Seeing Daohua sleeping soundly with relaxed brows, Xiao Yeyang let go of his worries. After covering her with a cloak, he also closed his eyes to rest and soon fell asleep too.

Having just woken up, her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were hazy, a dazed and adorable appearance that softened Xiao Yeyang’s heart. He chuckled, “Awake?”
Daohua nodded subconsciously, then realized she was lying on Xiao Yeyang’s legs and was tightly gripping his hand. She immediately let go in embarrassment and tried to sit up, but as she moved, the cloak on top of her slid off.
Xiao Yeyang did not bother with the cloak but quickly stabilized her, “Be careful, don’t fall. If you tear your wound open again, what will you do?” Seeing a few strands of hair falling across her forehead, he reached out and gently brushed them away with a smile.

Startled by the push, Xiao Yeyang leaned back against the carriage wall, while Daohua took the chance to sit up. However, she had pulled at her wound too forcefully, causing her face to crumple in pain.
