Zeno knew he was doomed. He couldn’t even accomplish his livestream penalty quest yesterday night due to his new quest and item.
Still, that didn’t stop him from sleeping. His mission was already fucked, so he might as well get some rest while he was at it.
When his alarm rang at 5 AM, he got up, accomplished his exercise routine, showered, and prepared for the livestream. It was already 6:30 AM when he finished, and luckily, most of his fans were still asleep at that time.
Risa, who had once again pulled an all-nighter trying to learn how to make edits for Zeno, was sleeping soundly in her bed. Meanwhile, Zeno had already turned on the live function of his Sigmoid account.
25 people have joined.
– It’s really you!
– I can’t believe I actually get to see you live.
– It’s so dark. Can you turn on the lights?
– I should thank my mom for waking me up so early. I almost didn’t get up out of laziness. As expected, mothers know best.
“Why are people in here?” he grumbled.
– Do you want us to go?
“Yeah,” he said.
– Lol. He hates us already.
– Oh, come on, Zeno. We’re your first 25 fans. The others aren’t even awake yet.
“Well,” he mumbled. “I will be here for an hour.”
– Talk to us, please!
Zeno, however, stood from his seat and grabbed a broom. He started cleaning his unit to kill some time. It was still dark inside, but his shadow could be seen moving around.
– Is he… cleaning right now?
– Who the heck turns on the live and cleans?
– It’s been ten minutes, and we’re still here.
– The 25 viewers haven’t moved at all.
– He seems experienced in cleaning.
– He cleans so fast! But, it seems he lives in a small space. Do you want me to buy you a luxurious apartment?
Finally, after fifteen minutes, Zeno went back to his seat and read some of the comments.
“I don’t need a luxurious apartment,” Zeno muttered. “You should use that money to help those who are truly in need.”
– You’re so kind!
– I can’t believe I watched you clean for fifteen minutes.
– It was one of the most entertaining things I’ve watched in a while.
– Zeno has such a pure heart.
Zeno pursed his lips. Even if he had just 25 viewers, they were quite active. “I’m not kind,” he clarified. However, his statement fell on deaf ears.
– Can you talk to us now?
Zeno looked at the time and saw he still had some time. So, he went to his kitchen countertop and began peeling sweet potatoes. He wanted to eat the candied version because he had been craving them for quite some time.
– He left us again.
– What is he doing now?
– It’s still so dark. I can’t see properly.
– I’ve turned my brightness all the way up. I think he’s peeling sweet potatoes? He’s doing a darn good job, too.
– Ah, seriously, Zeno! Are you doing your house routine on live? You didn’t turn it on accidentally, did you?
After ten more minutes, Zeno returned to his seat once more. Just like that, he had burned more than half of the time he needed for the livestream. He looked at the viewer count and saw it hadn’t budged since then.
It was a blessing in disguise that he turned it on early in the morning.
To kill even more time, he ate the sweet potatoes slowly, savoring each bite. It was the last of the farmers’ gifts, and he didn’t want to let it go. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever.
– A cleaning vlog to a cooking vlog, and now, he’s doing a mukbang. A jack of all trades is amidst our presence.
– He likes sweet potatoes a lot, doesn’t he?
– He looks so cute eating.
– We can’t see anything except for his eyes, teeth, and skin color.
– Zeno, turn on the lights!
Zeno shook his head. “I’m not turning on the lights. I like being in the dark.”
– Oh, kinky!
– Get your mind out of the gutter.
– How did you take your headshot? It was perfect.
Zeno didn’t plan on talking with his followers. However, it seemed they weren’t going to stop unless he answered them. Since they woke up so early, he decided to answer some of the reasonable questions.
“We shot it in a cave,” he honestly said.
– That’s still so strange to me.
– Why did you choose Dreamy Entertainment?
“Hmm,” Zeno hummed.
Because they were on the verge of bankruptcy.
He didn’t say that, of course. “They’re… kind,” he said instead.
– I see. I see. Zeno is a man of good principles.
– When is your next project coming?
“Next project,” he muttered. “It’s coming sooner than you’d expect. It’s a short series.”
– Ahh! You already have a new series? Is it a drama?
“No,” he said. “It will be on YouWatch.”
– Oh.
– Don’t tell me it’s from Story Lab. Those videos suck ass.
– Yeah, but somehow, I can’t stop watching them.
“It is with Story Lab,” Zeno admitted. He didn’t see the need to hide it. In fact, this was better. He could tell them not to support it!
“Don’t force yourself to watch it,” he said, hoping they would get the hint.
– I don’t support Story Lab, but I’ll watch it if you’re in there.
– Me too.
– Count me in.
“I told you not to force yourselves,” he clicked his tongue. “You should watch what you truly enjoy. Don’t blindly support something just because you like the actors in that certain project.”
“You are allowed to have your own opinions and preferences. It seems humans these days forget about that.”
– Our Zeno is so smart.
– Humans? How could he refer to people as humans?
– Is Zeno an alien?
Zeno froze as soon as he read those words. Fortunately, the timer he had set rang, signaling the hour was over.
[Penalty Quest Accomplished.]
He sighed in relief.
– Would you be doing any more of these lives?
Zeno didn’t hesitate.
“Probably not.”
With that, he turned off the live, leaving his fans wanting more.
