A giggling voice echoed in the surroundings as Shen Yuxin slowly walked to the front of him, “How can I miss such an important event of my son?”
Shen Yuan helplessly shook his head and smiled, “It’s good you are here. I was feeling a little restless for some reason these past few days.”
Bing Rong looked at him slightly. he had already told her about it, but since she didn’t have any solution, they just moved forward. She also heaved a sigh of relief now that her Master was here.
Shen Yuxin looked up and down at Shen Yuan, making sure nothing was amiss before her eyes flashed with strange runes, “Hmm…nothing seems wrong with you.”
Shen Yuan raised an eyebrow as he looked at the runes in her eyes. “What are those strange runes, Mom?”
Any other cultivator wouldn’t have dared to ask such a question as it involved core secrets of a cultivator. After all, who will willingly share their secrets with others?
Shen Yuxin smiled slightly and began explaining, “I was just checking to see if someone had cursed you or used something similar on you. But from the looks of it I was overthinking it.”

“It shouldn’t be about that, but I feel something big will happen at the competition.” He shook his head and said.
Bing Rong and Shen Yuxin looked at each other with some doubt. “Let’s just go, Yuan’er. Even if something happens, Master is here to take care of the trouble. No one in the Eastern Region can match up to her.”
Shen Yuan heaved a sigh of relief. “That’s true. Let’s go and explore this area for a bit now that we are here.”
Just as the group was about to leave towards the market, the Grand Elder came flying down and bowed towards Shen Yuxin, “Senior Yuxin!”
Yuxin nodded her head and accepted the bow. “You reached this place on time. Looks like no accident happened along the way.”
The Grand Elder stood up straight and solemnly nodded, “There were a few assassins at Nascent Soul Realm, but I dealt with them. It’s just that I’m not sure if they were here for Shen Yuan or other disciples.”
Shen Yuxin narrowed her eyes slightly. “I see. Regardless, you did a good job safeguarding the disciples till here. I will take care of Shen Yuan while you take the rest of the disciples to their abodes.”
The Grand Elder nodded her head and left while looking at Shen Yuan for a second.
Shen Yuan frowned when she finally left. “Were the assassins targeting me?”
Shen Yuxin turned around and smiled lightly at him, “Hmm, I wonder, how many enemies have you made?”
He paused and thought for a second. “Hmm, I think only the Thunder Cloud Sect has the capability to hire Nascent Soul Stage assassins. But we can’t rule out the possibilities of other Divine Tier Sects targeting me for my potential. But of course, all this is based on the assumption that the assassins were targeting me.”
Shen Yuxin nodded approvingly. “That’s quite insightful of you. No matter how much we suppress the news of your early tribulation, the spies of other sects will still tell them. And then it’s not like you were unknown before that. Now that you are a core disciple as well, those Divine Sects seem to be getting restless.”
Bing Rong softly snorted. “Hmph! They have no idea of Master’s power, otherwise, even their ancestors wouldn’t dare to target our sect, much less target Yuan’er.”

Wan Ling also sweated a bit, wondering what would have happened if the Grand Elder had not been there to save them.

Bing Rong nodded her head and patiently explained, “Of course, there are not a lot of Divine Tier Sects. There is no shortage of Imperial Level sects or clans in the Aurora Plains. So naturally, a lot of Elders are accompanying the juniors of their sects or clans.”
Shen Yuxin smiled lightly, “Why don’t you look around the shops and see if something catches your eye? You both can look around, and I will buy it for you.”
Wan Ling’s eyes flashed with excitement. Shen Yuan had previously told her how rich his mother was, so she was not worried that she would empty her pocket. In fact, she could empty out all the shops here and still might not even use 1% of her mother’s wealth.
