[AN: Bonus Chapter 1/7]
Two days went by, and besides the occasional pig man that showed up to become dinner, Kana and Mary had a good rest. After having so much at the beach, Kana was truly satisfied. On the morning of the third day, Kana decided it was time to pack things up and begin searching for the entrance to the third level. "Mary, are you ready?"
"Mmm… The new bow and arrows should be stronger than the others. Hopefully, I will find better equipment as we go." Mary answered as she secured her new bow to her back.
"Alright, we will get going then." Kana said as she looked towards the dense jungle in front of her. During these past two days, Kana finally used her water mirror and explained her situation to Dean Williams. It was the first time she actually had the chance to since entering this world. Before she was captured, then she was on the run. After that, she entered the dungeon. With all these things going on, it was difficult for her to even attend classes or even contact anyone, for that matter.
When Dean Williams finally got to speak to Kana, he felt relieved that she was doing okay. He was also stunned to hear about the raiding system as well. He promised to look further into it and see if any such thing had ever appeared in their world. As for her classes, Kana would have to wait until she was able to return to make up all her lessons. One thing she did learn was that there seemed to be a time dilation between worlds. Meaning only one and a quarter days had passed on her own world where it had been over a week where she was now. Kana found this fact quite interesting and even joked, telling Dean Williams that he would need to call her elder sister when she returned.
Along with talking to Dean Williams, Kana also spoke to Kiliffia and asked her to tell Creige what she was up to. Sadly Creige was not around, so she could not speak to him. She missed her Handsome Husband. Although she felt slightly depressed, she also felt relieved. She could now fully focus on the tasks at hand instead of worrying about other things.
Kana and Mary stepped into the tree line and began their search for the entrance to the next floor. "Kana, there are a lot of bugs..." Mary frowned as she slapped the back of her neck. Kana also did the same.
"We will need to get used to it..." This was all Kana could say. She was suffering just as much as Mary was. But what surprised Kana was how easily these bugs were able to penetrate her skin which was as tough as dragon scales!
Hours passed, and the two had killed many monsters. Luckily the experience was a little higher than the first level but still not enough to make Kana happy. She would need to kill around ten thousand monsters to level up with the rate of experience she was getting. With Mary knowing quite a bit about survival when it came to keeping track of where they were going, the two pushed deeper and deeper into the jungle.
"How are we supposed to find a door in such a dense jungle like this!?" Mary yelled out in annoyance. There was nothing but trees and heavy jungle fauna all around them. It was impossible to see too far ahead with all the foliage blocking their view.
"I could burn the whole forest down..." Kana offered. To her, this seemed like the best option since it would make things quicker.
"Can you!?" Mary asked excitedly. To get rid of everything in theory way would make things much easier!
"Yeah, I can get rid of a good portion at a time. Step back. I will do it now." Kana waited for Mary and Aoi to back away before taking in a deep breath and saying: "[Dragon Brea...]."
"Stay away from me!" A female voice echoed throughout the jungle, interrupting Kana.
Kana and Mary looked at each other and nodded before dashing off into the direction they heard the yell come from. After about ten minutes, they spotted a human female running through the trees. Her clothes half ripped off, and wounds covering her exposed skin. Behind her were two pig men chasing after her, laughing as they did. It seemed the pig men were finding this chase to be quite amusing.
"Mary, Aoi, take out the pig men. I will go help the girl." Kana gave out her orders before running after the human girl. Normally Kana would not care so much about humans, but being female, she couldn't leave the girl alone knowing what was in store for her. Plus, it was the first time seeing a human on this world, so she hoped she could get a few answers out of her.
"Ahh! Don't touch me!" The girl yelled out she was already scared, so to have someone suddenly appear out of nowhere and snatch her up, she panicked even more.
"Relax, I will not harm you. I am here to help you." Kana said as she tossed the girl onto her shoulders and made her way back to Aoi and Mary.
"Is it done?" Kana asked.
"Mmm… I even stored some parts for later. Is this the girl?" Mary asked. She looked at the girl on Kana's shoulder curiously.
"Yeah." Kana gently placed the frightened girl onto the ground. Now that she got a good look at the girl, she realized the girl was no more than thirteen years of age at best. She had dirt smudged all over her face, and her tattered clothes were made out of monster hides. Her hair was also a mess with sticks and leaves entangled within it. Kana felt bad for the little girl, but she still needed answers. If she could get more information then this girl and maybe even the place where she came from would know where the entrance to the third level was. "Why are humans in a place like this?"
