“This…” Avis was momentarily stunned, then helplessly said, “Master, these creatures all look alike. I can’t tell them apart.”
“Then draw them all out and kill them all,” John coldly responded.
He understood that magical beasts have their own territories, especially powerful magical beast groups, who wouldn’t easily leave. The one who took the Black Magic Crystal must still be here.
“Alright.” Avis nodded, diving down again. He unleashed blasts of dragon fire, stirring the swamp and rousing even more Two-headed Black Dragons.
Boom! Boom!
The once calm swamp waters were now churning.
More and more Two-headed Black Dragons surged out, chasing after Avis.
John stood calmly in midair, activating Sword Mastery and manipulating Immortal Sword to slaughter the oncoming Two-headed Black Dragons. His enhanced strength made dealing with them effortless.
Roar! Roar!
The sounds of shrieks echoed as one after another, the Two-headed Black Dragons fell into the swamp. Blood poured out, instantly staining the waters red.
John remained suspended in the air, his sword aura vibrating around him, sword beams flashing as if he were a war god, blocking all the Two-headed Black Dragons.
“Why is this human so terrifying?” Xayah swallowed nervously, her heart filled with fear.
“Could he also be here for the Forest City King’s Tournament?” she murmured to herself, her gaze fixed on John. As her thoughts shifted, she considered that if she could make use of this human, maybe she could secure a spot for Dragon Ascending City…
Boom!
The swamp rumbled as the last Two-headed Black Dragon was torn apart by a myriad of sword beams.
John let out a breath of relief, landing back on the deck as the earthen wall dissolved. He spoke, “Clean up the battlefield. Avis, pull out the bodies of these Two-headed Black Dragons.”
“Got it!” Avis took a deep breath and dove into the murky swamp.
Like the poisonous miasma, the swamp waters were toxic, but they posed no threat to them.
“I… I’ll help too,” Xayah quickly offered, her expression showing eagerness.
“Alright.” Sini smiled and nodded in agreement, following her closely.
Xayah furrowed her brow. She believed she was hiding her intentions well, but this woman seemed to have noticed something.
She kept a harmless smile on her face as she cut open the chest of a Two-headed Black Dragon and extracted its magic core.
She wasn’t interested in these magic cores; what she wanted was the Black Magic Crystal.
Avis was diving in the swamp, dragging the lifeless bodies of the Two-headed Black Dragons to the surface.
Some of the Two-headed Black Dragons, barely surviving, were severely injured and had lost almost all of their combat abilities. They were swiftly finished off by Avis.
The women on the deck were busy collecting the magic cores of the Two-headed Black Dragons.
“Big Brother, is this the thing?” At that moment, Spoorate raised a Spirit Stone in his hand, one that emitted a deep, dark mist. He asked curiously.
“The group couldn’t help but look over.
It was indeed the Black Magic Crystal!
Xayah’s expression subtly shifted, her eyes gleaming with greed.
“Xayah, do you recognize this?” Suddenly, Sini’s voice came from the side.
Xayah quickly regained her composure, hurriedly masking her greedy gaze. She forced a smile, continuing to appear harmless, and said, “I’ve only heard of it before, but I don’t know what it does.”
“Is that so?” Sini glanced at her meaningfully but said no more.
John also noticed Xayah’s strange behavior but didn’t pay it much attention. After all, they were just giving her a lift and wouldn’t have much interaction beyond that.
He took the Black Magic Crystal from Spoorate and examined it with curiosity.

Dark Law?
John was puzzled. Could it be that the power of the Heaven Law had elemental attributes? He had never heard of such a thing before.
He looked at the Black Magic Crystal in his hand helplessly. This crystal required conversion into Body of Dark Elements to be absorbed and refined. His comprehension of The Laws of Dark Elements had reached 100%, but it had not yet been converted into Body of Dark Elements.
It seemed that he would need to find a treasure that could facilitate this conversion in the
future.
His thoughts drifted to the Elemental Spirit Stones and the Heart of Elements dropped by the Mountain Ghost. This world surely had plenty of such things.
A sudden thought occurred to him, and he stored the Black Magic Crystal into his World-in- Hand.
“World-in-Hand!” Xayah gasped, her eyes fixed on John.
This human was actually an Overseer! No wonder his strength was so terrifying.
“Hmm? You can sense my World-in-Hand?” John, having heard her exclaim, asked curiously.
Xayah nodded, explaining, “My talent is a bit unique. I’m very sensitive to spatial techniques, especially World-in-Hand.”
“I see.” John nodded, not particularly concerned.
However, Sini and Tracy were watching her carefully, their expressions wary.
Xayah continued, “Master, are you also headed to Dragon Ascending City to participate in the King Selection?”
“King Selection? What’s that?” John asked, confused.
He knew of Dragon Ascending City, which wasn’t far from the Dead Swamp. To get to Forest City, they would need to pass through Dragon Ascending City.
Dragon Ascending City was a high-level city, and it was rumored that its city lord was an eight-star Awakened One, stronger even than the ruler of Golden Tiger City.
