As per usual practice, Jiang Fei added all his stat points to Vitality. His Health Points and Defense had grown quite a fair bit. Fighting monsters had also become far less arduous. Although he was still not yet completely free of potions, he no longer had to glug them down like consecutive shots in Oktoberfest!
Half an hour later, Jiang Fei finally came upon the second boss of the dungeon!

Clearly, this Bearmen’s boss was way more ferocious, compared to the previous Tigermen’s boss. It had much higher attack and Health Points. Besides, the mysterious ring actually deemed it to have an above average threat level!
“Alright, let’s give it a shot!” Jiang Fei had already cleared the dungeon up to this point. He was not one to lay down without first trying. Besides, the death penalty within dungeons was not as severe. If a player died in regular maps, he would lose an entire level. Even if a healing class resurrected him, he would still lose 50% of that level’s Experience Points. The death penalty within dungeons was way lower. It only entailed a loss of 20% Experience Points. This also served as an incentive for players to challenge dungeons. If stepping into a dungeon risked the loss of their hard-earned levels, why even try?!

However, his subsequent normal attacks were somewhat embarrassing. They averaged at around 20 points of damage. It was simply disastrous and barely watchable. Fortunately, the Lifesteal and Laceration effects were still keeping up the damage output!
“Ow!” After 2 seconds, the boss regained consciousness. The spike in damage output had sent the boss into an immediate frenzy!

The boss’s entire body started glowing red. Its attack value had multiplied. With one Bash, it had dealt almost 200 damage on Jiang Fei!
“Roar!” As if triumphant with his counterattack, the Bearmen’s boss let out a furious roar. Grey light flashed through Jiang Fei’s body. He looked at his own attack value. It had dropped to 12!
The boss’s Roar could drastically weaken a player’s attack. But this skill was really too much of a waste to be used against Jiang Fei. Jiang Fei’s attack originally sucked, to begin with. Reducing his attack was pointless!

As the man and bear fought on, the Laceration effect on the boss was now at 10 stacks. However, Jiang Fei’s Health Points was now below 50%. He had already started drinking potions!

After Jiang Fei leveled up, his Vitality had once again increased. In extension to that, he had gained even more hitpoints. The damage by the Blazing Hammer had also relatively shot up! At the same time, the Laceration count was up to 10 stacks. The bleeding effect of 100 damage per second turned out to be rather impressive!
As the battle progressed, both sides traded heavy blows. Even though Jiang Fei had begun drinking potions, he was quickly losing ground. Even his recovery effect from Lifesteal barely helped!
This was even when the boss’s frenzy was unsustainable. Otherwise, Jiang Fei would have long been bear-slapped to death!

“Little brother, you’ve truly got me worried! Where the heck do you find a forge with such a freak?” Lady Casanova muttered to herself, flicking the blood and gore off her mace, right after extricating it from the bashed skull of a Level 22 monster.
