“Great adventurer! We must speak inside!”
One of the spies pushed the door open and invited Jiang Fei in.
“Alright!” Jiang Fei said as he nodded. He was not afraid to walk in, fully confident that he could handle the two of them in a fight.
As soon as Jiang Fei stepped in, the two spies exchanged looks. One of them drew a line under his neck with his finger.
The other person nodded as he quietly retrieved a scroll.
Jiang Fei quickly took note that the room was covered with weird symbols everywhere. He did not know what they meant. Apart from that, he also picked up the strong stench of blood.
“What do you propose?” Jiang Fei turned around and asked.
“We plan to offer this!” The two said as they closed the door after stepping in. At the same time, one of them held a Magic scroll in their hands.
“What kind of scroll is this?” Jiang Fei asked.
“You will soon find out!” The person holding the scroll replied and laughed coldly. He tore the scroll open and flung it at Jiang Fei.
“Oh, bloody hell!”
Although Jiang Fei had his guard up, he had not expected the enemy to move this soon. After all, he had never played a game with such intelligent NPCs!
Noticing that it was a Magic scroll, he immediately activated Demon’s Harbourage to deflect any potential spells.
His blood ran cold as contrary to his expectations, the scroll instead emitted a white glow of light.
It was a random Teleport Scroll!
This was no Magic skill. Therefore, Demon’s Harbourage had no effect whatsoever.
“Oh, goddamnit!”
Jiang Fei’s body disappeared along with the white light as he cursed his foes.
“I will report this to our boss. He’ll be back. You should make use of the time and complete the job. We’ll have to push the schedule forward!” One of them said after Jiang Fei had been teleported away.
“Alright! I understand!” The other person said and nodded.
The two spies were rather intelligent. As Jiang Fei was an adventurer, he could never be silenced for good. In fact, Jiang Fei looked very formidable. They might not even be able to silence him temporarily. Therefore, they decided to teleport Jiang Fei out of Dawnlight City. At least they had bought themselves some time before he returned with guards.
Jiang Fei found himself in yet another foreign map. He was located in a tiny, shallow cave. It was about the size of a small room, and was as bare as a beggar’s cellar.
Just as Jiang Fei prepared a Return Scroll to return to the city, he found it to be utterly unusable.
Dimensional Chaos: As you have just only used a spatial Magic scroll, you are unable to use other spatial scrolls in the next three hours!
As Jiang Fei had only ever used the Return Scrolls, such a status had never troubled him before. Of course, he would be unaware of such a limitation.
“Forget it, I’m already here!” Jiang Fei said as he shook his head and walked out of the cave. He should at least check the site out.
“Ding! You have discovered the Flaming Plains! You have obtained 11,000 Experience points!”
“Bloody hell! Where the hell did they send me?” Jiang Fei started yelling as soon as he saw the system notification. 11,000 Experience points meant that this map had to be one of a very high level. Even arriving at the Entrance of the Void had not provided such an amount!
The monsters at the Entrance to the Void was already around Level 60 and above. The map level here was even higher than that of the Entrance to the Void. It was a given that the monsters here would out-level him as well!
With that thought in mind, Jiang Fei held the Black Dragon Scale even tighter in his hands. He hoped that Init Stata’s Dragon Scale would scare off the monsters around here. Otherwise, Jiang Fei would be no better than chicken feed.
After exiting the cave, Jiang Fei took a few steps forward before bumping into a humanoid being that stood over three meters.

“Oh, f*ck me… This is actually the Demon’s map…”
Jiang Fei felt like fainting right there and then. The Demon Race’s weaklings started off at Level 60. You would never find anything lower than that. A Level 75 Advanced Elite had just appeared before him as soon as he came out. Needless to say, this was not the outskirts of the map. It was at least the middle stage of the maps. Init Stata was a Level 80 Lord. As it was, Jiang Fei was still capable of suppressing these monsters with the Black Dragon Scale. Heaven forbade him running into a Lord at this rate.
*Buzzes*
Jiang Fei’s Treasure Hunting Ring was releasing a blinding glow. A large yellow arrow was directing him somewhere into the distance.
“Oh, of course! The Fruit of the Devil just had to be here. I can’t afford to screw up now,” Jiang Fei said with a groan. A final ingredient was needed to complete his Race Quest, but it also meant great danger.
*Rumble*
Right then, Jiang Fei felt the ground shaking.
“What is happening?” Jiang Fei asked as he subconsciously turned around. A few hundred meters away was a giant monster walking towards him.
It was no small distance, but the monster’s sheer size almost took up all of Jiang Fei’s vision. It was at least forty meters tall, and was practically a moving mountain. The monster’s appearance was similar to that of a huge hound. However, its entire body burned with a bright flame.
Lava Demon Hound (Demon, Lord)

As they were too far apart, the Mysterious Ring could not fully surmise its details. But Jiang Fei knew better than to approach it for a more accurate reading. God knows the attack range of this thing, which most probably scaled to its size. If it caught Jiang Fei in its sight, there would be no escape.
Right then, there was a cliff to Jiang Fei’s left. The Lava Demon Hound was in the opposite direction. His only path of escape was forwards, which was also the direction where the Treasure Hunting Ring wanted him to go.
Jiang Fei ran for his life. Fortunately, the Black Dragon Scale was still in effect. The little monsters around him did not attack him, while the Lava Demon Hound did not discover him.
Even while in relative safety, Jiang Fei did not dare rest until the Lava Demon Hound was out of his sight.
“F*ck it! Arrow’s headed that way. Let’s find out if I can even get close to the Fruit of the Devil in the first place!”
Jiang Fei made up his mind. He was only attempting to flee from the Lava Demon Hound. The only safe route happened to be the Fruit of the Devil. If he could not shake the danger off, he would try to seek wealth in the midst of that danger!
After sprinting for nearly 30 minutes, Jiang Fei finally caught sight of his target.
