Kakashi Hatake looked at the two Jonin, walked forward, handed them a letter, and said,
"The mission Hokage-sama gave us is to escort the captive and transport the bodies back to Konoha."
Renjiro and Akimichi Seiichi nodded. Renjiro took out a scroll, handed it to Kakashi, and said,
"The bodies of the nine deceased are in this scroll."
Kakashi took the scroll and carefully stored it. Seiichi stood up and said,
"Follow me, I'll take you to see the captive."
Kakashi and his group followed Seiichi and Renjiro. They entered a small room.
There was a chair in the center of the room. A woman was sitting in it.
Her arms were tied to the armrests of the chair. Her legs were missing. Her mouth was stuffed with a gag, and her head was bowed.
She was being monitored by two Chunin. One of them was a Medical Ninja.
Renjiro said,
"We've already conducted some investigations on her. Her name is Sakai Nagaka, a Jonin of the Sakai clan, and she can use Boil Release."
Seiichi added,
"We injected her with anesthetic, but her body has a strong resistance to it. She'll wake up in two hours and will need another injection."
Kakashi nodded and said,
"That's fine. Can you wake her up?"
The Medical Ninja walked forward and began to wake her up.
He looked at a team member and said,
"Itachi, put her to sleep."
After a while, Sakai Nagaka woke up.
She looked at Renjiro and the ANBU Ninja. A look of terror appeared in her eyes. The Anbu member with the codename Itachi walked up to her and looked into her eyes.
Sakai Nagaka looked at the Anbu in front of her, his eyes turning red. Itachi cast a genjutsu on her, putting her into a deep sleep.
After Itachi finished, he took a step back and said,
"Alright, she won't wake up for a day."
Kakashi nodded. He looked at Renjiro and said,
"We will take her away. Thank you for completing the mission. Hokage-sama has further orders; her capture should not be discussed."
"Notify everyone who knows about her capture and tell them not to talk about it to anyone. If they have already told others, or if anyone else knows about her arrest, talk to them as well and issue a gag order. Hokage-sama said this is very important."
Seiichi replied,
"My people haven't had contact with others. However, everyone at the outpost probably knows about her. I will talk to them and issue a gag order on this matter."
Kakashi nodded and said,
"Thank you."
One of Kakashi's Anbu subordinates untied Sakai Nagaka and took her away. After Kakashi and his group bid farewell, they headed to Konoha.
Feng Zheng and his teammates were unaware of the tragic fate that awaited the Jonin they had captured. They slept soundly while Sakai Nagaka was being taken to Konoha.
They woke up early the next morning and met with Renjiro. Seiichi also woke up early to see them off. He said,
"Goodbye, Renjiro. Remember to stop by when you return to Konoha."
Renjiro nodded and said,
"Of course. We'll need a good night's sleep here then."
Seiichi looked at the children and smiled,
"Take care, and come back safely."
Mieko said,
"Don't worry, we'll finish the mission quickly."
Feng Zheng nodded and added,
"Let's have that barbecue when we get back!"
Seiichi thought, sweating,
"Yesterday, these three ate half of my share!"
He smiled and said,
"I'll definitely hunt some beasts for you all."
After saying their goodbyes, they headed to the Land of Hot Water.
While the Renjiro Squad was heading to the Land of Hot Water, Kakashi and his group returned to Konoha.
They imprisoned Sakai Nagaka in the Torture and Interrogation Department. Ibiki was already waiting for them in the prison.
Due to the importance of the situation, Hiruzen Sarutobi appeared in person.
Seeing Hiruzen, the four Anbu respectfully bowed and said,
"Hokage-sama."
Hiruzen nodded and looked at Sakai Nagaka. He looked at Itachi and said,
"Wake her from the genjutsu, then apply a new genjutsu. I want to interrogate her."
At this moment, another person walked into the prison. He was an old man. His right arm hung limply, hidden beneath a black robe. His right eye was bandaged.
Hiruzen looked at him and asked,
"Danzo, why are you here?"
Danzo looked at Sakai Nagaka and said,
"I heard a captive was taken from the Hidden Mist. You continue the interrogation; I'll discuss it with you later."
Hiruzen nodded and looked at Itachi. Itachi stepped forward and dispelled the genjutsu. Sakai Nagaka woke up, lifted her head, and looked around.
However, Itachi immediately cast another genjutsu on her. Once she was under the genjutsu, Itachi removed the gag from her mouth.
He looked at Hiruzen and said,
"Hokage-sama, you can ask her questions now."
Hiruzen looked at Ibiki and said,
"Ask her why she entered the Land of Fire."
Ibiki nodded and asked,
"Why did your squad enter the Land of Fire?"
Sakai Nagaka replied,
"Our squad was on a mission in the Land of Water. Unfortunately, we were discovered by a Mizukage Faction squad. They pursued us relentlessly, and we engaged in several battles, sustaining injuries. The chase led us near the Land of Fire, and we entered it hoping to find a good hiding place until they left. I didn't expect them to pursue us into the Land of Fire."
Ibiki recorded her words. He asked,
"What was your mission?"
Sakai Nagaka replied,
"We received intelligence that the Hozuki clan possessed documents and maps showing the deployment locations of all Mizukage Faction Ninja. Since the Hozuki clan head was in battle, we were tasked with stealing these documents."
This mission greatly surprised everyone in the room. Danzo immediately wanted to get his hands on these documents.
Ibiki asked,
"Did you complete the mission?"
Sakai Nagaka replied,
"Yes, we successfully stole the documents."
Ibiki asked,
"Where are those documents?"
Sakai Nagaka replied,
"Because we were being pursued, we hid them in a safe place in the Land of Water."
Ibiki asked,
"Will someone retrieve those documents?"
Sakai Nagaka replied,
"There's a Ninja who regularly checks that location. By now, the documents should have been retrieved and delivered to the head of the Sakai clan."
Ibiki asked her where this safe place was and wrote it down.
Ibiki continued to ask,
"Did you see the locations of the Mizukage Faction forces?"
Sakai Nagaka replied,
"No."
After asking, he looked at Hiruzen. Hiruzen said,
"Ask her about the Sakai clan and other Bloodline Limit families, as well as the current conflict. Also, ask her about her current hiding place and the locations of the various families."
Danzo added,
"Also ask her if she has hidden any family members in a safe place."
Ibiki nodded and began to ask questions. They ended up interrogating Sakai Nagaka for over three hours.
Konoha obtained the locations of the Bloodline Limit families, some of their secret hiding places, their Ninja numbers, the losses they suffered, the damage they inflicted on the Mizukage Faction, the skills and weaknesses of their strongest warriors, and some other scattered information.
Although the information she provided was not complete, she ultimately provided a lot of valuable information to Konoha.
The rebel faction of the Hidden Mist Village would never have imagined that their mission to steal intelligence from the Mizukage Faction would result in their own secrets being exposed to Konoha!
