“We’re so lucky to have these blessings,” the group said with faces full of astonishment.
“A 20% boost in all attributes, so strong, pity it only lasts twenty hours.” Dumbstruck mutters in frustration, “What’s the use, we’ll head out after we pass the first stage.”
Li Yao shook his head, “The duration is according to heaven time, it doesn’t count or take effect when we’re outside.”
“I see, so what’s the function of this shrine with so many illusory angels?” Unparalleled Demon Princess asked.
“These shrines used to be the hubs through which heaven controlled this place. Non-demonic blood can rejuvenate these shrines, which have been tainted by demons.” Li Yao explained.
“What about the portal, why don’t we see it now. We didn’t take the wrong path, did we?” Guardian Angel muttered.
Li Yao shook his head again, “No, there are many portals here. They seem fixed, but due to certain rules they’re actually elusive. I’m not certain, but to find these portals, we’re supposed to kill enough demons to reach a certain threshold to trigger the portal.”
“How cryptic, haven’t you figured the actual rules?” Sister Li frowned.
“As I mentioned, I can only decide how to fight, I’m not clear about the details here.” Li Yao could only give an ambiguous response.
People could accept that he didn’t know the other stuff, but if he appeared overly insightful about such uncertain elements that would seem suspicious.
Next, the group set off again, killing several waves of monsters, becoming impatient despite Li Yao’s reassurances.
Given Starfire’s state, other groups would be worse.
Time passed, four hours having already elapsed. All teams became increasingly restless and anxious.
There was a constant sense of oppression in this place, with the chaotic void all around.
With the fractured paths and lands, after wandering for a while, players lost track of their whereabouts.
There were dead ends everywhere, even more terrifying than a labyrinth.
When players met, they battled frenziedly. Now, only over ten million teams remained. This was less than one-third of the original total, showing the cruelty of this place.
What’s worse, they couldn’t log off now, logging off was equivalent to being eliminated.
All channels were blocked, with a chilling silence. They had no idea whether other teams had found the portals, or how many of them had.
The truth was, even Starfire hadn’t found any portals up to this point.
But the audience knew clearly that most of the top tier teams had progressed beyond 80%, while Li Yao’s team was at over 90%. They were about to complete the quest.
The audience was thrilled, they got to see the strongest strategies of many teams in this challenging situation.
Seeing so many top-tier players floundering, they were impressed.
Starfire had already run into several teams, who crushed them ruthily. Starfire was rather unfortunate.
They encountered quite a number of player teams, but only one shrine and no significant bosses, other than a demon crystal.
Li Yao wondered if his bad luck was due to screwing over Prosperous Era and destroying the Harpy monster’s lair. Not only did they take the Harpy’s kids, they even took a treasure box, thereby tarnishing their integrity.
Li Yao placed the treasure box in his home, planning to open it after level 30.
But, today’s luck was really poor. Normally a team would encounter three to four shrines and five to six cursed treasure boxes. But currently, they had only found one shrine.
If their luck was normal, Li Yao believed they could have made enough progress a long time before.
Fortunately, Li Yao knew, if a team passed, there would definitely be a notification. Nobody had found a portal, so he was slightly relieved. Luck was a hard thing to gauge.
“Look, what’s that red thing releasing bloody vapor over there, a large treasure box?” Dumbstruck pointed at a piece of land to their lower right.

“Indeed, it’s a cursed treasure box.” Li Yao shared the information on the cursed treasure box with everyone, “Prepare yourselves for touching the box, we can’t tell what kind of monster may appear.”
Everyone immediately lined up against a rock, with the skeletons and undead pets facing outwards.
As the box was disturbed, a bloody light soared into the sky.
About ten 3-star superior demons popped out, launching an attack against Li Yao’s group.

The second wave of monsters appeared, numbering over a hundred.

Starfire’s faces turned grave. Li Yao said, “Ignore them, just kill these monsters.”
But Li Yao slowly moved towards the edge of the landmass, in the direction of the players on the other side.
“Is a fight about to break out in Starfire’s team?” Diamond Tycoon immediately noticed.
The live feed quickly switched scenes.
“Starfire is indeed unlucky. They only encountered one shrine on the way, and when they finally found a treasure box, another team tried to ambush them.” Gent seemed rather schadenfreude.
Harry retorted, “That’s not necessarily accurate. Despite their bad luck, Starfire is still over 10% ahead of the second-ranked team. That’s a demonstration of their prowess. If they had the luck of the second-ranked team, they could probably have gotten over 100%.”
“Luck’s also part of the strength. This team’s even stronger than the Scorpion No 2 team. Starfire is done for.” Diamond Tycoon said nonchalantly.
