When the initial awkward moment had passed, Lance and the others came over to Leon, but they kept their distance. The boys were wary of Mica, as he might lash out and breathe his dangerous fire onto them.
“Three idiots, huh?” Leon chuckled as they came to a stop by his side. Lance turned to glare fiercely at him, but could not muster a response to those words.
“Anyway, that does not matter now.” Leon turned to face Nasir. “Nasir, I have sent word to someone reliable concerning what you have told me. If what you say if true, then I cannot handle things on my own.” He said.
Leon had sent a few of his Dark Wing Eagles, including Oris, with letters for certain people. The letters contained news of the Demons’ impending invasion of the Central Continent. Oris himself was heading to Fort Bender, where he would hand over a letter to Sir Darion, the A rank mage that had joined forces with Richard to repel Amelia Steelheart.
The rest of the birds would be sent to some of the trustworthy traders that were currently cooperating with Leon to do with it as they saw fit.
Of course, Leon sent one more bird to a friend of his, Jet Armstrong.
Leon had done a bit of fishing around ever since Divinity’s Bout had come to an end. He had found out from Sir Balder who the Armstrong family were. The Armstrong family was a regressed noble house in a distant kingdom that could be found in the middle of the Central Continent. They had lost their place as one of the middle ranking houses due to their patriarch getting crippled in his abilities, and them losing a few other powerful family members. After that, they had been suppressed by their rivals in the kingdom ever since.
The name of the kingdom where they came from was the Turas Kingdom, a small but relatively wealthy kingdom with decent military strength.
Leon’s letter to the Armstrong family was not just to inform them about the coming invasion, but also to invite them over to his lands, where they could grow unimpeded under him. He felt that he should at least extend this opportunity to his friend.
Now, all he had to do was wait while completing his own preparations. Already, thousands of his summons were roaming the edges of the continent in preparation for the incoming battle. They would be the meat grinder that would stall any invasion forces that tired to encroach onto the continent through the Desolate Lands.
While they would not last forever, the battles would serve as a good way for his summons to level up and get even stronger, and not to mention, a conflict of this scale was sure to direct a good amount of experience into his coffers, preparing him for his next Race Advancement.
For some reason, Leon had the feeling that he would not be able to breach the barrier that cut off his path from A rank without the boost from a Race Advancement. However, that was only just on paper. His combat strength would surely step into the realm of A rank. The Race Advancement was just a barrier that would make things slower for him.
It was already obvious to Leon that as long as he advanced his race once again, he would be able to stand up against many forces that he ordinarily would not be able to face at his current level. An A rank being was vastly different from a B rank being. Even up till now, with his vast amounts of mana, he was still unable to summon those ten knights that had randomly showed up during the boss battle on the third floor of the Tower of Trials. He guessed that it would remain that way until he advanced his race again.
For some reason, Leon viewed it as how a King had the authority for make the most powerful knights of his kingdom adhere to his bidding, while a mere Royal that was not the King did not have this same privilege.
Leon briefly cast his mind into one of his summons’ consciousness, and in a moment, he was able to see what it was working on.
The Armored Centaur was carrying a giant block of stone that was neatly cut on its shoulders. Its sturdy steps were quick even with the immense weight on its backside as it rushed to the edge of the ruined port that was once been Garn’s base of operations. Through its eyes, Leon could see dozens of other summons working. They were building up a massive wall to encompass a vast distance. It would be the primary defense that would sink any incoming ships in the coming battles.
Leon knew for sure that the wall would eventually be brought down, but for now, he wanted to utilize as much of an advantage that he had as possible. It was only by doing this that he would be able to cause ruinous casualties for the invading force, as well as slowing them down enough for reinforcements from other sources to arrive.
Cutting off the connection, Leon nodded his head. He was very satisfied with the speed of work that his summons were able to achieve. By the time a month had passed, he was sure that they would be ready to repel the initial wave of attackers, and if the Demons stuck to their original plans, then the defenses would be even stronger.
However, Leon doubted that the Demons would stick to their original plans. There was no way that they would not know that Nasir had leaked vital information. They should also be adjusting their plans, and if Leon was right, then they would have moved the date of their attack to an earlier date.
‘At worst, I should expect them to have already set out…’ Leon sighed in his mind. But he was ready. The Demons would not pass the boundaries of the Desolate Lands and lay ruins to the Central Continent.
He turned to look at Rodius. The man had taken it upon himself to travel through the Desolate Lands and gather up any people he could find. That way, they could all gather at Fort White to avoid unnecessary casualties when the Demons first struck.
