Kent Clark stood inside the vast chamber of the Devil Mountain, facing Elder Mahavir’s spirit form. Despite the serene surroundings, a heavy pressure filled the air. The tomb-like structure behind Mahavir exuded an aura of ancient power, as if it had witnessed countless eras pass by.
“Ask whatever doubts you have, Kent Clark. You are my benefactor now,” Elder Mahavir said, his voice deep and calm.
Kent hesitated for a moment, then spoke. “The War God told me that your tomb has been here for centuries. But you… you’re still alive in the Immortal World?”
Elder Mahavir nodded. “Yes. From your perspective, it has been millions of years.”
Kent’s eyes widened in shock. “Millions of years? That’s impossible! Even immortals would fear such an enormous passage of time. Surely, your relatives, your original body… they must be long gone?”
Elder Mahavir smiled, the wisdom of countless years reflected in his expression. “Kent Clark, you don’t need to worry about that. My family in the Immortal World remains unchanged.”
“What do you mean? Ten million years… even stars die in such a span. Whole civilizations collapse!” Kent’s voice carried disbelief.
Mahavir let out a soft chuckle. “You lack understanding of time as it works in the Immortal World. There is an old saying in the God’s Scriptures: ‘One day for the immortal, a thousand years for a mortal.’ The time flow is vastly different between realms.”
Kent’s heart pounded. “Are you saying… that time moves slower in the Immortal World?”
Mahavir nodded. “Precisely. You won’t believe my words after knowing the time difference. One day in the Immortal World is equivalent to a thousand years in your realm. From the perspective of the Immortals, the mortal worlds are like passing clouds, fleeting and insignificant. What is an entire civilization to an immortal who sleeps and wakes up to find centuries have passed?”
Kent felt a deep tremor in his soul. The realization hit him hard. “So… ten million years here… means you’ve only been away for about twenty-five years in the Immortal World?”
“Yes,” Mahavir confirmed. “A mere twenty-five years in my time. Even if it were a hundred, it would be nothing to the Immortal World.”
Kent took a deep breath, trying to process the scale of the difference. “It’s like an insect trying to comprehend the lifespan of a mountain…”
Mahavir smiled knowingly. “Now you understand. Even if your Blue Planet thrives for another hundred thousand years, in the eyes of an immortal, it is but a fleeting moment.”
Kent clenched his fists. “Even if time moves differently, It is hard for me to abandon the Nine Realms. If I leave, the Blue Planet may fall again. The remnants of the demon race could return. Other civilizations may rise to conquer it. I can’t turn my back on them.”
Elder Mahavir sighed. “Kent Clark, you are destined to become an immortal. Why bother with the fleeting struggles of this realm? In one night’s sleep in the Immortal World, a thousand years will pass here. The universe constantly shifts, planets are destroyed, races go extinct… why do you hold on so tightly?”
“Because my family is here. My people are here,” Kent said firmly. “They are not just passing clouds to me.”
Mahavir’s eyes softened. “Even so, can you truly protect them forever? The cycle of destruction and rebirth is inevitable. No ruler can hold onto a kingdom indefinitely.”
Kent remained silent for a moment, considering Mahavir’s words. The elder wasn’t wrong. He had fought to protect his home, but history had shown that even the greatest empires fell in time. Could he really change fate itself?
Finally, he exhaled deeply. “I won’t fight against time itself, Elder. But I can prepare my people. I can leave them the tools to survive without me.”
Mahavir nodded approvingly. “That is a wise decision. Pass on what you must, but do not delay. You have only thirteen days.”
Kent’s mind whirled with thoughts. He had so much to do in such a short time. He needed to establish a stable governing system, ensure the development of resources, and pass on techniques that would allow humanity to advance on their own.
“I will establish a council to oversee the future of the Nine Realms,” Kent said. “I will pass down the knowledge of mana cultivation, war strategies, and governing principles. After that… I will leave.”
Mahavir smiled. “That is all you can do. After that, fate will take its course.”
Kent exhaled. “Still, the idea of leaving everything behind… it doesn’t sit well with me.”
“You are merely stepping into the next chapter of your journey,” Mahavir said. “When you arrive in the Immortal World, new battles, new challenges, and new allies will await you. But if you hold onto your past too tightly, you will never move forward.”
Kent nodded slowly. “I understand.”
Mahavir placed a hand on Kent’s shoulder. “There is one last thing. When you reach the Immortal World, you must find me. I have given you the way, but you must fulfill your promise.”
“I will,” Kent swore. “I will find you, Elder, and I will free you from the Jian Family.”
Mahavir chuckled. “Good. Then go, Kent Clark. Use these thirteen days well.”
Kent took a deep breath, looking at the ancient chamber one last time. He had come here searching for a path, and now he had one. His heart was conflicted, torn between duty and destiny, but he knew he had to move forward.
He turned away and started walking. “Thank you, Elder Mahavir. I will not waste this chance.”
As he stepped out of the cave, a gust of wind rushed past him, as if the world itself was acknowledging the weight of his decision.
Sweeping all his douts aside, Kent began his journey back to home. While flying on his throne, Kent began thinking about the 13 people he need to take with him.
“I shouldn’t have accepted these many women.” Kent thought while scratching his head.
