Xin Yuehu’s cheers and applause came from the TV.
The Magic Mice cautiously peeked out from under the refrigerator, glanced at the Cat Girl and Rabbit Girl leisurely eating chocolate cookies on the sofa, and finally breathed a sigh of relief, as if reborn.
“Whew…”
“I’m exhausted…”
Squirrel Mai Sui collapsed under the refrigerator, gasping for breath, gently rubbing her head which had several large bumps.
“Hiss… it hurts…” Mai Sui whispered.
“But no matter what, we’ve finally reached the bottom of the refrigerator!” Field Mouse Hyacinth forced a smile and said to her companions.
Squirrel Mai Sui’s face showed no trace of a smile; her eyes even held a hint of terror when she looked towards the sofa.
If it weren't for the fact that no one could die in this Mindscape World, she would have probably been hammered into a mouse pancake by Cheshire Rabbit’s terrifying hammer.
What was with playing Whack-a-Mole?!
After a brief moment to calm their tense nerves, the Magic Mice all looked up at the refrigerator, which was enormous to them.
This was the second challenge of the Magic Mice’s Great Adventure—using the wall-penetrating property of the Earth-escape Chocolate to enter the refrigerator’s interior, then climbing up along the internal shelves to the top of the refrigerator.
This way, they could avoid the smooth, unscalable outer surface of the refrigerator and gain a stable platform to stand on.
“Looking at it this way, it really does seem like a great adventure, like climbing a snow mountain.”
Cangshu Yeying chimed in with interest.
After a short rest, the four immediately burrowed into the bottom of the refrigerator.
Using the Earth-escape Chocolate’s wall-penetrating ability, the Magic Mice entered the lower freezer compartment, huddling in a dark corner to observe their surroundings:
Bowls and dishes containing dumplings and pasta, an ice cube tray, and various miscellaneous frozen foods made up the entire scene at the bottom of this freezer—a fairly ordinary household refrigerator.
But the bone-chilling cold that then swept over them made the Magic Mice shiver violently.

“Didn’t you say it wasn’t plugged in!?”
“I don’t know!”
Field Mouse Hyacinth shivered with cold and immediately cried out.
Fortunately, this chill did not stop the Magic Mice’s progress. Along the frozen food and lunchboxes, the four embarked on their climbing journey to the top of the refrigerator.
But when the four reached the top of the freezer compartment, the ceiling, which they couldn't reach even by jumping, became another problem.
“So high.” Xiao Baishu Iris said.
“We need to find something to stand on to reach it.” Cangshu Yeying pondered.
But as the four searched for bowls and food to use as stepping stones, the sudden opening of the refrigerator door made the Magic Mice freeze—
“—Heh heh heh, so you were hiding here, little mice.”
Hellcat squatted in front of the refrigerator, looking at the Magic Mice at the top of the freezer compartment with interest.
“Oh no! We’ve been discovered!”
Seeing the hunter Catcat begin to extend her paw into the refrigerator, Field Mouse Hyacinth said to her companions without hesitation:
“Quick, come to me! Step on my shoulders to get to the cold storage compartment!”
“But then, Hyacinth, you’ll…”
“No time! You must get the power plug on top of the refrigerator!”
Outside, rain poured down, and a melodious piano piece played on the television.
What timely rain, adding a touch of tragedy to this great sacrifice.
The Magic Mice climbed up, stepping on Field Mouse Hyacinth’s shoulders, leaving the sky-blue girl alone in the cold top of the freezer compartment, facing the hunter Catcat’s outstretched paw.
“You absolutely, absolutely must get the plug, you absolutely must find a way to escape!”
Xiao Baishu Iris watched Field Mouse Hyacinth being grabbed by the hunter Catcat and tried to reach out and grab her.
But Field Mouse Hyacinth only reached out to her, giving a thumbs up.
“—I’ll be back!”
“Hyacinth——”
The refrigerator door closed, returning to silence and darkness.
Listening to the sounds of cat paws slapping and chasing outside the refrigerator, the Magic Mice did not mourn for Field Mouse Hyacinth for a moment, immediately looking up at the distant top of the refrigerator.
“Now is not the time to be sad for Hyacinth; we must reach that place!”
This was a great expedition.
From the freezer compartment to the cold storage compartment, the Magic Mice climbed over mountains and ridges, climbing and dodging under the hunter Catcat’s paws, and ascended to the top of the cold storage room amidst the elegy brought by Hyacinth’s heroic sacrifice.
Squirrel Mai Sui slapped a plastic lunchbox onto the hunter Catcat’s face, and Xiao Baishu Iris grabbed eggs from the refrigerator door and furiously smashed them at Cheshire Rabbit, who couldn’t reach the top, gaining the last opportunity for Cangshu Yeying.

And in the Golden Fox’s hand was none other than the final item—a game controller!
