Being cautious was never a bad thing, but one might miss a chance if they were overly cautious! That was a proverb that anyone in any universe could get behind. That was also the reason why Mephisto was so cautious at the moment despite having the power to wreak havoc on Earth!
Dio immediately returned to the battlefield, and Mephisto was having a tough time dealing with him! Mephisto was still convinced that the human that he fought now wouldn’t be able to cause him any harm beyond flesh wounds. Although Dio kept Mephisto in check, Mephisto didn’t take him seriously!
“I’m gonna cut you down!” Dio said as he swung his scythe directly towards Mephisto’s eyes. The scythe emitted purple energy that Mephisto never saw before, and once it got close to his head, Mephisto realised that he must avoid it at all cost, but it was too late!
Mephisto realised that the purple energy on the scythe has the same wavelength as the beam of light that the weird aircraft fired at him earlier. But the purple energy on the scythe was far more intense than that beam of light, meaning that the scythe was far more powerful than that beam of light!
“Damn you!” Mephisto cursed Dio as Mephisto immediately pulled out a black giant sword and tried to block Dio’s attack with it! Mephisto roared, and immediately a tall mountain appeared behind him. When the scythe collided with Mephisto’s black sword, an explosion of energy was ensued, killing so many low-level demons around the vicinity. The explosion even distorted the space around them, causing catastrophe to anything in the vicinity.
“I will tear you apart!” Dio said as he put a little more force in his footwork and pushed forward. The volcano that kept Mephisto on his feet began to shatter as it couldn’t withstand so much force from Dio’s scythe. Mephisto himself was pushed back to the Serpentine Door with so many injuries on his body. Mephisto even spurted a mouthful of blood as he used the door to prop himself.
But even if he was full of wounds, the black sword on his hand was unscathed! There was no question that the main weapon that Mephisto wielded was some universe-grade weapon! But even so, his situation now wasn’t good!
Seeing that he successfully gave Mephisto a beating, Dio felt proud of himself! Although it was thanks to the power of Power Gem, it was his achievement nonetheless, and it wasn’t something that even the Ancient One managed to do in the past!
“This is not your own power, is it Human?” Mephisto said as he regained his senses and gazed at Dio. To be fair, Mephisto has already done his share of scouting the Earth before his invasion, but he didn’t know Dio’s ability and the power of the Dark Battleship. As a result, he couldn’t plan ahead of time for this kind of situation! Mephisto always thought that the human wouldn’t be able to stop him, so he never expected something like this!
“You are naïve, human!” Mephisto shouted coldly. No one dared to attack the Hell Lord as he was the peak of power in one of the most power-filled dimensions in the universe, but Dio had done something unprecedented!
However, Dio didn’t care. After all, all was fair in war, as winning was all that mattered in the end! As long as you can wield it efficiently, it didn’t matter whose weapon they used! This was Dio’s principle on war. In other words, nothing Mephisto said would deter him!
At that moment, Mephisto felt the emotion that he hadn’t felt for a long time. It was real anger, the maddening furiousness that he hadn’t felt from the beginning of his time! He never had any challenge before, and no one dared to talk back to him for a long time!
If the human in front of him didn’t care about whose power he was using, then Mephisto would teach him what true power was!
In a blink of an eye, Mephisto’s 20-meter high figure shrunk down to about 3 meters. The giant black sword on his hand also shrunk down significantly until its fit on Mephisto’s hands! But shrinking down like this didn’t mean that his power was weakened, no! in fact, Mephisto’s power was enhanced! To begin with, Mephisto wouldn’t have a chance to do anything if the Supreme Sanctuary wasn’t destroyed in the first place!
“Now die!” Dio shouted as the dance of the Red Scythe commenced! But this time, the scythe was enhanced by the Power Gem, and it wasn’t red anymore as the Power Gem’s aura completely turned the scythe purple!
However, Dio’s death dance wasn’t scary for Mephisto as he just stood still and reached out. Suddenly, a sea of fire emerged under his feet, and each of Dio’s attacks was blocked by the flooding lava! Dio immediately frowned as he was a little bit surprised that Mephisto still had some trick up his sleeve!
