Mary did not have a list of any kind. She walked in and pulled out a small device from her pocket. She walked over to the bag that was lying on a table with its items spread across it. She quickly packed it all up into the bag before taking the bag and shoving it into the air before her causing it to disappear. She then took a bag similar to Kana's from thin air and put it on the table. Only then did she put the device back into her pocket and walk out of the storage area. As she did, a red line swept over her body as if scanning for something. "All set. I might have to come back tomorrow to check again."
"That's fine." The old man replied, not even looking up from what he was doing.
Without another word, Mary hurried over to Kana's room. But when she got there, Mary's face fell when she saw Shentia standing there with a weapon in her hands guarding the door. "Mary, what are you doing here? It is not your shift."
Mary took a deep breath and sneered at Shentia. "Shift or not, it is none of your business. I am just here to give Miss Kana the results of checking on her items."
"You can just tell me I can relay the message." Shentia smirked. It was evident that the two did not get along at all.
"Shentia, just because you are a kiss ass and like to strip naked for the higher ups does not give you the right to keep others from accomplishing their tasks. What has spreading your legs gotten you so far since you have been deemed a lower class? Nothing but eating slightly better." Mary chuckled as she crossed her arms across her chest.
"You! Mary, you are nothing but a little bitch who will go nowhere in life. You will end up dying out there to some dreg, getting your limbs ripped off one by one while you are forced to watch. At least I will stay in the comfort of the base without needing to go out into the field. So what if I use the only asset I have to make my life here more comfortable?" It seemed Mary had stepped on Shentia's sore spot.
"Still doesn't change the fact that you are a slut. Anyway, get out of my way, or I will make you move. Remember, Shentia, not once have you ever beaten me. Not during training and not now." Mary began rolling up her sleeves and got into a fighting stance. Fighting like this was not prohibited, so it was fine if she beat Shentia up a little bit.
Shentia gritted her teeth and stepped aside. "Make it quick!"
"Heh… I figured as much. Still the same coward as before." Mary walked past Shentia and knocked on the door. "Kana, it's Mary. I am coming in."
Mary opened the door and walked in, closing it behind her. As she did, she also did something to the doorknob with an item she pulled out of her pocket as the door closed. Kana looked over at Mary, who walked in and smiled: "You can speak normally. I found all the devices."
Mary nodded and pulled out the object she used in the storage area and then pulled Kana's bag out of thin air and handed it to her. "Check it to make sure everything is there."
Kana was surprised to see what Mary did but only for a second. She quickly opened her bag and checked everything. When she saw the magic tool for the water mirror was there, and so was the orb she got from the black tower, she let out a sigh of relief. "Mmm… It seems everything is there. Thank you. But won't this cause you to get in trouble?"
"I have had enough of the treatment this place gives to people who have a minor defect in their bodies due to the circuit merging. I would rather risk escaping with you and finding a new home. Whether I live for a few days, months, or years, it will be better than living here fighting for a cause that only matters for those who are living peacefully. I am sick of the discrimination. So when you decide to make your move, will you allow me to go with you?" Mary asked. Her eyes pleading for Kana to say yes.
"I have no problems with that, but first, I need to know how strong your weapons are. Only then can I be sure that I can escape while protecting you." Kana was still wary of the weapons of this world only be taking the chance and being shot by one would she know just how much damage one can do to her.
"How do you wish to deal with it? Wait…. You don't mean..." Mary's eyes went wide. "Are you crazy!? What if you are seriously hurt? I mean I do not know where you come from but to be take a shot head on is suicide!"
"Don't worry… I am not as delicate as you think. Plus if I try to break out of here it is for sure that I will be shot at and I am not one hundred percent positive that I can dodge all the shots. So it is best to test before the fact." Kana said. Her eyes held an unwavering determination.
"Alright… I can go get one if you..."
"No need. Open the door, I will drag the girl from outside who has a gun in here. From the sound of it you two did not seem to be on good terms so you won't mind if I accidentally kill her right?" Kana asked with a smile. She did not care for the life of these people who had imprisoned her. She knew that in order to leave this place she would need to get her hands bloody.
Mary couldn't help but grin as she nodded her head. "Then we will do as you say. I have no attachment to this place or anyone here. I will follow your lead."
