His actions were purely for amusement, wanting to give Jesus some benefits for the great sacrifice he made.
Additionally, it was a coincidence that he met Jesus. Thinking of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” he merely wanted to design an interesting script.
He was also aware of the schemes Poseidon and the others were plotting, but everyone was non-interfering, letting each play their own game.
