Ye Chen restrained his Astral Body as much as he could so that Tantai Ling and that mystical beast would not notice him. Ultimately, he could not repress his curiosity and looked outside. The sky above the town was blanketed in dark clouds. A several-hundred-meters-long Serpent was winding and twisting among the clouds, then it appeared in Ye Chen’s field of vision. The Serpent had three pairs of transparent wings on its back, which were thin as ice. It was azure all over for its body was covered in blue scales. Moreover, a massive pair of claws protruded in the middle of its body.
After the Winged Serpent hovered in the air for a moment, it plunged as quickly as lightning. The stable was smashed to pieces with a loud crash. The Serpent swallowed the Nightwind in one gulp.
“It’s a Bloodthirsty Mosquito!”
“Die, mystical beast!” Zhou Yan, Lin Tao, and Wang Yue brandished their swords as they rushed at the mystical beast.
The sky was pitch-black that Zhou Yan and the other two had mistaken the Winged Serpent for a Tenth Level mystical beast, the Bloodthirsty Mosquito. Thus, they did not think too much about it.
“Miss Tantai, hurry back. We can handle things from here,” Zhou Yan yelled. Now was the best chance to win the beauty’s favorable opinion.
In terms of appearance, the Winged Serpent looked a little like a Bloodthirsty Mosquito but its size was much bigger than a Bloodthirsty Mosquito. Moreover, its strength was not something a Tenth Level Bloodthirsty Mosquito could compare to!
Zhou Yan and the rest waved their swords and slashed at the Winged Serpent. There were a few sharp clanks. It was as if the Gold Arcanite Swords they held were striking a steel plate. They might as well forget about the blood splattering scene they had imagined – they did not even leave half a scar on the mystical beast.
Nonetheless, the Winged Serpent was provoked by Zhou Yan and the rest. It tossed its colossal head, and it was like a hill came crashing down.

“This isn’t a Bloodthirsty Mosquito!” Zhou Yan and the rest were terrified. When they saw the deep, shining eyes in the dark, their legs started to tremble in fright.
The Winged Serpent flapped its wings and rose, its body glowing with a blue luster. Only then did Zhou Yan and his group see the enormous body of the Winged Serpent. It was over three hundred meters long, like a gigantic beast from the ancient times. This was not a Tenth Level mystical beast for it was Adept Rank at least. In the past, they had followed the elders of the Taiyi Sword Sect to look at a few Adept Rank mystical beasts. However, compared to this Winged Serpent, it seemed like there was no basis for comparison!
The Winged Serpent exuded its intense energy, practically enveloping the entire town in a fearsome atmosphere.

Zhou Yan and the rest made a snap decision to flee swiftly. They did not even dare to look back. At this point, why would they care about Tantai Ling – their small lives were more important!
Tantai Ling stood in the middle of the street, staring serenely at that gigantic Winged Serpent.

“A Sea Demon?” The Winged Serpent stared unwaveringly at Tantai Ling. Its voice was old and hoarse, and its eyes glint with faint, cold light.
“That’s right.” Tantai Ling gave a gentle smile. With a wave of her right hand, a trident appeared near her hand. It was pointed at the Winged Serpent and shone with a dazzling blue light. Ye Chen did not know what rank this spirit artifact was.
Tantai Ling was a Sea Demon? They were far away from the sea. Ye Chen wondered why Tantai Ling would come here. He surveyed the trident with his Astral Body and the Flying Dagger in his mind vibrated slightly. Each time the Flying Dagger encountered a high-ranking spirit artifact, it would produce a response. Ye Chen did not know what kind of wondrous item this trident was. Based on the Flying Dagger’s reaction, the rank of the trident might just be slightly lower than the Sunken Jade Tower!
The Winged Serpent seemed to detect that there was someone else in the inn and grunted icily. “A Sea Demon dared to come inland. You must have a death wish. No matter how many people you’ve brought with you, you’ll die here today!”
When Ye Chen’s Astral Body heard these words, his heart felt a jolt of shock. He began contemplating his countermeasure. If Tantai Ling showed any sign of losing in her battle against the Winged Serpent, he would flee before anything else. This Winged Serpent was a mystical beast of unknown rank. It was not something he could contend against for now.
However, Tantai Ling gave an indifferent smile. “A few days ago, at sea, I sensed your presence, to think that an ancient, unusual Winged Serpent would show up here. How rare. At first, I thought that I’ve found my match but you’re still too young. If you have ten more years to improve your strength, who knows, you could help me achieve a breakthrough. It’s just too bad that I can’t wait that long.”
Ye Chen had a flash of realization. Tantai Ling had come all the way here to look for an opponent.
The trident revolved in the sky and for an instant, it flashed with a transcendental light that spanned ten thousand feet.
“I wonder if you can deal with these moves of mine.” Tantai Ling’s voice had no hint of emotion. Under the glow of the trident, her clothes fluttered, and she looked like a goddess from heaven.
The Winged Serpent seemed fearful of the trident and shrank back a few steps. Its bell-like eyes glared at Tantai Ling as it bellowed furiously, “What big talk! Now I’ll gobble you up!” The Winged Serpent opened its mouth and spat out a thick, black fog. The poisonous black fog turned into countless little snakes that encircled Tantai Ling from all directions.
The sky was a sweep of black and the Winged Serpent’s enormous body threaded in and out of the black fog.
Ye Chen hid in the inn. His Astral Body had sensed the fearsome power of the Winged Serpent and could not help but felt stunned. This Winged Serpent’s energy was somewhat distinct from the Psyches of mystical beasts. Even so, the degree of its fearsomeness was no less than the Daemon King Ye Chen had met at the Sunken Jade Tower!
D*mn it, why did he bump into two such formidable forces in this place?
Should he leave? Ye Chen made preparations to flee. Conversely, Little Tanuki’s eyes were shining in the dark as if she was not that afraid of the Winged Serpent.
Tantai Ling observed the countless tiny snakes swarming from all directions but showed no trace of alarm. With a cold snort, she swiftly transformed.
Ye Chen’s Astral Body did not move an inch as he looked at Tantai Ling curiously. He wanted to see what sort of Sea Demon Tantai Ling was.
As Ye Chen watched, Tantai Ling’s slender legs transformed rapidly into a fishtail that glimmered with rainbow hues. Moreover, her upper body did not change at all. Her graceful body was wrapped in a white silk swathe and her white, sparkling skin was revealed here and there. One could vaguely make out the round curves of her chest. Coupled with Tantai Ling’s matchlessly alluring face, one would feel the advent of a nosebleed.
The swathe which was around five or six meters long swayed in the wind, framing Tantai Ling as a goddess from above.
Tantai Ling was a Mermaid? Ye Chen gasped in shock. He never thought that Tantai Ling’s original form was this enticing and exquisite. It was enough to make the overwhelming majority of men in this world go insane.
