The tables Ye Qing reserved were already full, but she purposely glanced back at them then said apologetically: “oh my, looks like there are no seats left… Why don’t I ask for two extra chairs so you can sit behind us? I’m sure we all can help you with the dishes.”
“Don’t bother – I find your tables too cramped to be comfortable anyway. I don’t mind if any of our classmates wish to join us for a more comfortable meal though,” Jing Yunzhao said boldly as she walked towards Ye Qing.
Jing Yunzhao was tall and slim and was wearing the new clothes that she had bought for herself today. With her confidence, she looked like she was the one from a rich family rather than Ye Qing, and her calm demeanour ticked Ye Qing off.
“Let’s drop the act, Jing Yunzhao. You said you made a reservation here, so where is your table then? And even if you really did make a reservation, how do we know that it’s not Xiao Haiqing who is paying for the meal? We all know that Xiao Haiqing is from a rich family and has enough to pay,” Ye Qing sneered.
Jing Yunzhao massaged her temples, unsure of how to deal with Ye Qing.
Ye Qing might be young and ignorant, but pretending that everything was fine despite knowing that her family was suffering showed that Ye Qing was spoiled to the core.
Jing Yunzhao couldn’t be bothered to talk to Ye Qing any more and waved at one of the waiters passing by. “Please take us to the Hall of Stars.”
“Sure,” the waiter replied with a smile and led Jing Yunzhao and Xiao Haiqing to the private room that they had reserved.
Xiang Hai Restaurant had plenty of private rooms, and they were all finely designed. The private rooms on the second floor were mostly for couples, the ones on the third floor were mostly for families and formal gatherings, and those on the fourth and fifth floor were mostly for tycoons and politicians for diplomatic meetings, and the access to those floors was restricted to protect the confidentiality of the guests. Hotel rooms were from the sixth floor onwards. Generally, the higher the floor, the better the service and ambiance.
Xiao Haiqing was the one who reserved the Hall of Stars. Since there were only two of them, she had asked for a private room with the nicest environment. Since it was on the second floor, they could have the view of the main hall by just pulling the curtains.
Meanwhile, Ye Qing was extremely upset with Jing Yunzhao’s indifferent attitude, but she quickly forgot about it when she figured that Jing Yunzhao might not really be the one paying in the end.
“Let’s not wait for them and dig in,” Ye Qing scoffed.

Ye Qing instructed the waiter to serve their dishes and exquisite dishes were quickly brought to their tables. The foods at Xiang Hai Restaurant were known in Huaning County for their excellent taste. Ye Qing and her classmates were amazed by the food and quickly forgot about the encounter earlier as they enjoyed the dishes.
Meanwhile, Jing Yunzhao and Xiao Haiqing were led to the Hall of Stars. Jing Yunzhao felt herself admiring the place as soon as she stepped into the private room.
The Hall of Stars was a dim private room. It had glass flooring, and under the glass was a shiny material that resembled stars, making guests feel like they were walking on ‘stars’. The glittering of the shiny material was reflected through the glass across the whole interior of the private room, making it look magical. The Hall of Stars was a rather unique private room, and the charges for such a room were not cheap.
“Sorry, Yunzhao, I think they charge extra for this room,” Xiao Haiqing smiled at Jing Yunzhao apologetically and said.
She was going to let Jing Yunzhao pay when she made the reservation, but while Xiang Hai Restaurant had plenty of private rooms, since they had so many guests, it was possible to get a different room without prior reservation.
