence vanished.
Feeling that Vashag is stalking them from beyond the mist, “Adhara!! Catch!”, Rex shouted as he tossed the woman that he carry.
But right after he tossed the woman,
SLASH!!
Vashag strikes Rex from the side by slashing him with its red claws.
Because of the mist and the heavy rain, Vashag’s presence can’t be sensed even with Rex’s werewolf senses as he got slashed right on his back.
“Rrrghh!”, Rex grunted as a nasty claw wound can be seen on his back.
With his insane reflex, Rex swings his fist to his back.
But instead of hitting something, Vashag disappears again like a ghost.
Rex didn’t have the time to idle around as he run after the others, he will be separated if they left him behind in this place filled with mist.
‘This mist is its natural advantage, we need to get out of here’, Rex thought.
Vashag appears again and clawed Rex’s side but this time, Rex manage to block it.
Rex’s arms are glowing with a yellow hue but then his eyes widen when he saw Vashag’s red claw is emitting an energy, with a push of its arm Rex got sent crashing to the side like a broken kite.
CRASH!!
BOOM!!
He got planted to the mountain’s wall because of that attack.
But when Rex snapped out of his daze, “ARGHH!!”, a shout can be heard from beyond the mist, it’s Adhara’s scream.
Rex activates his Pure Brace of Moonlight skill, force, and also his black lightning.
BOOM!
He dash towards the scream direction like a flying arrow, and then he saw Edward and Adhara putting their backs on each other.
After noticing that both of them are okay,
Rex looks to his side and vaguely saw a shadow inside the mist, his body started to blitz with black lightning as he points towards the shadow.
“Great Lightning Spell! Sky Rupture!”
CRACKK!!
BOOM!!
With a chant of his, Rex summons huge lightning strikes to hit the vague shadow that he thought was Vashag.
A second after the lightning strike hit the ground, Rex saw Vashag’s shadow inside the mist.
‘There!’, Rex thought as the ground turns black.
Rex activates his Black Field Orko spell as the ground turns black, but this time, the spell area is massively wider than when he’s still in the fifth rank.
Aside from that, the black lightning also emits many times more mana than before.
Right after the ground turns black, Rex summons dozens of black lightning tentacles and tries to catch Vashag that is inside the mist.
With its nimble movement, Vashag manages to dodge the tentacles.
But Rex already expected this as he summons another Sky Rupture right when Vashag jumped to avoid the black lightning tentacles.
The dark sky cracked open as a lightning bolt strikes down in a flash.
CRACK!!
BOOM!
It was summoned at the perfect moment but Vashag notices the lightning bolt too, its body disappears like a mist and appears on the side.
Thanks to Black Field Orko spell, Rex knows exactly where Vashag landed.
ROAR!!
Vashag got entangled by the black lightning tentacles as it feet landed on the ground.
While this is happening, Adhara and Edward also notice that the ground turns black as Vashag roar enters their ears.
“Edward, take this woman and run. I’ll help Rex”, Adhara said.
Hearing this, Edward nodded his head because he know that Adhar is stronger than him and she will be better at helping Rex.
After Edward left, Adhara looks at Vashag that got entangled by Rex’s spell.
SWOOSH!!
Her eyes burn with purple fire as a fire vortex levitated her from the ground, she looks like a fire goddess as she stands on the purple fire vortex.
“Great Spell!”, Adhara chanted as a purple fire line appeared around the entangled Vashag.
The rune on her neck and her hand glows brightly enhancing the fire mana that she absorbed, it was simply astonishing for a fifth rank.
If anyone were to see Adhara’s spell right now, their eyes will pop out.
This great spell is not something a fifth rank can do, she’s simply a monster just like Rex.
The fire mana got absorbed by the purple fire line on the ground as it started to glow brighter, with a clap of Adhara’s hands, “Fire Maelstorm!!”
BOOM!!
A huge purple fire vortex blasted from the ground engulfing Vashag in the process.
The place turns purplish because of the fire vortex bursting from the ground, anyone inside the mist will definitely see this occurrence.
But the event is not over yet,
Seeing the purple fire vortex that erupted from the ground, a smile appeared on Rex’s face.
RUMBLE!!
The dak sky rumble with lightning as Rex’s body blitz with heavy lightning mana, all of the lightning mana in the surrounding got sucked into him.
With the everlasting storm that embodied this place, the lightning mana here is abundant.
Rex points his hand to the sky as he tries to gather the lightning mana on the sky,
Because of reaching the sixth rank, Rex feels that he can do anything right now as three swirls appeared in the dark stormy sky.
“SUCK ON THIS!!”, Rex shouted as the three swirls rumble with lightning.
CRACKKK!
Three lightning bolts struck down from the sky,
Rex conjures three Sky Rupture spell at the same time, it’s a feat that he can’t possibly do without achieving the sixth rank and assimilating with Devo.
BLITZ!!
The three lightning bolts hit the purple fire vortex,
Lightning and Purple Fire clash with each other creating an even more powerful phenomenon.
With a spark of both elements,
BOOM!!
The purple fire vortex that is also blitzing with black lightning exploded.
Even Rex himself got blasted away because of the lightning blast, and so is Adhara who is also not far away from the lightning blast.
After the blast receded, Rex stands back up while looking in the explosion direction.
“Did we kill it?”, Rex mumbles after recovering from the explosion.
