Long Hui walked to the group of nurses.
"Excuse me. Is Doctor Yu Qi still in the surgery room?" Long Hui asked.
"Ye... Yes..." The nurse answered.
They did not expect that Long Hui would come over and ask them about his fiancee.
"I see... Thank you." Long Hui nodded.
Long Hui walked to the cafe to wait for Yu Qi. Of course, his presence caught everyone's attention. He ordered a cup of coffee and sat at the corner of the cafe. He looked at his phone. He turned blind to those eyes.
Then, someone approached his table. He immediately frowned while looking up. He was stunned to see the person who came over. He thought it was someone who he did not know but it was not the case.
Long Hui stood up. "Brother-in-law."
It was Tang Han Lee who came over.
"What are you doing here?" Tang Han Lee asked.
He did not expect to see Long Hui in the cafe.
"Do you wait for Little Sis?" Tang Han Lee asked more.
"Yes. I have been told that she is the surgery right now." Long Hui said.
"I see." Tang Han Lee said. "I have to go now. Enjoy your time here."
Long Hui nodded. He turned his eyes to his phone again. The cafe was not too silent. He still could hear everyone talking.
"Ahhhhhh!!!!"
Then the scream erupted. Long Hui searched for the source. His eyes locked on the man who had a knife on a kid's neck.
"Mom...." The child cried in fear calling for his mother.
"Please, let my child go." The woman trembled while begging for the man's mercy.
Everyone there had backed up fearing this situation would affect them.
"Why should I? My child is gone. I want your child to accompany my child over." The man placed the knife even closer to the child's neck.
"Mom... Mom..." The child cried over.
He struggled with the man's arm. The knife touched the neck and the blood came out. Feeling the pain, the child cried more loudly.
"Shut up, you brat! Otherwise, I will make you bleed more." The man shouted at the child.
The child went silent but he still cried in silence.
Long Hui narrowed his eyes. He slowly approached the man from behind. He signalled everyone to keep silent. However, he asked the mother to keep talking to the man. The mother understood the signal.
"Please. Let my child go. I will do anything." The mother said.
"Because of your child, my son lost his life. Your child should accompany my son." The man shouted back.
The man was very angry that he did not notice that someone was behind him. Long Hui quickly grabbed the child from the man and forced the man to kneel.
"Argh!" The man shouted in pain.
Long Hui let go of the child. The child rushed to his mother. The mother took his child and backed up distancing themselves from the man.
The man looked at Long Hui. He stood up and wanted to stab Long Hui. Long Hui blocked his hand and casually took the knife away from the man. Then, he forced the man to lay on the ground and restrained the man's movement.
"You... You... Let me go!" The man shouted.
"Call the police. And treat the child's wound." Long Hui said.
Everyone just realized the situation. They should call the police. A nurse who was about to eat approached the child and examined the child's wound.
"Madam, follow me." The nurse said.
The police came in 10 minutes. The person who called them had explained the situation to them in the call. When they arrived, they could see the suspect had been restrained by
someone.
"Colonel Long?" The police officer exclaimed when he realized who the person who restrained the suspect.
"Hmm..." Long Hui responded. "Take him."
"Yes." The police officer asked his subordinates to take the man.
The man was struggling and he was about to get away from the police. Long Hui stepped in and hit the neck of the man. He lost his consciousness.
Everyone looked shocked.
Long Hui looked at the police officers. "He has not died yet."
"Go... Go..." The police officer said to his subordinates. He turned back to Long Hui. "Thank you, Colonel Long, for your help. Otherwise, an innocent life might be lost."
"It is my duty to protect everyone." Long Hui said.
The police officer saluted Long Hui and Long Hui responded with a quick salute.
Long Hui went back to his table and sat down.
"What just happened?" An onlooker who just came over asked someone.
"A crazy man snatched a child and threatened to kill the child to accompany his son. It seemed
his son had died."
"Then, what's next?"
"Do you see the man over there?"
"What's about him? Wait, do you mean he is the culprit? How can you let him be?
"It is not like that, you idiot. He is the one who subdues the culprit and he did it smoothly. I
heard the police officer call him, Colonel Long."
