Chapter 10: calm!

“What kind of things are you security guards?”

“My Old Chen family has guarded the border for three generations, shedding blood and making sacrifices for the country. Today, at my own doorstep, I fought back against a few scoundrels who came to bully people, and you want to arrest me indiscriminately?”

“Is this the kind of thing we are guarding in the front for you?”

Chen Yuan’s words lectured the security guards like grandsons; no one dared to refute him.

Standing on the moral high ground, he felt great!

Captain Huang was sweating profusely, repeatedly expressing his apologies, “Comrade Chen, this is all my oversight. I offer you my most sincere apologies. Could you tell us the true story of what happened? I will handle it impartially!”

“After my transfer, I was assigned to this house. Who knew that as soon as I entered, I would encounter these people acting high and mighty, trying to seize one of my rooms!” Chen Yuan snorted, his finger pointing at Jia Zhangshi, “I was merely acting in self-defense!”

Sha Zhu huddled on the ground, his eyes full of fear, realizing he shouldn’t have stepped forward this time.

Jia Zhangshi stood by, listening to Chen Yuan’s accusations, her face turning from pale to red. She shrieked, “Nonsense! No matter what, it’s wrong for you to hit people! Look what you’ve done to us! You must compensate us!”

“Being loud doesn’t mean you’re right!” A hint of mockery flashed in Chen Yuan’s eyes, “It was clearly you who instigated this person to make the first move! As for you breaking into my house and being righteously kicked out by me, what more do you have to say?”

Captain Huang coughed twice. Although he knew in his heart that Chen Yuan’s “righteousness” was a bit excessive, the weight of the officer’s ID was too heavy.

“Old lady, you are clearly looking for trouble!” Captain Huang said sternly to Jia Zhangshi, “Comrade Chen is a transferred soldier, and the house was assigned by his unit. You trespassing on private property is an illegal act, do you know that?”

Yi Zhonghai was bewildered by this sudden turn of events and still wanted to argue a few words, but seeing Captain Huang’s warning gaze, he could only admit defeat.

At this moment, the situation that should have been under his control turned into soliciting Chen Yuan’s opinion; the balance of power had completely shifted.

“I’m just a retired soldier, how do I have the right to manage these things? Captain Huang, you must be joking.” Chen Yuan said with deliberate sarcasm.

“Not at all, we all respect soldiers like you, and besides, they infringed upon your rights. Whatever you say, as long as it’s reasonable, we will follow!” Captain Huang said with a smiling face.

Chen Yuan nodded, his aura imposing, “Take this big oaf and the old woman for re-education; let them reflect properly! As for the others… a verbal warning will suffice, especially some of the managing grandpas, who should set an example but instead lead in wrongdoing!”

Captain Huang immediately nodded like pounding garlic, “No problem, no problem! Come on, take them away!”

Two security personnel immediately stepped forward, controlling Jia Zhangshi and Sha Zhu one on each side.

Sha Zhu was escorted out, his usual arrogance gone from his face, that wild energy rarely reined in for once.

Jia Zhangshi struggled incessantly, cursing: “Why are you arresting me? What law did I break? Lao Yi, say something!”

However, Yi Zhonghai, seeing the unfavorable situation, had already quietly retreated behind the crowd. Hearing Jia Zhangshi’s shouts, he just lowered his head in silence, not daring to utter a word, not wanting to get burned.

Captain Huang watched the two being taken away, then turned back to the onlookers and began to explain the law.

“Everyone has seen it, trespassing on private property is an illegal act, and legitimate self-defense is a citizen’s legal right. I hope everyone takes this as a warning and abides by the law…”

However, the crowd at this moment couldn’t hear these words; they only knew that a formidable character had arrived in the Four-in-one courtyard!

The residents of the Four-in-one courtyard whispered to each other, their eyes filled with shock and awe.

After Qin Huairu left, Yi Zhonghai stared in the direction of the backyard, his eyes filled with resentment.
