Kent took the next book, titled [Primordial Alchemy Records,] and opened it as he had with the cultivation technique. However, unlike the cultivation technique, which contained complex diagrams, this one was filled with text.
The title reads:
“The Art of Alchemy, by Pill Celestial Kevin Sage,” Kent read aloud from the first page. He quickly flipped to the second page, where more lines of text appeared.
“This is the manual left behind by the first and only Pill Celestial to ever walk the face of the universe. Inside contains the complete knowledge from his journey from Pill Novice to Pill Celestial. Whoever comes into possession of this manual, if they are worthy, will become an existence capable of revolutionizing the world of alchemy once more.
Good luck, and remember this: a pill is not a pill if it is not 100% pure.”
“That’s actually sweet. I wonder who this great figure was like,” Kent said, gently tapping the book against his forehead. As with the cultivation manual, it disintegrated and entered his forehead.
“What the hell is…” Kent hadn’t even finished his sentence before he fell backward and passed out.
A few minutes after he passed out, a flame tattoo appeared on his forehead for a few seconds, then vanished. A while later, a thunderbolt tattoo also appeared and disappeared after a few seconds.
He lay there for many hours until, finally, after a full day, he woke up, feeling his head throbbing from the ordeal that had overwhelmed him.
The first thing he noticed, however, was the messages that appeared before his eyes from the Tower.
[Congratulations on learning the Primordial Alchemy Records. Your Alchemy Class has been unlocked. You can now practice alchemy.]
[You have learned the entirety of the Primordial Alchemy Records; however, due to your insignificant level in alchemy, you only have access to the first record – The Pill Novice Primordial Alchemy Records.]
[It contains knowledge on the basics of how to concoct pills and some pill recipes you can try your hand at. Also, you have access to some of the best pill-refining and Flame control techniques in the Primordial Alchemy Records.]
[ You have received a unique Pill Flame Nine Colored Chaos Flame. Now, its strength is that of an Earth-Grade Pill Flame and only the Blue Void Flame has been unlocked. As you unlock more records, your pill flame will also increase in grades]
[To qualify for the next record, you must first succeed in concocting 120 different Tier 0 Pills with 100% purity.]
“That’s a lot to take in, but at least I have something to work with now,” Kent said after a while, making sure his headache had subsided.
“The question now is, where the hell am I going to get ingredients from?” Kent sighed. He was new to this world, and although he would love to brag, the master he should be proud of was, unfortunately, quite broke.
He knew this because he currently had his master’s memories.
“Oh, Master isn’t stingy for nothing. He actually has some ingredients in his spatial ring,” Kent muttered, reaching for his left hand and sliding the ring off his finger.
Since he had his master’s memories, he knew how to access them.
“Great! With this, I have a chance at concocting a Tier 0 Qi Gathering Pill,” Kent said, sounding like an experienced alchemist. This surprised him slightly, so he asked the Tower.
“Tower, why do I sound like I’m some kind of alchemy genius?”
[Master has learned the Primordial Alchemy Records and currently has access to the first record. This means you now know all the basics of alchemy contained within the records. The only thing left is practice.]
“I see,” Kent smiled, then walked over to the cauldron and picked up the Tier 1 pill with 50% purity from inside.
“A sex-enhancement pill, huh? Looks like Master was really preparing for this merchant’s unknown daughter. I guess it’s up to me now, but this pill is just too pitiful.” Kent crushed the pill, turning it into powder.
He gazed at the lifeless, smiling face of James Hogan and sighed. “I’ll bury you later, Master. For now, watch how your unknown disciple concocts pills.”
Kent retrieved the first batch of ingredients, and with a flick of his hand, a blue flame appeared.
“Tower, can you tell me more about this Unique Flame? The records seem to lack that knowledge.” Klaus asked. He now has Nine different flames but he only has access to one, the Blue Void flame.
If he unlocks more records, the rest will also be unlocked.
[Certainly, Master,] the Tower responded.
[A Unique Flame is a rare, mystical fire. It is found only in special places across the universe. These flames have extraordinary qualities and are difficult to control. Each Unique Flame has its own attributes and strengths. Some can heal, while others can burn through anything, even metal or stone.]
Kent’s eyes widened. “So, this flame is powerful?”
[Yes, Master. This is the Blue Void Flame. It’s a flame known for its purity and control. Alchemists treasure it because it can refine pills with greater precision. It burns steadily, helping you to achieve high purity in your concoctions.]
Kent held out his hand, watching the blue flame flicker and dance. “So, this flame will help me refine pills better?”
[Correct. The Blue Void Flame will give you an edge. With it, you can refine pills faster and with better quality. It’s one of the best flames for an alchemist of your level.]
Kent nodded, feeling a surge of confidence.
“Perfect. Then let’s start with the Qi Gathering Pill.” He gathered the ingredients and focused on the flame, watching it dance in his palm. It felt nostalgic in some way.
‘This feeling…’ Kent thought, but he didn’t dwell on it. Instead, he quickly followed the knowledge he had acquired from the Primordial Alchemy Records and began heating the cauldron.
“This feels too natural like I was born to control the flame,” Kent said, a small smile tugging at his lips. A while later, he dimmed the cauldron was hot enough so he tossed in the first ingredient.
“So this is the feeling. Even with such a thick body, I can see inside the cauldron” Kent muttered as he controlled the pill flame to begin burning and extracting the medicinal essence from the ingredient.
“Easy enough” A few minutes later he tossed in the second one.
Then before long, the third one entered. Kent could tell the more ingredients he added, the more difficult it began to feel, but also the more he understood some things.
Kent knew he had all the knowledge he needed; it was just a matter of making sure his muscles could keep up with what his mind understood.
Five minutes later, the last of the 12 ingredients were burned, and their essences were fully extracted. Using a condensing technique, he began to form the pill.
“Now is when I burn impurities,” Kent said as he continued shaping the pill, focusing on removing any impurities as he went.
“I’m a natural,” he praised himself with a grin.
[Master is indeed an Alchemy Genius,] the Tower responded, making Kent’s smile widen.
“I knew I was going to like you, Tower. You recognize talent,” Kent bragged. Just then, a soft *poof* sounded from the cauldron, followed by a wisp of dark smoke.
He opened the cauldron and saw a dark, misshapen pill inside. Quickly, he picked it out to examine it.
The pill was rough and uneven, with a dull color. Its energy felt weak, almost lifeless. He sighed, realizing the truth.
“It’s terrible,” he muttered, shaking his head. “Barely any power in it.”
The Tower’s message appeared before him.
[You have successfully concocted a Qi Gathering Pill. Grade: Tier 0, Quality: Poor. Purity: 12%.]
Kent laughed.
