The day of the outdoor training had already arrived. All of the shooting club members were prepared for the training, however, only the new club members seemed to be excited about it. This was their first time at the outdoor training facility. Yu Qi was no different. Even though her face did not show any of her emotions, inside, she felt very excited. But she was happy because of another reason. It had been a long time since she last saw Long Hui. It was a very exciting feeling.
The bus brought them to the military camp located at Shiwa Town. The journey took five hours to reach its destination. Zhu Xiao Ling had fallen asleep on Yu Qi's shoulder during the trip.
"Xiao Ling, wake up. We have arrived." Yu Qi patted Zhu Xiao Ling's cheek when the bus arrived at its destination.
Zhu Xiao Ling woke up and rubbed her eyes. "We have arrived?"
"Yes. Let's go out." Yu Qi stood up.
The club members went out one by one. Most of them had just woken up from their sleep.
"Senior, we need to wait here?" One of the club members asked. The weather was not very hot, but it was still warm enough to make them uncomfortable just standing here.
"Yes. We need to wait for the officer to come and bring us in. This is an active military base, we can not just enter. Civilians are not permitted to enter the base without notice or a proper escort. If the soldiers thought that we are a threat, we might end up injured by them." Captain Heng Ru Yen said.
Hearing the reason from Captain Heng Ru Yen, they waited in silence. After fifteen minutes of waiting, two soldiers came out and invited them to enter the military camp.
Of the two soldiers, one was a man while another one was a woman. They led the shooting club members to the rooms that they would spend their two weeks in. They asked the club members to put away all the things that they had brought and followed them out to an assembly point.
A man was waiting for them. Yu Qi could guess who was the man. When the man turned around to reveal his face, Yu Qi could see that his eyes were on her for a moment before he looked around towards the other club members.
"Some of you already know me, but for those that are seeing me for the first time, I'm Commander Long, your instructor for this training. I want to remind you, this is a military camp. Those who break the rules here will be punished with military law." Long Hui stated in a stern tone.
"Understood?" asked Long Hui.
The club members that knew Long Hui answered in a loud voice like a soldier. "Yes, Sir."
"You can go to eat first. I want you to gather here at eight p.m sharp. I don't want anyone to be late." Long Hui gave his first order to the club members.
"Yes, Sir." The club members answered again in a loud voice.
A soldier led them to the dining hall and the club members lined up like the soldiers to be served the food.
They ate quickly so that they would not be late for Long Hui. The new club members watched the old club members and followed them as a chick followed its hen.
Yu Qi also ate faster. She also encouraged Zhu Xiao Ling to eat faster. After eating, Yu Qi and Zhu Xiao Ling went to their room. There were a few female soldiers already inside the room.
"You are from Starlight University?" Asked one of the female soldiers in the room.
"Yes." Yu Qi answered in a calm tone.
"So, which one of you won the shooting competition?"
"I am," Yu Qi answered again.
The female soldiers became quiet. They looked at each other. Zhu Xiao Ling became scared when the female soldiers started acting like this. She was afraid that Yu Qi would become bullied by the women. Then one of the female soldiers approached them.
"Can I shake hands with you?" The female soldier asked out of the blue.
Yu Qi and Zhu Xiao Ling were dumbfounded with the situation.
"Of course." Yu Qi snapped out of her daze and replied.
She extended her hand to the female soldier.
"I went to the shooting competition to see the event. Your skills were very good, even a soldier like myself can not compare to you." The female soldier said in admiration. "By the way, my name is Kang Jiu and my rank is Corporal. You can call in Sister Jie in this room but please refer to me as Corporal Kang when we are outside."
"Sure. My name is Tang Yu Qi and this is Zhu Xiao Ling." Yu Qi introduced Zhu Xiao Ling and herself to everyone.
"Zhu as Captain Zhu of North?" The female soldier asked.
"Captain Zhu?" Yu Qi also turned to Zhu Xiao Ling.
"That is my father." Zhu Xiao Ling answered.
"I see." Corporal Kang Jiu nodded.
"Sister Jiu, we need to clean up as we need to get to the assembly point on time as Commander Long ordered."
" The devil will be your instructor?" Another female soldier asked in scared.
"Yes."
"Okay. Go on. Quickly. Don't be late. The devil sure will punish you." Another female soldier urged them to go.
Yu Qi asked herself. Is this Long Hui really that scary? Yu Qi could not see it. But somehow, he even gained a nickname like 'the devil'.