John’s group had the same goal – to destroy Dragon Ascending City, or at the very least, to release the Heaven Prison criminals held there.
“Master doesn’t know?” Xayah furrowed her brow, her curiosity growing.
She then explained, “The King Selection is held once every ten years by each major Realm of the King. Each King’s domain selects three individuals to become the new Lords of Advanced Cities. However, this year, the Forest City region will select four individuals. It’s said that a high-level city, Golden Tiger City, was destroyed, and they need to quickly make up for the
loss.”
Selecting Lords of Advanced Cities?
John’s interest was piqued, but then he thought of something else. He fixed his gaze on Xayah and asked in a cold tone, “How do you know that Golden Tiger City was destroyed?”
This was a top-secret matter, and it was something he had done himself. It couldn’t have spread so quickly, and for this woman to know about it meant her background was far from
ordinary.
“Uh…” Xayah’s expression shifted with a hint of panic. She quickly explained, “I heard it from
the swamp pirates.”
“Really?” John stared at her, clearly not believing her. These pirates were weak and had been stuck in the Dead Swamp for ages; there was no way they could have learned about the destruction of Golden Tiger City so quickly.
Xayah hastily changed the topic, “Master, as an Overseer, you have a special advantage. If you
enter the King Selection, you’re sure to rank highly.”
“We’ll see when the time comes.” John frowned. He felt that this woman was trying to
manipulate him into participating in the King Selection for some reason, and that there was definitely some kind of scheme behind it.
However, the King Selection would take place in Forest City, and that might actually be a
good opportunity to sneak into Forest City.
“Let’s move.” He decided not to dwell on the matter and ordered them to continue forward.
Buzz… buzz…
Suddenly, the sound of buzzing filled the air. In the distance, a massive dark cloud seemed to
approach rapidly, engulfing everything.
“Not good, Ender Insect Swarm!” Xayah gasped, her face turning pale.
“Ender Insect Swarm? What’s that?” Sini asked, looking at her with confusion. Xayah’s expression turned to one of sheer terror. She quickly explained, “The Ender Worms are a five-star magical beast from the Dead Swamp, but they always move in swarms. Even a nine-star Awakened One would have little chance of survival against an Ender Insect Swarm. We need to get out of here quickly!”
She hadn’t expected to be so unlucky. After entering the Dead Swamp to seek adventure, she had first been targeted by the swamp pirates. Now, just when she thought she was finally safe,
she ran into an Ender Insect Swarm.
If those terrifying creatures surrounded them, there would be no hope of survival. “Five-star magical beasts, you say?” John looked up at the sky, where an endless swarm of Ender Insects was approaching, and his eyes lit up.
His strength had only recovered to about 50%, and he desperately needed to kill a large number of four-star and above magical beasts to restore his power.
This Ender Worm swarm probably numbered in the hundreds of thousands-definitely a good
opportunity.
“Big brother, should we run?” Spoorate asked, her voice eager. She nimbly climbed up to the
mast and looked at the dark, buzzing swarm in the distance. Rather than being afraid, she
looked excited.
“No need, we can’t escape anyway,” John said, his voice calm but firm. With a thought, the Immortal Sword flew out again, its sword aura humming, exuding a powerful battle intent. Sini stepped forward as well. A cloud of gray mist rose around her, and she activated the
Power of the Nine Nether.
“Crazy! You’re all a bunch of lunatics!” Xayah’s expression changed slightly, and she instinctively took a step back, trying to retreat into the ship’s cabin.
The others didn’t pay her any mind. They stood their ground, eyes locked on the overwhelming swarm of Ender Worms, not a trace of fear on their faces. Even Debbie and Spoorate seemed eager to jump into the fray.
“Tracy, let me help you copy two of your talents,” John said, turning toward Tracy, who was
holding her staff.
He thought about the plunder talent. Since he couldn’t help Tracy recover her Star Power, perhaps Plunder would work.
He pulled out two Talent Copy Stones and used them to copy the Plunder and Wrath of the
Gods talents onto Tracy.
Each talent could be copied up to five times with the stones, and he had already used them on his three main avatars and Sini. This was his final chance to copy. “Thanks, old man!” Tracy examined the two newly acquired talents with great excitement.
Her eyes gleamed with battle intent, even more intense than when Sini first gained these
abilities.
Buzz…
At that moment, the deafening buzzing filled the air. The Ender Worm swarm was now almost upon them.
John took a good look at the Ender Worms. They resembled mantises, only much larger, about the size of a calf. Their black bodies glistened with a dark, poisonous sheen, and their two
pairs of claws emitted a cold, menacing gleam. It was clear that these creatures were
venomous.
“The group wasn’t afraid at all. In fact, they were visibly excited.
“All of you are insane!” Xayah gritted her teeth in anger. She shrank back, trying to hide
behind the others. She quickly made up her mind that if these lunatics couldn’t fend off the Ender Worms, she would slip into the swamp to escape-perhaps that would be her only chance to survive this.
